I didn't believe it but he knows his stuff

I saw the author on CNBC, talking about how investors could spend 5 minutes reading financial statements and understand stocks like Lucent, WorldCom, Enron. This is a really good book. The examples are easy to understand, the concepts make a lot of sense. Like a lot of people, I'm not a professional investor and my stocks are taking a bath. I don't know if this book could have prevented that but I have some better ideas of what to look for now.

Look no further

If you are to be studying Accounting and Finance as an auxiliary unit, this one is the best. It is written in an accessible style with not a little consideration for the needs of the student, yet quite a good amount of information is here.

Great reference for the non-finance manager.

As a business manager with no finance background, I found this book an invaluable resource to help me understand big corporate finance issues. I borrowed the book from the library and three months later, bought my own copy. But I didn't read start to finish. I focused first on those topics I needed and in no time, I had read the book.

I recommend this book for non-accountants who wish to make sense of a balance sheet, assets and liabilities, managerial accounting and other terms.

Used for accounting class

This was an required book for a college accounting class. Having never before had any exposure to accounting, I found this book to be very helpful. Following the book along with the workbook that is available for this book, I was able to gain a good understanding of accounting and the accounting process. At least to the extent that I was able to receive an "A" in my class.

This book makes auditing as fun as possible

I used this book for an auditing class and I got a lot out of it. The book sets each chapter up in an understandable, and digestable way.The tables and charts are excellent summaries of the reading and it is entirely possible to just skip the reading and memorize those. Each chapter has thought-provoking questions at the end and activities that are helpful in analyzation. This book takes you from the first step in auditing to the way to fill out the audit report. I have fond feelings for this book.

Wonderful Book

Excellent book for anyone starting a business moving on to the next level. Gives a vbery intensive view of the position of the CFO and their responsibilities. Brought out many of the details of the position often overlooked. Kudos to the authors.
