portfolios. The details of obtaining a numbered account and
opening a Swiss account are delineated in great detail.
The author explains tax havens in Panama, Bermuda, the Channel'
Islands and Liechtenstein. In the last chapters, the author
explains a few dozen steps to maintain financial privacy
including:
o MO purchases
o a registered company name
o safe deposit boxes
o investment advisor contracts
o set up an inter vivos trust

This book is a goldmine for personal investment purposes.
It is worth the price of admission.

Valerie Thompson has done an outstanding job of tackling this portion of the global bond market. The book is thorough enough to provide a refresher to a market pro yet accesible to moderately skilled retail investors. Mastering the Euromarkets is particularly recommended for the legions of retirement plan equity investors who will eventually need to worry about generating income from their portfolios.

Absolutely fantastic introduction to Financial Engineering. The first thing that strikes me about this gem is that it is very readable: the authors' writing style is straight-forward and concise, and at the same time manages to explain the concepts very well: no lecturing, no wordiness. There is a prevailing pattern of presentation to ideas: introduction, example, theorem, proof, excercise, and it works out wonderfully. The text is well integrated with equations. Well worth the money.

Interested in understanding financial statements? This book is a must. Written in easy to understand language, the author brillantly explains how to understand and analyze financial statements. Most books on this complex subject are confusing or difficult to follow. Don Miller, the author, leads the reader through "cause and effect" understanding of financial statements. Out of the hundreds of ratios that can be performed, which are the most important and why? The best book on the subject I have ever read.

This "handbook" is actually quite large and comprehensive. It covers areas relating to starting a practice (this section is especially helpful and includes a very realistic timetable from conception of a practice to seeing patients), enrolling with health insurance carriers both private and public, buy/sell agreements, employment, and retirement plans as well as many other things. With this book a physician has the resources available to start up a practice without incurring huge costs from a consultant. In addition to the text portion of the book, a CD-ROM is included with form letters and schedules to use as needed. I highly recommend this book for those individuals new and even not-so-new to solo/private medical practice.

Along with the CD that contains an educational version of Peachtree 7.0 five floppy disk containing business simulations are included.
