I thought this one of the top 3 books I have ever read on the semiconductor industry. For once, it was very interesting to hear what the actual leaders in industry felt. I would highly recommend this title to both experts and novices in the semiconductor industry-or anyone interested in semiconductors in general....

This is a book that I am using all the time. It is clearly written and very well organized, and easy to understand.

I have been involved in pulse power work for 20 years and I am really happy to read a book of such a detailed and simple explanation of complicated high power pulse power switches which is not available anywhere else fantastic book for the pulse power maniac.

Laser cooling and trapping techniques have given researchers new tools to explore the atom's dynamics and control. The book gives a good introduction to the forces that arise when an atom interacts with a light (laser) field, and puts a lot of emphasis on giving the reader an excellent idea of what's going on when atoms and photons interact.

Rather than giving all the details of the mathematical and quantum mechanics background that is needed to understand the subject the authors concentrate on giving a clearer picture of the real physics involved.

The book starts with a review of the quantum mechanics principles used to understand laser cooling and trapping, which serves as a good remainder for a person who already has a basic grasp of it.

Although all the mathematical analysis that shows how the formulas and mathematical expressions are derived is not done in the book, the presentation is sufficient to guide the readers interested in it do the work by themselves.

The book also has an excellent reference guide that an interested person can use to get all the mathematical and experimental details on the field.

Peter Bros is unquestionably an exceptionally bright individual who also has the fortitude to look at mainstream science and see that its foundation is in some respects built on a house of cards.

Buy any of his books and read them. If you are capable of logical thought you will see that maninsteam science, particluarly physics, has done a poor job of adddressing some very serious issues.

If you don't believe me, fine. Just buy one of his books, any one of them, and read it.

The title was taken from the famous book edited by R. Golde "Lightning": part 1 "Lightning physics", part 2 "Lightning protection". I expect this book will be also so important work in the field.

I read this book in 1992. It was the first time. It took me almost 6 months to really understand all topics. Good knowledge of mathematics is a prerequisite for reading this book. You must understand linear algebra, graph theory and differential/integral calculus. This book gives so deep insight in electric circuits, that you'll be amazed. Knowledge presented in the book includes basic and advanced topics. Authors were so carefull to notice reader about which parts could be omitted. For everyone who really want to know what's happening inside every circuit of TV set, computer, everything which use electricity to work...well not really every electric circuit. This book doesn't cover circuits with distributed parameters, only lumped circuits, where Kirchhoff's Laws are always valid. But, if you are mathematician who would like to translate not so usefull equations in real world electric circuits, this book is a must! One of authors, Leon O. Chua is inventor of many beautifull circuits and this book really opened my views. I'm sure that anyone who read this book will be able to understand principles of analog machines which computational power is in supercomputer range. Furthermore, reader who understand what authors wanted to say, could try himself in building circuits which will/won't work. My circuits are purely tranlsated equations from the paper. This book told me "How to.." One more thing about this book, if you want to understand principles of cellular neural networks, chaos and many other "State of the art in electronics", first read this book.

I used this book as a reference for a project I needed to do on splicing. I found the information contained was concise and clear. The book covers a wide variety of subjects that are very relevant to the jobs that a lineman and cableman would need to perform everyday.

This book is a great book to learn about electricity. My daughter wants me to read it to her over and over, and I have learned from it, too!
