Our church has used this book for several years as part of our Steps to Freedom support group. This group provides men accountability, practical tips and principles for becoming truly free from from struggles with pornography, adultery, emotional disconnection or sexual withholding. We use this book paired with Steps to Freedom, also by Weiss. This is for men who really want to break free of these struggles through God's grace.

Extremely practical path to recovery

Dr. Weiss does an excellent job presenting practical exercises to help the recovery process of the Sex Addict. His writing is simple at a high school or below level reading level, but the concepts and power of the exercises don't lose their effectiveness even for scholarly readers.

Although this is a "Christian Guide," Dr. Weiss does not taut theology and takes a very gentle approach to spiritual concepts, many times assuming the reader has no or little spiritual background.

This is one of the most powerful tools I've found in working with addicts to recover. Highly recommended.

This is the first book of its type I've bought. The format is very readable and easy for reference and though there is a wealth of info, it doesn't overwhelm.Marsh clearly knows what he's talking about and so far his methods are showing almost immediate results. Buy this book and I'll see you in the playoffs!

A Good Addition to the Library

101 Things is one of the better baseball books I have come across. It is obvious that Marsh knows baseball, and he presents information clearly. I also like the tone of the book -- although he discusses some of the fine points of the game, he doesn't get too technical, or talk down to the reader.

The book has sections for different parts of the game (pitching, hitting, bunting/baserunning, etc). Each section then consists of one paragraph tips, with each tip rated as beginner, intermediate, or advanced. The drills are clearly labeled and placed next to the appropriate tip.

Marsh writes at the end of each chapter, "remember, it's only a game..." But the game is much more enjoyable when coaches and players know what's going on. No one book can teach someone how to coach or play baseball, but this book certainly helps a lot.

Extremely easy to read. Easy, step-by-step approach into public speaking with very relevant topics such as its steak and sizzle technique to keep the listeners on their feet. After my speeches nowadays, people are always walking up to me afterwards complimenting me on how great the speech was, which a chunk of it is due to this book.

Reading this excellent book is like taking a time-machine back to the mid-1960s, when Ford's GT-40s and Shelby Cobra coupes battled reigning champion Ferrari in the world's longest sports-car endurance races. Add the plucky Chaparral team from Texas to the mix, and it was a great time to be a racing fan.

The book recounts Chaparral's upset victory at the 12-hour Sebring race in '65. It's got just the right combo of great photos (most or all by Dave Friedman, one of the best in the biz), recollections of many of the drivers and mechanics who ran the race, and text by Harry Hurst.

A must-have book for racing fans who remember the good ol' days, or anyone who wants to know what racing was like in simpler, less-corporate and arguably more exciting times.

A very good book on how to write better. It's like Strunk and White's "Elements of Style" with exercises. You can write directly in the book - it has a nice large format, and was clearly designed as a textbook.

The book is a basic primer, covering the essential elements of clear writing, without going further into the nuances of clear writing that a more detailed book might do, such as "On Writing" by Zinnser. Still, a good basic book on clear writing - by no means a complete an exhaustive summary of good writing tips, but quite usable to add to "Elements of Style", "On Writing", and "Plain English at Work".

This is the best book around on business writing.

The book came out in second edition in 1994 and includes how to write: letters, news releases, performance appraisals, reports, resumes, legal writing, news and feature articles. It's a practical handbook with so many useful style guides such as punctuation, word choice, spelling. A GREAT BOOK!

This is a wonderful book especially for those of you who love holiday traditions. Kids will love the familiarity of the tune (12 Days of Christmas) to go along with all the wonderful imagery of Halloween!! My daughter loves it..it's just a lot of fun. I give it the highest rating.

Great for the Classroom!

I highly recommend this book. I am an English as a Second Language teacher, and I used this book in my classroom in the days leading up to Halloween. It was a hit with the kids! We read a page a day and the kids chimed in as I read all of the previous days' verses. They learned some interesting new vocabulary (creeping, wizards, screeching) and had fun doing it. The pictures are as imaginative as the rhymes and also helped draw my students into the story. I wish I purchased the hardback version because my copy has become dogeared.

Read it for nostalgia or read it for enlightenment. A collection of major articles published in Rolling Stone between 1965 and 1987. Several are interviews, including Keith Moon, John Lennon, Mick Jagger, Sting, Bob Dylan, and Jack Nicholson. Then there are the "following the celebrity around for a day" pieces, and the political and social commentary, including that of Hunter S. Thompson. It's just a survey of Rolling Stone-ness for 20 years. Excellent journalism, and that goes for the substantial collection of photos here too.

I create full web marketing plans for my clients who want to break into the Internet via the web with a focus on search marketing and call-to-action oriented content. This little book takes note of several emerging Internet-based marketing trends.

With insights and latest data on the full range of media, including TV, radio, internet (incl. rich media), outdoor and much more, plus Top 100 Markets, at-a-glance section organization, and a helpful glossary, this pocket-sized reference is a quick, lightweight companion on the way to the office, cab or flight. Take it to the hotel and review before the big client meeting. There are tons of ways to make the most of this handy tool. I've seen how it can make the difference when quick numbers and insights are what's needed to sketch out a media buying plan.

Awesome! Thanks Ron. Just in time. I'm looking forward to buying other things from your store. I appreciate it. We just landed a major national media account with stores in 15 media markets, and for a small agency, data costs are just sky high. This is great.

21 Common Mistakes for 21st Century Business Etiquette & How Not to Make Them

Provides useful advice, not just on etiquette

Review Date: 2008-07-21
Marjorie Brody is a well-known coach, consultant and speaker
that I've had the pleasure of hearing several times . . . so when I came
across her cassette tape, 21 COMMON MISTAKES FOR 21ST CENTURY
BUSINESS ETIQUETTE AND HOW NOT TO MAKE THEM, I
jumped at the opportunity to listen to it in the hopes that I might
pick up an idea or two.

Was I ever disappointed!

Yet only because I gained a many more ideas than one or two . . . in
fact, my problem in this review is going to limit the tidbits
of information that I did gain.

Among them were the following:

* If you forget a name, introduce somebody you do know by saying,
"I don't believe you've met" [the other person]. That will always result
in the third person giving you his or her name.

* To be prepared for small talk, be interesting and be interested.

* Always include a subject line in your email.

* Respond to your email within 24 hours.

* People open doors for a purpose, not necessarily men opening
doors for women.

* The host of a lunch pays for the lunch, regardless of gender.

* Presenters need to be early and greet participants.

* When traveling, come prepared with lots of dollar bills
for tipping.

My only nitpick with this tape is the title . . . 21 COMMON
MISTAKES goes beyond just providing business etiquette advice . . . the
ideas can and should be utilized by just about anybody, no matter
what his or her field of endeavor . . . students also would find this
of value as they enter the work force.

I recommend this one!

I found this cassette very useful as a refresher course on manners. I had forgotten many of the pointers Marjorie Brody mentioned! It was great listening to it in my car during a long business trip. Many of us believe that we know about proper etiquette, however our actions show differently! This tape can really help.
