All Quiet on the Western Front: Teacher's Resource Manual

It's the most exciting book i have every readPaul and his classmates enlisted into the soilder of Germany during World War I. They ahd many fightings and they started to die one by one. All Paul's mates died because of baombardments but he was alive. He was the only one that alive from his friends. But finally he commited suicide. at
Love the book. I think Paul commited suicide!!!!!I feel that the main character, Paul, commited suicide. His thoughts in the last chapter were something along the line of, 'I have nothing to believe in, all of my friends are dead, I've seen more than enough sites and have had more than enough experiences than I need in a life time, so why should I go on.' This is along the thought line of someone who is so utterly depressed that he would easily contemplate suicide, let alone do the terrible act. Another reason I feel this way is because Paul is one of the most experienced guys around in trench warfare. In the book, it explains that the recruits suffer the most casulties because they have no idea how high a bullet is because of the sound, what kind of shell is traveling through the air at the moment, and at what time is it safe to take off your gas-mask. Paul had survived three years of this loathesome bloodshed while relying on his experience. He would not be the type of person who would mysteriously fall in battle in one of the dullest days in World War I, deemed 'All Quiet On The Western Front.' The book also stated that when the men found him in the trench he had a total expression of calm, like all of his stress had been relieved and that the end had finally come.

Great fun and learning in the Social SciencesI purchased this book as I enjoy simulations. This volume contains ten simulations that cover history, politics, and geography. They are easy to understand, come with detailed instructions, and the students enjoy them. One aspect I enjoyed about this book was that the instructions break down how to utilize the simulation with different level students-from basic to advanced. This is helpful for teachers who have a diverse student population. I ran the Alliance simulation dealing with World War I this semester and my students really enjoyed it. I found that the simulation did indeed work for all levels of students. I plan on using the U.S. geography simulation and the Peace in the Middle East simulation when I next reach those eras in my class. A+++
A useful and enjoyable volume of great practical value. This useful and easy-to-read book promises to make life far more interesting for social studies and intro college instructors. I found the volume to be fun, accessible, and quite interesting. It provides a variety of well-designed and thoughful lessons in a friendly and conversational tone. There is no pretension and no effort to talk down to the reader-- it was very much like picking the brain of a more experienced colleague. The ten simulations are self-contained and manageable. I have not yet used them in my class, but I am looking forward to doing so. On the whole, I strongly recommend this volume to my teaching colleagues, at a variety of levels, across the nation.

The book sets forth in an orderly and easily understood manner the steps that will greatly improve any training department. If there is any one book that will pull it all together for the training professional, this is the one. A must read book.

The book is written in easy to understand language with detailed success strategy for creating the ideal learning organization. Most training books fail to inform the reader how to execute the strategy they are recommending. Purington and Butler have done a masterful job putting the detail in the puzzle. Great reference bookI have a 1997 version of this textbook. It is really wonderful for reference even after finishing the course that required it. My husband and son are using it also. It has answers in the back so you can check yourself. If you don't tear out the work sheets and just copy them, other members of you family or friends can use the book to improve their English also. It is really worth the money.
Good reference tool for any officeI am just completing a required class using this book. It takes you through our written English language by teaching how to identify each part of speech. This book also teaches correct punctuation, different kinds of phrases, and really makes you dig deep in your subconcious to remember nominative phrases, plurals, numbers used in sentences, etc... It's all the basic English in one book that a person needs for brushing up!

Worth its weight in gold.Andy Dappen has written a book that uses common sense on stretching your hard earned money further than you thought you could get it to go. A must for everyone to read. The chapter on light bulbs alone is worth the price of the book. I sincerely hope they publish it again. I give this book to all new graduates and newlyweds as a gift, and have been thanked profusely for my gift.
This book contains 1000s of ideas, old & new. Most useful.I have always read every cheapskate book & article I could get my hands on. I thought I had heard of every useful idea there was. Wrong! I had borrowed the book from the library (good cheap idea), but it was so good that now I need to get several for gifts.

AT LAST! AN ADVICE BOOK WITH REALISTIC ADVICE!!!I don't intend to go to college again--I much prefer to teach. But if I ever decide to take the plunge, this is the Bible I'll be carrying around. Where was this book when I was starting college? If it had been around, I probably would have ignored it, but I'd like to think that somebody who really cared about me would have hogtied me, duct-taped my mouth, and read this book to me page by page. COLLEGE PLANNING IN THE TWENTY-FIRST CENTURY by Chris Lee is a subversive book: it tells you the right things any college guidebook should tell you, but it sneaks in a whole host of wonderful bits of additional helpful information, plus easy-to-digest doses of wisdom. Author Lee throws in all those things you really need to know--such as how to survive politically around snooty faculty advisors and noisy dorm-mates, how to minimize your after-college debt load, how to deal with text anxiety, how to keep studying in the midst of personal crises. In other words, Chris Lee is telling you things your parents don't have time to tell you, or things they don't even know themselves. He's kind of acting like a Father figure for you--and believe me, that's what you need in college--someone who'll advise you without judging or criticizing you. He even tells you how to survive in a potential barroom brawl--and come out cool and collected, and in one piece! A nicely done book that gives you exactly what you need--and more--just when you need it the most! --Jim Reed, author of DAD'S TWEED COAT: SMALL WISDOMS HIDDEN COMFORTS UNEXPECTED JOYS ...
Fabulous bookI wish that I had this book years ago. Chris Lee's book is a must have for any college bound student. This book provides information for the commuter student as well as campus life. Lee explains college planning in a humorous manner. It is a very light and easy read. Every high school senior needs a copy of this book.

Great read, convinced me to become a physician!I found this book very interesting in terms of what the realities of premed realy are. I learned a lot of things that I was currently unaware of, and it gave me a stronger basis on what to expect in the next four years of my education, as a highschool student, it provided me with a lot of insight on how to prepare for premed classes, and how to balance my studying/working with my free time. I would recommend this book to anyone who is interested in a career in medicine, as it will explain to you what to expect and how to handle it.
an absolutely essencial read or any pre-med studentFinally. A well written, practical book for pre- med students. The author is both a doctor and a lawyer. This fact alone gives him fabulous credibility. Extremely informative book. Also an excellent source for relatives of pre-med students, as that it explains what to expect.
