This guide is less about using Quicken than it is about forming good financial-planning habits. For users who want a healthy dose of advice with their instruction manual, this text does the trick.
The first section of the book doles out money-management principles to readers in all stages of planning. Part 2 launches into how Quicken can help you manage your accounts and achieve your goals. Written in the friendly and conversational tone of the For Complete Idiot's Guide series, this section explains a few of the basic tasks you'll need to use in the software, but it won't make you a power user. A shortage of screen shots may make it difficult for Quicken beginners to understand where they should be in the software.
The book's following chapters cover topics such as loans, home buying, credit cards, personal assets, college costs, and investments--each including a few pages on how Quicken can help you budget and track these expenses. This book goes light on the software instruction and is not recommended for those who want to utilize every feature of Quicken. Corporate Finance for Dummies with an MBAThis book optimally combines coverage off all of the key fundamental corporate finance concepts with a brevity that makes it a corporate finance book used for something other than jacking up the '68 Beetle out in the garage.
Unlike my pc, the nice part about corporate finance is that most of the material never gets outdated. I used the second edition in business school in 1989 and I still find it very relevant. If you want concise coverage of key fundamental corporate finance concepts in under 200 pages - this is your book.

Great introductory level corporate finance book!I used this book as an undergraduate at UW-Madison and a graduate at UVa. I found the material helpfull and easy to understand. Great for the undergraduate course, however it is not up to par for graduate level analysis.

Good for managers bad for studentsI bought this book to help me studying for my part 3 CMA exam.
The reason I removed the fifth star from my rating is:
First : It does not have enough questions, or questions are irrelevant to the ones you get in a CMA exam. Besides, there are no answers given to help you evaluate your self.
Second: Though it has a good website for student support ... some main chapters are still under construction!!
My Conclusion is that If you are a manager, you will find this book very helpful more than any other book but if you are a student you better use another text book like Horngren .

This very practical book succeeds in making information professionals intelligent consumers of financial information. Typographical errors in the worked examples can be a distraction, but do not obsure the decision-making conclusions.

Very Helpful to the HR professional!!I actually bought this book because I was working on a class project for Labor Relations and needed to read Chapter 7. Once I got the book, though, I realized that I had actually gotten a treasure. This book will help any HR professional who wants to think strategically and find a way to quantify the value of any organization's most valuable commodity-its people. The book is surprisingly easy to read and understand.
It contains very helpful and useful information. I would recommend this book very highly.
