Very useful book, particularly in what concerns alternative L-Stable distributions. True, not too versed in financial theory but I'd rather see the author erring on the side of more physics than mathematical economics. As an author I don't ask much from books, just to deliver what they indend. This one does.

Clear historical description of Einstein/Bachelier. Hopefully one day we will call derivatives pricing the Bachelier valuation.

The book in short provides an excellent perspective on the statistical approach to asset price dynamics. Very clear and to the point.

I was first drawn to the works of Peter Steidlmeyer in 1993 as a futures trader by a colleague who explained that the features that I noted about the frenzied interest rate futures markets, had been encapsulated by this author. Without reading the book I tried to monitor the market activities in the profile that had been explained to me. Strangely enough, there was a pattern apparent on the daily sheets of paper that I started to collect.

It was not until late 1999 that I revisited the phenonmenon when I started to trade on my own account from an office. I recalled the works and decided to pick up the book. It was an incredible revelation and revitalised my enthusiasm for day trading. Many people feel that they have a gut instinct in understanding where markets will trade, but Steidlmeyer's statistical approach formalises much of this. I was particularly interested in how his upbringing and his experiences as a child and the responsibilities he was given formed his approach to trading as a pro. From the writing you will learn the importance of watching rather than partaking in the opening hour of the market, which is often a money saver. it will teach you rules of discipline, because it makes sense.

What I failed to take away from the book in working practice was the application of options volume from the 'far-traders,' the people who were bothered about the long-term haul, and how this could be witnessed in practice. There is certainly a lot of truth in it, but I could not match this with my experience as a day trader. The statistical comprehension of Market Profile is skillfully explained and is profitable to those who adopt it. the book is well written, understandable to the novice and is sound advice.

This is a classic book on biblical finances that gives an comprehensive reading of most issues that Christian men and women need to address in areas of financial stewardship. I can see how other Christian books along the same vein would be influenced by Ron Blue and Larry Burkett's books in general if they were written in the early to mid 90s. In this book, the only areas of caution are the stereotypes that Ron uses to describe men and women's differences. That could merit a separate book.

I've taught out of this book in Sunday school for a year already with a few more months to go before we're finished. The book is interesting to talk about, but there is little motivation for anyone to practice the exercises in this book unless one is actively trying to get out of debt. But that is a problem with Christian books in general.

On a personal note, I find that I am not as fearful about discussing and analyzing financial topics as I used to be. Also understanding how I can reach for life's goals is refreshingly sobering when looking at life in financial terms. That is what Ron does brilliantly. This is not a book with Christian fluff between the covers. There is good meat here to grow on.

I recommend the book highly particularly for a motivated reading group.

Like the other Vujovich book I've read, Straight Talk About Mutual Funds, it gives clear, practical ways to figure what you're going to need and how to plan for it. I also like the little vignettes of people and couples who have different situations and need different strategies. This book is not threatening, and is easy to understand for the relative novice to investing. I picked up a lot of new ideas I hadn't considered before while making retirement income plans. Almost anyone 40 and over can use this book, in fact I've given it to two friends as a gift.

Shuster's work stands as a prime example of American exeptionalism when the US was still an exception in international relations. His story is a sad tale of an American realist/idealist who attempted to rise above the great-power rivalries to bring stability and autonomy to a budding democracy caught between strategic conciderations. Anyone farmilure with the US involvement in the coup to overthrow the popular goverment of Mossadiq in 1953 will notice the many parellels and sad ironies in the Shuster text. This book is also perfect as a background to the relationship between the US and the Persian people. Shuster's work is a truely American attack on the European empirial system, and a scathing critic of the culture of diplomacy. Shuster was an exceptional man writing in an exceptional time, but it was exceptions such as Shuster which generated America's exceptional image throughout the world. Robert S. Glase

Written in a pithy, yet imminently readable style, this book gives a comprehensive treatment of the subject. It's refreshing to read something so concise and well-written from a CPA! Highly recommended.

It includes 2.659 entries on courses and scholarships on all higher-education academic and professional disciplines, addresses (including Internet sites), admission requirements, application deadlines, financial aid, fees and living expenses in each country and, in some cases, work opportunities for students. The information is valid for the years 2000 and 2001. Entries are presented in English, French or Spanish according to the language of the country concerned.

This was a very good study guide. I took this course via Independent Study, so it was nice to have a study guide that I could depend on. The book features a summary outline of the key concepts for each chapter along with 10 to 15 true/false questions, 10 to 20 fill-in-the-blanks, 10 to 15 multiple choice questions, and 2 to 4 excercises/problems. The fill-in-the-blanks are somewhat cheesy, but all the other types of questions make you think. There are answer keys for each chapter that even explain why the answer is what it is. The exercises/problems are good because they were usually a different scenario than what was used as an example in the textbook, so you got even more learning out of them before attempting homework problems in the text book. All in all, I recommend this study guide if you are looking for extra help with the answers available or if you are taking this course via independent study.

I used this study guide and received a 3.9 out of 4.0 in this class. This is a great study guide and I would recommend getting one as it will definitely improve your grades in a very important class.
