This book was a tremendous help to prepare for the CHP test. The tests provided were very similar to the ones on the actual test. The whole study program outlined in the book was excellent. All the information provided was very helpful in my success in passing the test on the first try. I would highly recommend this book to anyone thinking about taking the CHP test. If you want to pass the California Highway Patrol's written test, buy and study this book! I bought it in August and took and passed the test at the end of August! The examples in this book mirrors what is on the C.H.P. written test. Also, if you plan on taking the written test, start doing crossword puzzles. You'll find out how that will help you when your taking the test! Good luck-

This book is incredible! I took one previous police test before buying this book. I completely bombed that test. This study guide helped me turn my attitude and aptitude around and I believe I did much better on the CHP test! The 2 practice exams in the book gave me almost an exact replica of the actual CHP exam! I was completely confident with all of my skills. This book helped me with the reading comprehension, writing, spelling, vocabulary, fill-in-the-blank, and essay. It even tells you as the reader what exactly to do to get hired. I have absolute confidence now and thanks to this book I believe that I have a chance to become a CHP Officer!!! I recommend this book to anybody who wishes to succeed in the CHP testing process!!! It is exactly like having the test in advance!!!

This is a masterful work -- getting a little out of date now, but still well worth a read for the section on the history of IQ testing alone.

A must-read for all people in school psychology, intelligence testing, or education.

I routinely use accounting in my investing activities as well as my management activities and I have found this to be among the most insightful short accounts out there. Plenty of detail is provided and the programmed teaching format is highly effective. Although simple in its approach, it also has one of the best overall approaches to accounting that I have seen. Most accounting books make it difficult to see the forest for the trees. This book is just the opposite: it starts by showing you the forest. Highly recommended to those who need a good knowledge of accounting but do not wish to become accountants.

The book is required in our class of Finance as an introduction to the accounting system. It's quite easy to understand all the principles by doing the exercises yourself. And the special design of reverse printing and post tests are a big help. I had accounting class before and was often confused with debits and credits of whatever assets or liablities and equity. However, when I'm doing this book, everything is clear - there's considerable details to explain how to debit or credit any accounts. Simple introduction of non-profit organizations' financial statement also quite useful. Strongly recommended.

I just love crossword puzzles! I made this a part of my daily study routine. Instead of repeating the words aloud or rewriting them again and again, too boring, I enjoyed a puzzle with my morning coffee. It was stimulating! Perhaps the most painless way to prepare for a professional test. By test time, I just new the right response because I was really prepared.

P.S. I am still working on the last few puzzles...I can't seem to put them down. I know the test is over, but I love starting my day with a mental "wake-up" call.

I usually hate studying for test, especially when there's a lot of vocabulary involved. Looking at flash cards does nothing for me. But, I got caught up in the solving of the puzzles and forgot that I was studying. I loved the "cheat" buttons for when I just couldn't figure it out. The more I solved the easier the next puzzle became. I could not have mastered the test without it. What a terific resource. Thanks!

I liked this book because it had more and better examples than the competition such as Lambers Review Course. It will not repeat practice excersices. It has pointers and tips on how to build knowledge in a logical and reinforcing way. The first time I took the exam I paid $1000 for a Lambers Review and I did not pass any part of the test. The second time, using Wileys Review books ( $129.99 approx.)I passed two parts.

I've been using the Typing and Keyboarding for Everyone to train over 50 clerical students in keyboarding for the past year now with great success. It's an easy reading book for beginners and those looking to just refresh lost skills. I personally would recommend it to anyone.

Even though I have favored the arts (writing, cooking, etc), I have been drawn to the sciences as well, but I told myself I wasn't that good in them. After purchasing this book and taking the tests, I realized that I was very skilled in areas that are used in the sciences. Now, I am considering taking food science classes and changing my career.

This book gives a thorough insight into how relationships between companies work and how they either sustain or break down. It also breaks the myth of differences in relationships between Japan and 'the West', as the book indicates that relationship in the three continents work quite the same. Quite a new proposition, I think!

The insights of this book will give managers a tool for how they can build successful relationships and how they can improve it.
