If Doestoevsky ever decided to stop writing about tortured souls and snow and religion and all that malarky and get to the real literary gold mine that is Financial Accounting and Reporting, he might have written this very book. It is a work of such delicate feeling and insightful, powerful prose it makes me weep when I finish each chapter. I love thi sman Nathan for writing this masterpiece.

Gleim offers a wonderful study guide with the Financial Accounting Exam Questions and Explanations book. A recent college grad, this book was used as a supplementary study aid by my accounting instructors that gives multiple choice type questions with suppoting explanations of both the correct and incorrect answers of recent CPA exam questions. It is a great asset and I plan to use it in preparation of the CPA exam.

This book is great! The questions are very helpful and relate well to the chapters in my intermediate textbook. The explanations to the correct answers are also very helpful when you get a question wrong. The CPA exam questions used in the book are challenging, but are a good preparation for the CPA exam. Also, the many professors like to use questions directly from this book, for their exams!

Professor Scott explains financial accounting theory drawn from recent research. He provides a clear, easy-to-use framewaork for students to 1) place this theory in a financial accounting context,2) explain and analyze the theory intuitvely and 3) reveal the theory's relevance in understanding the practice of accounting. Similar good textbooks in this field includes Positive Accouning Theory by Watts & Zimmerman, Financial Reporting: A Accounting Revolution by Beaver and An Introduction to Aplied Professional Research for Accountants by Ziebart.

I was a student in an MBA financial accounting course that used Dan Gode's Financial Accounting Tutor software instead of a textbook. This turned out to be of great benefit. The Tutor presented and explained financial accounting in a straightforward and insightful manner. The interactivity of the software added another dimension to learning, making me more involved in the learning process and making it more enjoyable to solve problems. I would highly recommend this to anyone who wants to learn financial accounting on their own and I would highly recommend the Tutor for any introductory/intermediate accounting course in college or business school. Another thing to consider is that the cost of the software package is much less compared to an average accounting book running you upwards of $70 and an average MBA course running you upwards of $2,500.

Financial Accounting is a difficult subject and Hermanson and Edwards do a very good job at bringing it down to the "understandable" level. They offer a multitude of ways to learn subject matter: from text, to graphs, to problems, to internet research (with web sites to visit) to real-world examples.

I really appreciated the teaching style of this book. Great book.

I just finished reading the book and aced my mid-term financial accounting exam - that speaks volumes about the quality of this book. It's combination of examples and down-to-earth narrate make this an exciting and very helpful book.

This is the textbook we were given for our Financial Accounting class in our MBA. So far, it's proven to be an excellent complement to the lectures, and even as a stand alone book, it contains enough information to guide you through the initial steps of financial statement generation and analysis. It definitely is very pricey, but it is a very good book. ...

I found this book very helpful in understanding the issues and 'gotchas' to the financial aspects of a divorce settlement. I followed much of the advice given and it really helped me create a fair settlement through a difficult and messy divorce. I'm three years post divorce now and still feel very positive about the results.
