Handy punch lists to focus your thinking.
Shortcuts for Smart Managers presents checklists and fill-in-the-blank forms for just about every imaginable task a manager would want to accoplish, from a marketing plan to a prep sheet for negotiation. They help you focus on the critical points and cut to the chase. I bought it for the prep sheet on how to deal with difficult people! I like to be prepared, but don't think I have time--- these shortcuts really appeal to me.

About Time
Yes, it's about time for a book such as this to address the issues of information overload and all the other mental clutter that fills up our time. It's time to get back to the simple life (relatively speaking) and say no to so many things that rob us of our time.

This book has also helped me realize that that there is a definite link between time management and finances. I always thought I was organized but I never realized how I make many costly mistakes by not managing my time wisely.

Compact And a little profound
Just as the title, it is a compact book and not so easy to read. It is a technic book for us to understand how to measure the volitility in the financial market. It takes me a lot of time to read this one.I think it would be better for people to know a little stochastic calculus at first and then try to read it.... It is a good book I think and suits for the one who wants to know the topic more deeply.

Strategic Investment Decisions: Harnessing Opportunities, Managing Risks (Financial Times Management Briefings)

Clearly laid out and easy to read
This book pulls together much of the current thinking on using Risk Assessment techniques for Strategic Investment decisions. The book is easy to follow enhanced by useful graphics. However, the book is very expensive and the quality of the publishing does not live up to the cost.

A great book for the novice project manager
A great book for the novice project manager and a good refresher course for those of us who are already doing it. There's more to project management than just drawing Gantt charts. This book touches all aspects of project management, shows you how to deal with the people, politics and risks of the job. This book is probably the best of the lower priced project management books. My only complaint is that this book has 3 inches of margins, but I still think this book would be a bargain at twice the cost.

From a teacher...
An excellent look at labor organization and how labor affected American society in the late 19th and 20th centuries. Looks at different movements including women's labor and child labor. Good pictures, and excellent text. I will be using this as a reference book in my 8th grade US History library.

Success at the Enquiry Desk: Successful Enquiry Answering Every Time
Published in Paperback by Library Association Publications Ltd (October, 2000)
Author: Tim Owen

Review of "Success At The Enquiry Desk."
Mr. Owen guides you through the reference process in "Success At The Enquiry Desk," with a touch of lighthearted candor that makes the learning process enjoyable. Chapters on topics including where to find reference answers, how to present the answer as well as what to do if you can not find an answer compliment this wonderful book. Although the book's examples are geared towards British resources, Mr. Owen presents them so that basic reference searching strategies are the primary focus. He also includes a bibliography of key reference sources. This book was fun to read and included humorous yet, realistic examples that illustrated reference search strategies. I think this book would be a good resource for library students and the beginning reference librarian.

I actually had to listen to these tapes once ...
It was required for the first internship I ever got after high school. It may just be another Dummies product, but it does give clear, straightforward advice on finances, investing, and time management. And there's nothing wrong with shaving $50 or so off your personal expenses every now and then.

Time Management for Busy People

Insightful!
The colorful, almost cartoonish, look and feel of Roberta Roesch's book will probably put off people who prefer to have their solutions shown to them in black and white. And that's a shame because this book is an excellent time-management resource for everyone. Roesch created her book for people who "don't have time to read time books," and did a really wonderful job. By eschewing the standard book format, she may have alienated some readers who prefer their books to look serious. But it is precisely this format that encourages readers who wouldn't normally buy time management books to give this one a chance.

You can read this book straight through, but its most valuable sections stand on their own. A number of questionnaires help you determine whether the material in a section covers an area that concerns you. The book is also peppered with "minutes matter," call-out boxes that offer short time-saving tips. It caters to those with short attention spans, but without being trite. It is particularly useful for those who have purchased time-management books before, but gave up on them out of boredom or frustration. We recommend this book to anyone interested in time-management. In short, if you don't have the time for time management, this book is for you.

The Time Management Pocketbook
Published in Paperback by Stylus Publishing, LLC. (01 July, 1999)
Authors: Ian Fleming and Phil Hailstone
Amazon base price: $8.95
Used price: $5.82
Average review score:

Great Time-Management Pocketbook
A very compact and useful 120 page presentation on core time management principles, and tools ready to use in the workplace, by undergraduate business students, or consultants.

Topics include: managing work activities, managing your thinking and reasoning, managing relationships, managing communications, and managing your work environment. Tools include: Pareto, importance vs urgency matrix, delegation checklists, mind-maps, fishbone diagrams, stress management and more.

The material is well presented in the context of business needs. On the negative side, the content is dated, and the compact format limits the number of toolsets and the extent of discussion of contemporary time/project management software.
