This is a mix of two things - first, it is a good set of readings from key economic thinkers - Hayek, Bastiat and others. Then each section is introduced with a story about Jim Doti's Italian family in Chicago - that illustrate the principles in the section. Dwight Lee and Jim Doti are first rate economists - Dwight Lee has contributed heavily to Public Choice economics and Doti is both the president of a University and the founder of the Chapman economic forecast. But don't let the academic ties turn you off. This ranks with Henry Hazlitt's masterpiece as a wonderful introduction to markets.

This book is not only extremely helpful with great resources for young writers to send material, the names of the contests and magazines are categorized with a decription of criteria the company wants in manuscripts, pay, time it takes for them to get back to you, and recent publicatons byt the company. These small decriptions are very brief with all of the needed details right in front of you. This is a great resource for writers who are just getting started and even writers who have written for a long time and are looking for new experiences.

This book is a must have, PERIOD! I was in the process of making my first business plan, and most business plan guides I used didn't help me with a marketing strategy (and they aren't designed to).

The worksheets in this book won me over, because it allowed me to interact with the book, it ask questions I never considered and organized my marketing plan. This Book is a fine supplement for "The Successfil Business Plan" written by Rhonda Abrams.

The money you save making a precise plan, and the money you earn with a focused plan is worth way more than the cost of this book.

It was just the book I needed! Extensive coverage on "Market Research" from the basics to the essentials on the subject matter. Definitely a must-have for potential researchers. And if you are already one, it will sharpen your skills.

Good basic information explained very clearly with well chosen examples. I think this book would make for an interesting audio tape.

Wonderful source of "who's the best" information. Lists leading brands of a large variety of items. Arranged by SIC code. Very concise with some charts.

If you want an introduction to international economics this book is not what you would want. If, on the other hand, you need both the key concepts of classical trade theory and a comprehensive overview of the issues of new trade theory, all nice and neat in unified notation, this book is a must.

Being a Student/admirer of Carmelo Mesa-Lago, I have seen his share of great works on Cuba and Latin America. None however compare to this one. This book has information that only Mesa-Lago, the formost Cuban economist outside of the island, could present and analyze. He breaks down the economies of Cuba, Chile, and Costa Rica and explains the path to development that each country has taken. IF you are a student of economics, international relations, political science... or just intrested in Latin American issues, this book is a must!!!
