Dornbusch wrote a excellent book, this book is the best if you need to know about all the exchange rates theories and the relationship between Exchange Rates and Fiscal Policy. The book has chapters about Topics in Exchange Rates, Equilibrium Exchange Rates, Inflation and Stabilization and other topics. I recommend this book all the people be interesed in Exchange Rates Theories.

As a rabid anti rat. choice and game theorist, I was initially skeptical of this book. But I think it introduces fair ideas in laymen's terms. Now I know my enemy just a little bit better, and he smells like peanut butter.

The second volume in the outstanding Scholarly Resources "World Beat" series, Expanding Empires: Cultural Interaction And Exchange In World Societies From Ancient To Early Modern Times is a selection of profoundly insightful, expertly documented, scholarly essays concerning the changes and legacies that various empires contributed to world history ranging from the influence of Alexander the Great, to the first Imperial Unification of India, to the dynasties of China, and more. Collaboratively compiled and edited by historians Wendy F. Kasinec (University of Arizona) and Michael A. Polushin (The Hewlett Foundation), this is a varied yet wide-ranging compendium of sixteen informed and informative essays. Expanding Empires is a welcome and much appreciated contribution to World History and International Studies reference collections and supplemental reading lists.

This is an excellent book. I highly recommend it to all managers. The authors researched companies & individuals that are known for excellent leadership. They propose 7 outmoded leadership practices that need to be 'exchanged' for forward-looking innovative practices. I also heard Mitch speak last week on these 7 practices -- it was very insightful. One topic I found very helpful was the discussion of the 3 generations that are coexisting in the workplace. We have the Gen Xers, baby-boomers, & the traditionalists -- each group is motivated differently. The book even details interview questions for each group that are very helpful. This is MUST reading.

The main thrust of this book is the development of new and powerful symmetry relationships in the values of options in foreign exchange markets. What makes these relationships really interesting -- and useful -- is that the authors show that they are valid in all markets. For example, no assumptions are needed on the existence of probability distributions. The final symmetries are easily understood and introduced using language from physics. This stuff should be in all books on mathematical finance. Traders, financial professionals, students and academics will find this book useful.

This is an introductory book on future markets, but it is not so easy, because it tackles some tough things (such as hedge and martingal) in an advanced level.

Maybe it is the best basic and useful text about Future Markets ever written. It is very well divided, the exposition is clear, and relevant problems are discussed. Therefore I recommend it for all those who wish to begin to study future markets.

Duffie begins explaining how future markets work - this is really basic. Then he explores the concept of hedge, and how to calculate it - by minimum variance, for example. The important things are how to chain the contracts, and, mainly, how to calculate the hedge when the change in prices is calculated in absolute or in relative terms (this is hard to learn and understand intuitively, but Duffie makes it easy - that's why it is a brilliant topic.)

Concepts such as utility function, martingal, risk aversion and others are explored, nonetheless they are not so difficult if the reader has been already introduced to them.
