This is the greatest book on the best ethnic restaurants in LA. Hopefully, the author will put out a new edition. I have it. It's about 10 years old, and I'm not going to sell it. It's better than any new guide out there. Even if you don't go to these places, it's an interesting read.

When this book first came out about 10 yrs. ago or more it was a revelation. In one collection it guided you through EVERY major ethnic community in the greater L.A. region and told you which were the best restaurants, bakeries, markets, etc. I don't know of any other book that comes to close to being this comprehensive & incisive.

If you ever spend any time in L.A. & you are interested in ethnic food, you must have this book.

This is a very good book, it gives a very complete analysis of different sector of the canadian stock market. Moreover, the authors seems to be quite qualified.

In "Harmonizing Europe," Duina and his unique perspective facilitate his ability to do a splendid job of concentrating on the intricacies involved with the merger of Europe into one, more uniform, entity. His detailed analysis of the effects of equal pay and environmental issues on the EU is enlightening. As we move into an era of more political, economic, and social mergers between nations along the lines of NAFTA, ASEAN, CARICOM, etc, this book serves as a model for understanding these phenomenons.

It is not easy to understand a totally new experiment like the one putting together many States with so different racial and cultural background. There are no previous examples to use as reference. Duina decided to take a very detailed picture of a moment in the EU evolution. If we had more pictures like this, that would allow the assembly of a movie, the closest thing man has devised to link together actual information and time. The book is very clearly designed and assembled, an excellent example of normative science implementation.

I am a business minor and this book has helped me greatly. It has served as a terrific resource to me.

This book is an excellent historical review of the computer and telecom technologies, and it is a must-read for anyone interested in the convergence of technologies, surely the most important phenomenon of the next century. The book's historical analysis of where we've been puts into perspective where we are going.

One of the most brilliant and insightful books that I have ever read. I was engaged from the first page to the last. I couldn't put it down.

From covering all the thoughts that go through ones heads at the time of pressing the trigger, to all the consequences of these thoughts. Everything is covered in this book.
Then it helps one create a strategy for buying based on facts rather than emotions.

I would recommend this book and When to Sell above most books about trading.

I can't say enough about the series of When to Buy, When to Sell, and The Nature of Risk. Ironically, I bought the When to Sell years ago, read it and shelved it. It's pages would have saved me a bundle over the past year. As the worst seems to be behind us, knowing when to get back in is key. Simply written with great examples, make this book a must own.

The book gets to the heart of investing, particularly in mutual funds. Dollar-Cost Averaging Plus, as detailed in the book, is, I believe, an excellent way to invest in funds.

This was one book I just couldn't put down! With complete honesty and openness, Mr. Gehring shares with us his own personal disappointments and discouragements. With valuable insight, the author offers clear, no-nonsense suggestions to help the reader overcome the obstacles that prevent us all from becoming everything we can be. This should be required reading for everyone facing tough times!

By providing an historical perspective, the book clearly and simply explains the relationships between those who have information and those who want information and how that relationship has and continues change.

While the authors use the Investment Banking industry to make their point, the information is applicable to all areas of business. A must read for those who are concerned with the acquisition of information and the management of corporate knowledge.

Excellent book that describes the fundamental structure of the securities industry then overlays practical (and readily observable) elements of intellectual property/capital. One of the few intellectual capital books I have ever read that includes detailed analysis on J.P. Morgan, one of the all-time titans of capital.

Do not be turned off by the greek (mathematical) equations in the chapter about IPO allocations.

The authors have a very strong framework that holds up well in the real world, even in the post internet bubble world.

I especially enjoyed the chapter about the Goldman Sachs IPO and ECNs.

This audiobook was quite enjoyable. I learned some new things about stocks. They did not cover all of the Stock Exchanges such as The Boston Stock Exchange, Chicago Stock Exchange, among others. Most discussion was based on Amex and NYSE. I recommend this audiobook. I also recommend investing for dummies as that also has a good and interesting overview of the stock market and its history. I look forward to other audio books from instant genius. I hope they do some on history, math, computers, music, home improvement, balancing a budget, business and management, and an Owners Manual for Men with Wives. Get Instant Genius, The Cheat Sheets of Culture: The Stock Market, I am sure you will like it.

This is just one of several titles in the "Instant Genius" audiotape collection, and like all others is an excellent and consise recap of interesting topics. The tapes are superbly written, well-narrated and very educational. You'll learn a lot without information overload, and it's fun to share and pass on your new knowledge to friends, colleagues, etc. The tapes also make terrific gifts. I highly recommend not just stock market, but all of the "Instant Genius" titles for quick knowledge!
