I was looking for an advanced, secret passage, treasure map sort of guide to Excel, and I found it. This book walks you through lessons. I downloaded all the exercises quickly from their website. Even the most experienced users will embrace pivot charts, Microsoft Map, ANOVA functions, and Report Managing. You will really enjoy the new possibilities with software you already have.

Good resource for anyone wanting to be less dependent on our increasingly vulnerable supply infrastructure. Locating land in the country, gardening, homesteading skills, orchards, animals, water and sewage, etc. Also has a chapter on self-reliance while still in the city. 420 pages and includes a 75 page appendix that contains resources w/addresses and phone numbers.

Never would I have expected when The Shrewd Christian was recommended for immediate read that it would be such an engaging, "entertaining", encouraging and enlightening book about--of all things, finances!! I rarely read anything in one sitting, but Neil Atkinson kept my attention--through his own story, through a writing style that almost jumped off the page, through his knowledge as well as his passion for his subject. I'm excited about a book which focuses on helping the Christian middle class (plus anyone who elects to read this informative threatise) attain financial freedom--not so we can "have" more but so that we might "be" more about what matters--"kingdom work and relationships". Although I'm not sure if my husband and I can "live well on less than half of the money we make", Neil and his wife Margie's goal, I was certainly challenged to look at how we do live. Thankfully Neil didn't just challenge me, he also gave many, many helpful and practical ways to become "truly wealthy". Bravo to NA and Waterbrook for bringing a radically passionate financial prospective to my attention.

This book was well written, easy to understand,straight to the point. Would recommend to everyone.

Very well written and will help you use your money wisely. Part 1 gives a good overview of "...what you need to survive" and paints a broad picture of the small business market.

Part 2 and 3 get down into the details of accounting for small business and investing, respecitvely. Of course each part is composed of several sections and throughout the book shows how technology can be used proactively, not just as a passive menace.

My favorite section is Part 4. If you are deadly serious about selling online then get this book today! WEB Storefronts is the name of this section and it covers such topics as "why you need a web storefront", "when to do it yourself, when to hire and ISP", "setting up electronic commerce" and other useful topics. The last section, Part 5, has 4 chapters cover credit cards, smart cards, adjusting your life style, being socially responsible and mentions of venture capital, angel investors and other financial hope for entreprenuers.

This book is a must for any small business who is serious about managing their money AND using the Internet to grow their business.

Thanks to George Caners book, I took my mutual fund money away from my agent and went from only an 8% per year return to over 100%! I bought stock in the indices, but tried two high techs and they went through the roof. The TSE index alone rose over 30% in one year. I am a recent career changer. I have read a number of financial planning related books (Rattiner, Sestina, Stone etc..). Nancy's is tops at offering valuable, practical insight into the financial planning field. She passionately provides "must have" information on a profession that is long overdue--and badly in need of--career-track clarification. In both her book and in her role as moderator on Financial Planning Interactive's "Career Building" online forum, Nancy unselfishly shares her knowledge and acts as a mentor to those looking at this growing profession. A "must read" for beginners or even those just considering a career in financial planning.
