Very good
Gives good explanations of the important stuff for the exchange 5.5 test. I used only this book together with the actual product and passed the test at first try. But beware, the test is very difficul, and this book has no sample questions that are anyhting like the real thing.

This book can teach you Exchange in no time, easy and interesting reading, i highly recommend it.

Brilliant...as usual
The Digital Press Exchange series for the past several years (since Exchange 5.x) have been the benchmarks on all things Exchange. This book is no exception. Exchange 2003 isnt that different from it's predecessor, but this book covers all the new features very well (and unlike the Exchange 2000 version of this book - it isnt based on a RC).

Buy it.

Best Book I've Seen on Exchange Migrations
I am in the middle of a large Windows NT 4.0/Exchange 5.5 to Windows 2000/Exchange 2000 migration where the overall design was done by others. Our implementation team has a lot of experience with Windows and Exchange, but not with Exchange 5.5 to Exchange 2000 migrations. The proposed Exchange 2000 design left us with a lot of questions and the designers were not too forthcoming with answers. This book answered our questions and more.

This is not a book for beginners. In the introduction the author has a section on "Who should buy this book?" - he assumes familiarity with Windows NT, Exchange and Active Directory. You'll need all that familiarity and more to make use of this book. But if you meet the background requirements, and are currently evaluating, designing or implementing an Exchange 5.5 to Exchange 2000 migration, you should read this book.

I also like the author's "case study" approach to presenting the information. A subject this highly technical and specialized could be almost unreadable. By using a fictional company to illustrate an actual migration, the author has given the book a narrative flow which makes it much more readable. I hope the publishers add more books to the "Gearhead Press" series.

Extremely thorough
This book is very well done and covers many of the subtle points of designing and implementing a rock solid Exchange 2000 infrastructure.

There is a great amount of detail around appropriate backup and restore processes and procedures, which is often times an after thought in some implementations. Service level agreements as well as defining "server down time" is also covered in much detail.

Often times it is some of the "softer" aspects of design that can differentiate an initially successful implementation from one that will stay successful and stand the test of time--this book goes a long way to provide help in this area.

I would recommend this book for anyone embarking on designing and building any Exchange 2000 deployment. It would also serve well as a checkpoint for designs that have already been done or implemented to ensure that any gaps can be identified and filled prior to problems arising.

Money and Exchange in Europe and America, 1600-1775: A Handbook

How many schillings in a guinea?
In this must-have reference book for the economic historian, McCusker compiles an impressive amount of information on the major European currencies, units of account and relative values, and presents it a clear and straightforward fashion. Conversion tables, market values and stock exchange quotes make it extremely easy to obtain the information as needed. If a number or a series is all you want, you can go in and out of this book in seconds, taking with you everything you need. In my personal experience, I managed to convert prices in florins per Dutch pound to pence per British pound between 1690 and 1720 in a matter of minutes (and it involves six different weight, monetary and accounting conversions!). But the masterful accounts that accompany each chapter make it worth spending much more time on it.
