Author Michael Wano has written a terrific book. In Refill for Life, Mike reminds all of us that we can be genuinely happy again. He provides us with a wonderful guide that gives the reader effective advice in the form of prescriptions and refills that anyone can use to regenerate happiness. Created from the heart and well written, Refill for Life is a thought-provoking and fun-to-read book with the important message to reach for peace and regain happiness. This book applies good medicine for the cure of modern-day pressures and doldrums. "The heart is the key to happiness," the author writes. So take heart! Read this book and get a refill of joy and happiness!

This book was excellent. I enjoyed reading the personal stories and could truly relate to the overall theme of the book. We need more of these books in our world!!! Thanks for some great reading!

In 1975, I played on my 8th grade's softball team. I was afraid of the flying balls, and I could never seem to hit at bat. In other words, I stunk at softball, but boy did I enjoy playing the game. There's a batting range around the corner from where I live. My heart tells me to go relive the fun, but my head keeps making up excuses. So, I haven't played ball.

Refill for Life encourages the reader to combine past desires with the present goals, to create future optimism. Most people can relate to the search for happiness from the Star Wars and football examples. It is so easy to get sick from the disease of others expectations, that we forget to be true to ourselves. Every day you are given presents, such as a tree swaying in the breeze, or a vibrant smile. Once a month, read the chapter "A present is meant to be opened" to remind yourself of these small gifts.

Michael Wano wants others to experience the everyday happiness of life that he has found. Although sometimes sprinkled with disappointments and fears, life's experiences are a testimony for optimism. Yes, we all often down emotionally, physically, and spiritually, but that's okay. We can use past happiness as our prescriptions, for an everlasting refill. This simple remedy generates warm fuzzies for me. It is a great reference when I become sad or upset, to remind me that in life, my cup is always half full. I would recommend Refill for Life to all, especially baby boomers.

Taagepara and Shugart have produced the most insightful and intuitive book on electoral systems I have ever read. It is easy to follow, the methodology is clearly laid out, and the results are both interesting and provocative. This book will become a staple for graduate classes across the country

Another good read in the trilogy. Make sure to read Mantis first and then Leopard before continuing onto Steroid blues. I highly recommend them all.

hm... i think i'm writing too many reviews tonight. anyways, this book was really cool. i predicted how the ending would be like towards the middle of the book, and i knew something was up with jack since the beginning of the book.... you just know there's something wrong with him! i really like the story. i read this book durring SSR time in my english class and my teacher always plays this "clasical" music (it's supposed to help you concentrate on what you're reading) and in the book it talks about this certain song that they play. as a result of that, now every time that i go into my english teachers class and the music is playing i automatically think about the book. it's a cool book to read, you should read it. if you have any questions about the book you can email me at: rivas_juanita@hotmail.com. later, take care :)

It is about an odd stereroid/bodybuilding/racist subculture in Pennsylvannia. I think most people who read it will like it.

...and I was not disappointed. I have PTSD myself from an auto accident and I know what these authors are talking about. Having just heard of Greg Steckler, I thought I'd give it a try. I would never think of leaving home without this book in my luggage. In these times, there is no other book. This man is patient, kind and thoughtful and teaches you how to be that way with your child. No one thinks better about children than Greg Steckler. I just wish he'd written more. Maybe he will. If you know him, call him and ask him to. The answers he provides in this book for dealing with trajedy that seems uncontrollable and creates a scary world, much scarier than the one we were raised in, requires that this book be read by every parent. The US State Department was absolutely correct when they made this one of only a relatively few books with an unqualified recommendation. It is superb in its writing and infromation. Let Greg teach you how to help your child through these trying times that don't look like they're getting much better soon!

This book has been especially helpful during these times of crisis. It has been very helpful in getting my daughter to make sense of the tragedy and put it all in perspective. Thank you.

I did not think that anyone wrote on this subject, so when I saw it on Amazon after our last storms I was quite relieved to have some guidance in adjusting my kids to the realities of nature. I can tell that the authors must have had hands on experience in disaster relief by reading some of their advice. It's real "hands on" kind of advice. Very useful.

This book blew me away. It is worth every cent even if all you do is look at the pictures. This book inspired me to become a geologist.

The study of Mount St. Helens is detailed and easy to follow. My friend got this book and now I am going to for a college resarch project. It provides the graphics and information necessary to get a good look at such a fantastic event of nature.

As an apprentice Naturopath, I really enjoyed this book. Often a patient is experiencing symptoms that are side effects of the prescription pills they're taking. The book is informative and full of practical hints for maintaining and improving health.

While looking for material on the basics of our environment and for definitions of various terms and words I've seen in newspapers and magazines, I came across the ABCS of Environmental Science. It was exactly what I needed - a clear, concise and basic text for a non-science person. Mr. Katz's book explains the various aspects of our environment and the interconnectedness of it all. Each brief chapter discusses and happily (for me) summarizes the topic with a What You Should Remember section at the chapter's end. This book was interesting and informative reading with the salient points clearly emphasized. I recommend it highly for anyone wanting a thorough but clear overview of our environmental resources and what's being done with them - a very relevant subject for us all.

If you have a problem with alcohol and has been unsuccessful with conventional programs or know someone who has. DON'T GIVE UP BEFORE YOUR READ THIS BOOK. IT COULD SAVE YOUR LIFE OR THE LIFE OF A LOVE ONE. This program can help millions who suffer from alcoholism. It explains why so many alcoholics are unsuccessful at abstaining from alcohol. It contradicts the general perception of alcohol abuse and that alcoholics can't be helped until they want to. It proves (if you will) that alcoholism is indeed a disease and not only mental but mostly physical. I found answers and reasons for why alcoholics behave the way they do and how it is genetic and hereditary. This book is based on scientific and medical research and the findings are absolutely amazing. It also shows that like any other physical disease or illness, if after diagnosing the problem, there is not a physical treatment to prepare the damage, recovery is almost impossible. The program described is extraordinary to say the least. Frankly it disturbed me that our government has had this evidence for over 40 years that this program can triple the success rate of recovering alcoholics as well as make it easier and less painful for persons trying to get help. Reading this book could probably greatly increase the amount of people who seek help.

I found this book facinating! It not only explains why some people crave alcohol but it also gives a roadmap out of the horrible maze of addiction. It is facinating and gives real help to those people that haven't found their solution to their problem.

It is rare for me to have such unbridled praise for any individual writer, but Metzner is quite simply a shining intellect - a hero among others.

Anything with the name Ralph Metzner even remotely attached to it is a safe buy. Metzner brings vitality and encyclopedic awareness to every project. An elder statesman responsible for such dramatic shifts in consciousness within this nation and throughout the world, buy his works and read them with pleasure.

What is striking about this work is the respect he brings to the subject and the well-constructed tapestry of thought contained within the pages.

Also, the design of this book is beautiful.

Solid content with the stamp of greatness. Palatable to the senses and nourishing to the neurons.

This book discusses Ayahuasca from a variety of perspectives: historical, religious, chemical, cultural, horticultural and experiencial. The way the book is structured it would be easy for a reader to skip over the topics that don't interest them. All of the information is presented in a thorough, well-written, and objective manner offering some conclusions while at the same time allowing the reader to form their own.

Most interesting were the 25 or so personal accounts, 3-4 pages each written by people who appeared to Americans/Westerners who took the drug for religious/spiritual purposes and in a religious/spiritual setting. It was clear, based on their mindset (objectives and beliefs) and the religious setting that Ayahuasca seems to somehow create a religious construct through which a person can work through personal issues or sort through personal beliefs. The experience seemed to have a profound affect on most of these people.

Overall, I got the impression that Ayahuasca was not connecting these individuals to something divine outside of themselves, but rather that it was freeing the brain up to explore the subconscious/ID in order to resolve problems or explore issues in the persons life.

Well worth reading if you're interested in this sort of thing.
