The latest edition of Billmeyer and Saltzman's Principles of Color Technology is a complete rewrite. The author's use of in-text examples and "back to principles" appendix facilitate understanding of the concepts. The range of color science conepts (from basic colorimetry to an end-to-end color imaging system) make it a must-have for the color science student to the experienced color professional.

This book is the most comprehensive reference book available on this topic. In the past, I would have to peruse a variety of texts to find the information contained in this fine book. I highly recommend 'Capacitance, Inductance and Crosstalk Analysis' for electrical engineering students and professionals alike. I find it an invaluable tool for many projects I am currently working on, and refer to it for formulas and other information on a regular basis.

The book is very interesting. I have never seen a power system book with so much discussion on the application of parallel/distributed processing in control center analyses. It covers certain topics which are of interest to power engineers who would like to learn more about issues that are being discussed by FERC, NERC, and independent system operators. It is certainly a blend of distributed processing applications and power system communication issues. The book could have covered more examples. On the other hand it may be difficult to assign numerical values to the topics covered by the book. The chapter on DG covers a lot of interesting stuff. I recommend the book.

EMI field is infected with mumbo jumbo and people filling pages with generalities and non-quantitative half-explained theories. This book is a whole different standard. This book is great.

Delmar's Standard Guide to Transformers (or DSGT) is definitely worth owning.

It's a book targeted at vocational school students, but valuable to anyone that uses, installs, specifies, or services transformers. Every idea the book's text attempts to convey is supplemented by a drawing, photo, or illustration. The author left his ego out of the pages; at no point did I every feel talked down to nor did I detect any hint of academic condescension. Not to oversell the product, scientists and transformer company engineer/designers probably won't benefit as much, for the book is decidedly slanted to the users of transformers, not the makers of them.

After reading DSGT, transformers will be real to you, not just an abstract concept. The book begins with the basics of magnetism and a painless review of electrical theory, then starts building on that foundation. Unlike many EE text books that contain mostly page after page of verbiage and equations, this book has many large photos and detailed cut-aways of real transformers: tiny, small, medium, large, and enormous. Photos are numerous, all high-quality, professionally shot of every kind of transformer...but one.

This is a mild criticism, no photo is included of a common dry-type transformer of 30-60 KVA transformer very commonly found in most businesses and industrial settings. I would also liked to have seen a reproduction of a sample manufacturer's transformer data plate from this same size and type of transformer along with an explanation of how to read it.

After finishing the section on autotransformers, I was impressed by the depth of my personal ignorance and misconception on that subject!. The coverage of single-phase systems is quite good and 3-phase systems especially good. The most complete and concentrated collection of transformer interconnection schemes I've yet found is in this book.

This book consists of a set of distinct papers. It would be very useful to potential buyers to know what papers were contained in the book. Can this information be made available?

Not only is it the sole detailed reference book on this comprehensive subject, I'm sure it would be the best if there were ten others.
I have worked in the industry for 34 years and have not only recommemded it to many, but purchased it a a gift for consultants, generating set agents and dealers.
The only problem I have had is getting it back when someone has borrowed it!

This text is an excellent introduction into the world of EMC. It provides valuable knowledge, rules of thumb, and techniques garnered from decades of experience in the agency certification arena.

While the book's focus is mainly on FCC certification for notebook computers I found it easy to relate with the DO-160D guidelines I was attempting to meet.

Terrell and Keenan provide the reader with as nice a read as the material inside. For an engineering text it is wonderfully written and provides brief moments of wit and humor that make it very easy to move through.

Overall I highly recommend this text.

M.G.Say has the incredible ability to explain principles of operation in such a way that the reader can grasp it with no effort. From here Say takes the reader into the practical side of the world. Constructional detail and design aspects are highlighted like nowhere else. He also gives one a glimpse into the future. The amazing story is that this is still the best book on DC machines for people who have to operate or repair these machines.
