What a wonderful concept. This book is very beautiful, and having all proceeds go to Breast Cancer, is marvelous. This book has plenty of margin space, and the lines are dark enough, but not too dark. Great for school, office, planning workouts, or meals. This book would make a perfect gift, and I wouldn't buy any other notebook. Thanks Engage Books!

I bought this because it was required for my first college course, but I've kept it on my bookshelf ever since. It may seem like too much, or hard to navigate at first but that is only because it is so thorough. Especially if you will be writing in APA format alot, you will be thankful to have this book, and you professor will notice your attention to detail.

If your English class requires it, this is a great book. If you are looking for some enthralling reading, this is not it. This is a style manual for writing research papers. It is what it is.

So far so good. I had to have this book for my required English class, but it's an easy read.

The book arrived in fairly quick fashion and in the condition advertised. The book is a very simple and very practical book with sound instruction and a variety of helpful hints.

I expected this book to help me in writng research papers, as would be expcted just by the title. It has done this and much more. I had a narrow view of what was available and needed to write a good paper. This book has opened my eyes (and my brain) to writing a better paper by utilizing so many sources of information that is available. I'll keep this book as a reference.

The title was what made me purchase this book. The title was interesting since I need to write so many papers.

I am a teaching assistant in a Social Science research methods class at the University level and am published author in my discipline. In 1995 I took a class taught by Dr. Markman in which she tried to teach Honors undergraduates how to write a research paper. She failed. The methods provided in this text, unchanged since 1994 reflect that the authors learned to write research papers in the era of card files and typewriters. Even advanced high school students have probably written enough by the time they encounter this book that they'll have to unlearn a lot of valuable skills to employ the method contained here. In 1995 it was a little dated for the average student, and very dated for the tech savvy (me). In 2009, it is potentially harmful.

This book is an excellent source of information for high school students writing research papers! I highly recommend it for anyone who needs to do research. Whether a first-time writer or someone who has do countless papers, this book shows you step-by-step how to write an excellent paper.

Markman is a much better writer than teacher. I'm taking an Advanced Composition class for high school and we're using this book as a guide. Markman gets off to a great start, in fact, the first few pages are simply inspirational. But after that, it's all downhill. The section on bib cards is just confusing. Instead of providing an outline of how to set them up and examples (like the MLA Guide to Writing a Research Paper), she provides only examples (and many of those examples contain an unbelievable amount of Spanish text). The example on how to reference a casebook were so confused, I ended up just going to looking at the MLA's Reference. The section on taking notes is also unorganized and hard to follow. While I believe she could do an excellent job of guiding us through this procedure, she makes it much more complex than it needs to be. Also, I was reading her sixth edition, published recently. In my opinion, she should have revised the notecard section to show how easy it is to use a computer to take notes. My final complaint about this book is the section on plaigerism. Basically, it teaches a student the best way to plaigerise a book, especially at the high school level. If you're really interested in writing a good research paper, seek another book.

Nothing to complain about as far as the contents; it's an interesting hodge-podge of articles by or about Tesla. What I didn't like about the book was the bizzare typesetting and the poor reproduction quality of the photos. The photos are noticeably pixelated and low resolution; it almost looks like the photos were badly scanned jpegs taken off a website! Over half the book is set in ALL CAPS using a monotype font. Weird.

The Tesla Papers is enhanced with some of the papers on Tesla's thoughts and work regarding wireless power, anti-gravity, robotics, free energy, advanced solar power system, patents, and material collected on Tesla at the Colorado Springs Tesla Symposium. The Tesla Papers is a "must" for all Nikola Tesla enthusiasts, as well as students of alternative science, iconoclastic technology, and suppressed history.

Lately, I have been trying to read everything I can on Tesla. I was intrigued by a special on one of the television networks. I had heard of Tesla before but didnt realize that he had accomplished so much in his life, or that he was fascinated with the signals he claimed to be receiving from outer space (possibly the planet Mars he thought). For this reason, you can imagine my disappointment on trying to gain any new knowledge from the pages of this tome. There is absolutely nothing new here. Its not even put together in a presentable format.Oh well, maybe others will get into this work. I guess I just could not!

This is not a very good book. It is simply a reprint of Tesla's early writings with some added comments and packaged to look like a new book. If you are interested in the subject, look for The Lost Journals of Nikola Tesla, which is a much better book with a lot of good info.
