It is about time that the issues of privacy are being thoroughly addressed in this country. Dr. Robinson takes an academic analysis and applies it to the real financial world, in a manner that is most effective. I hope the banking and financial services community wakes up to the reality of privacy issues and takes appropriate action. If not, they will hurt more than just their bottom line. This book is a must read for anyone who expects to be successful in the financial sector.

This book is written by sales professionals for sales professionals. There are a lot of great ideas on building relationships with new clients and on improving relationships with existing clients. Every page has an idea or a concept worth considering. I'd strongly recommend this book for anyone in sales.

This is THE same book as Backrupt: A Society Living in the Future. If you have one, there's no sense in buying the other. Other than that, this is an excellent, easy to read book explaining how people find themselves in financial trouble and some common sense methods on what you can do about it, or if nothing can be done, how you can deal with the consequences. It could be sub-titled, "Things your parents should have taught you!"

I've studied innumerable books on Security Analysis, but have yet to find one that satisfied my desire to fully integrate financial statement analysis with valuation--until now! Penman's book does an excellent job of presenting all the various valuation methods and critiquing the strengths and weaknesses of each one. He does a superb job of showing the relationship between cash flow and accrual accounting and how each relates to valuation. He also shows how corporate strategy affects both the financials and valuation and how to do decent pro formas. For the studious stock analyst, this book is well worth the extra time required to digest its many insights. I rate this book second only to the original Graham and Dodd's Security Analysis.

This book is a must-read for anybody involved in financial reporting, including investors who are putting their savings at risk. It breaks down financial statement fraud, how it occurs, and how it can and should be prevented or detected in the corporate hierarchy (auditor's role, audit committee's role, management's role, etc.) It is extremeley relevant, especially in light of the Enron situation, well organized, and comprehensive. The Foreword by Joseph Wells makes a powerful argument on how pervasive a problem financial statement has become and speaks to this book's importance as part of the solution.

Financial books are typically jargon filled tomes that read like one accountant writing to another. Mr. Price has taken a normally complex topic and has broken it down into plain language and understandable examples. He even has made the whys and the wherefores understandable.

I recommend this book to anyone who feels in the dark about financial statements and what they really say or don't say. The book uses simple, understandable examples and uses a step by step approach to deciphering what are good numbers and what are bad numbers.

The glossary and appendices alone are worth the price of the book. I just hope this is just the first of many more business-made-simple by Ron Price.

Crainer covers al the pertinent management theories and gurus in this his most useful book to date. This book is a must for all current or aspiring managers and an absolute must for all MBA students.
