This book is a gem. Anyone who has worked with Performance Appraisal will appreciate John Drake's experienced comments about why PA so often fails, and what is required to make it work.

This book helped me to convience management to drop an expensive PA system that no one used (except under duress) and to move to something far more productive.

Any organization embarking on a PA system or changing their present one will find it invaluable to read this book first.

Although this 1991 book is relatively old, I find the content of it practical and logical. Outstanding from many books in the market of empty slogans, hallow jargons and weak propositions, the author discussed in simple but intelligent words, (and always in Q&A, key point formats that help readers to grasp and remember), how to perform outstandingly in the workplace by adopting an integrated approach through personal improvement in time, stress, health and relationship management. Well backed by his M.D. expertise, he explained well in our daily language the important connection between our physical and mental conditions, and had smoothly put forward means of positively influencing our mental conditions through physiological activities, like actively controlling what you eat and how you sit and sleep.

In short, this is a highly valuable book that any person that strives for better career and life performance shouldnt miss.

This is the only book I've seen that applies scientific principles to personal growth. I've known Thomas Fields for many years and have seen his principles at work. Anybody would admire, if not envy, his professional and personal accomplishments. There is never any question that he will do what he starts out to do, or at least fail in a way that could not have been foreseen. His success is based on the ideas in this book. These strategies rely on rationale thinking, not voodoo. Reading the book caused me to examine my own project planning methods and gave me inspiration (and a framework) to do better. What's especially rare is that a personal growth book should be written with such absolute clarity. I think this book is going to make a positive difference in many lives.

I especially liked the chapter on solving cash flow problems. Easy to read, understand and apply to my life.

I really enjoyed this book. I am amazed at how quickly the author gets to the heart of time management. Moreover, it isn't just about time management at work ... it's time management for life ... be it leisure, procrastination, health. And there are maitenance tools to keep on track. As well, the book is a fun and enlightening read. I highly recommend it.

This book is really easy to read. I finished it in one night. Great for those people looking to learn more about process mapping and process improvement. He makes it seem so simple, you'll be amazed you didn't think of reengineering before. Doesnot focus too much on how to choose the right process but if you already know what you want to improve this is a great "how to" book.

Provides outstanding insight into the interactive relationships between business velocity (speed) and quality. The concept of First Pass Yield is outstanding and broadly applicable to many business processes.

As indicated by the title, this book is about supply chain management in the consumer product goods and retail industry sectors. There are several chapters on the evolution of Quick Response in the 1980's to Supply Chain Management in the 1990's. The outstanding feature of the book is that the authors have included real case studies and based their findings on a decade of solid research into sourcing, forecasting and replenishment. There are many quantitative findings published from their research with retailers and manufacturers using simulation tools and quantitative analysis.

I first balked at the high price of this book. It didn't matter that it was written by professional futures trader, George Angell. I bought it and studied the different spread trades that he dedicates a chapter each to. This book will be useful for years to come from taking these trades. The price is well worth it in just one or two contract spreads.

Very good book that explains how to market technology products. Buy this book and "Crossing the Chasm" by Geoffrey Moore to get a good understanding of the specifics of technology marketing.

"The Regis Touch" is a book from the eighties but is still very interesting and insightful, with lessons you can use today.
