Excellent coverage of process integrationThe fundamentals of process integration for better economics in the chemical process industry are explained in this book. The author has done a very good job in providing detailed examples using the popular methodologies of Pinch Analysis and Mathematical Programming. Highly recommended as a text for students and as a handbook for practicing engineers.
Excelent introduction to process integration. The goal of targeting (energy, area, unit, cost, etc.) is to address optimum conceptual design prior to actual design. This book provides an excelent introduction for targeting heat exchanger network design and synthesis. This book also covers extended targeting methodologies to address distillation column, CHP, furnace, batch-process, etc. A very good book for students and industry people.

My Short Glance To "Absorption Chillers And Heat Pumps"I had only 15 minutes time to have a short glimpse on this book ,in a general library in Austin. As I am a chemical engineer and familiar to refrigeration systems , the reason why I was absorbed by this book was colletion of so many details for such a relative small range of engineering . An excellent guide for using heat exchangersAlmost all kinds of heat exchangers have introduced by this title! It contains detail and abundant materials about heat exchangers, like charts, equations, and tables. It also contains the detail process for design of heat exchangers. Besides, the examples mentioned by the title are so clear and easy to understand. Well, the title can easily make junior engineers to handle the work of using and design heat exchangers.

nciples of Enhanced Heat TransferThis book addresses "second generation heat transfer technology." Special surface geometry configurations (or fluid additives, or electric fields) provide increased heat transfer coefficients, relative to "old technology" plain surfaces. Enhancement technology may be used to secure either of two possible benefits: (1) More compact, lighter, or less expensive heat-exchangers, or (2) To obtain increased energy efficiency (reduced operating costs) in a system. The refrigeration, automotive, electronic equipment, and heat recovery industries are strong users of enhancement technology. Applications are emerging for the chemical process, electric power, and aerospace industries. The book will be useful to both design engineers, and researchers.
This book has three key purposes. To summarize the advancement of the technology in an organized manner, to define the "mechanism" by which the enhancement devices work, and to provide predictive equations. It provides a foundation for researchers seeking to model complex surface geometries. Nearly 200 figures and photographs are provided, which show enhanced heat transfer surfaces, and graphs of performance data. The book contains numerous example problems and contains a problem supplement. The only detailed book reference on the subject area.

Good reference...Any packaging engineers, particularly those in the telecommunications field, who are looking at system-level thermal issues may find this book fairly useful. There is a huge amount of information here that is hard to get from any other sources other than scouring a lot of journals.
This is not an easy read and you should be well-versed in the elements of heat transfer, particularly duct flow. However, there is a wealth of experimental data that is still being "mined" by many researchers. Except for some of the newer papers by Manglik and Bergles (see their work on offset strip fin heat exchangers) you aren't missing much information relevant to heat exchangers or heat sinks.
I would suggest another reference such as "The Handbook of Heat Transfer" and "Fundamentals of Heat and Mass Transfer" to supplement the information in this volume. Certainly I have used all three designing new heatsinks for specific applications.
Handy dan useful bookThis book is very useful for one who wants to design and to calculate performance of the compact heat exchanger. It contains so many figures for the design and calculation of the compact heat exchanger. When I was designing the gas to gas heat exchanger and I decided it must be a compact heat exchanger, I only used this book to help myself.

An Excellent HandbookThis book is an exceptional follow up to the fluid dynamics publication by the same author. The material in this text is presented in a very straightforward manner which any mechanical engineer should be able to comprehend and apply. This is a must have for the engineer who wishes to design functional fluid thermal systems. This is my second copy.
A really practical design book for engineerThe content of this book is easily read for me!! It contains almost all practical equations and criteria in the field of thermal system design. The most important point I like the book is that it has really help me a lot with my work in many times. It is so suit to asist engineers in preliminary design of fluid thermal system.
Outstanding BookThis is an outstanding book. The text is very readable, and the material very practicle. This book could be picked up, read briefly, and applied to real world problems without any further instruction.

a good bookThis technology module contains a brief introductory description to the exchanger type above, followed by information on construction, construction materials, operating limits
and principal applications. Where appropriate, a comparison is made with conventional
shell and tube heat exchangers to emphasise size and weight reductions that can be
achieved by using compact heat exchangers.
The Module 3 series present further information applicable to all technologies, such as
general advantages and limitations of compact exchanger designs, common applications,
fouling and how to minimise it, energy efficiency. heat transfer enhancement, exchanger
selection, specification and operation, process intensification and software programmes.

Heat Exchanger Design Handbook - Part 5- Physical PropertiesI acquired the present book to complement information that I need to teach Heat Transmission in Mauá Engineering School (São Paulo-Brazil). The content of the book is excellent presenting technical information that allow us to estimate physical properties of having pure fluids or Hydrocarbons and Nonhydrocarbons mixture of fluids. At the end of the book it is presented physical properties of a series of very frequent fluids used in heating and refrigerating processes. I will classify this book as very good book. I will indicate it as professional reference to my students and to other fiends that work with Heat Transmission..
