I purchased this book after attending an all day workshop put on by the author. She is so knowledgeable and her decades of experience and success with people who otherwise probably would not have been helped came through in her lecture, so I decided that I needed to spend more time with her ideas and I ordered the book. It is worthwhile for every therapist to read and it can help family members understand how and why those with extreme mental health disorders think and act the way they do. It also provides a unique roadmap for therapy that can benefit many who otherwise might not get the proper treatment.

This book is a must read for anyone trying to make sense of the incorporation of New Left ideals into today's mainstream. Jennifer explores & reports in a non-judgmental way how the largely-forgotten Economic Research & Action Project was able to rise above endemic racial, sexual & social prejudices & mores to provide impetus to the '60s liberation of people of color, women & other groups once on the fringes of "society". Moreover, because of her exhaustive depth, Jennifer has shown how writing "history" and indeed "herstory" while the people making it are still alive is absolutely crucial for proper exegesis. Jennifer's book puts you in the world of the '60s and makes you realize just how foreign it was...you feel the very difference in consciousness pervading the US before the counterculture movements changed it for ever & for better. A valuable lesson lest we take for granted the strides made by brave people like those in the ERAP. Moreover, in refusing to "idolize" or indeed lionize anyone, Jennifer's book weaves a tapestry that is both credible & incredible. Very germane book for anyone still alive in America! Her book will likely be a foundation work for future historians trying to reconstruct the mood and movements of the American New Left.

I picked up this book and couldn't put it down until I finished it. It captivates you with such honest sharing and deep thoughts of the ways that God moved in Che's life. The stories are inspiring and motivating to seek more of God and to have more of God in our lives.

Book in great condition. Delivery longer than expected with media mail. But found out that is normal.

If you like "Intro to Operations Research" by Hillier and Lieberman (0072416181), you will have two feelings about this book. The less-math-background people will find this is the best-fit for them for its less mathematical theories. Math-people will find this book is only introductory book. However, this book is not a substitution for 0072416181. This book is more application and focus on modeling and applying issues; while 0072416181 is more on solving. The spreadsheet application are now included in this book. Many traditional terms of OR are revised to make it more understandable, e.g., What-if (sensitivity analysis), Yes-No question (BIP). Several success stories and cases of OR/MS are given as well as the "how-to". I found this is a good book for business students or manager who has less time in solving than making money. Many sections are dedicated for popular problems, e.g., Inventory management, transportation, Forecasting, Project management. While this book is quite introductory book, the further study are given, e.g., IP, QAP, Goal Prog. After reading my review, please be silent for one minute to pay respect for Dr. Gerald J. In general, I do not enjoy reading textbooks, yet the Hilliers' text is exciting and could change your approach to solving problems. After reading this text, I have the confidence to dive into challenging problems. The case studies are complicated yet simple to follow. The text includes Professor Hillier's class notes, so a dedicated learner could teach him/herself. If you do any spreadsheet modeling, this is a textbook that you will want to keep within arm's reach.

Great Book! Simple but at the same same time uses great examples for the comparisons of the terms studied in the book!

Just how small can you made a radio controlled airplane that will carry a television camera and transmitter a few hundred yards and send back a picture showing what the bad guys are doing? First, the payload. New imaging sensors weighs about a gram (an American penny weighs 2.5 grams).

Enter the world of very small airplances or Micro Air Vehicles (MAVs). The big ones have a wingspan of about a foot. The small ones have a wingspan of 4-6 inches, birds do this regularly. The ultimate goal, a wingspan of about half an inch (think smaller than a honeybee). Airplanes of this size simply don't obey the rules of flying that apply to bigger craft.

This is an area where significant research can still be done by individuals, students, and companies who might get funding from the Federal government. But that is not to say that it is easy. This is a book put out the the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics and while it has a lot of interesting commentary, it also reports on the design studies both practical and theoretical that are being made in support of small wings, small propellers, tiny propulsion systems and the like. It is by no means a how-to book. Some of the craft, some of the theories discussed are quite advanced.

These essays all exhibit erudite scholarship, imaginative insights, a passionate involvement in American history and culture, and superb writing. Hogeland makes every page dramatic with telling details and little-known facts. Who would have imagined that two charismatic figures as disparate as William F. Buckley, Jr. and Pete Seeger had anything in common, but Hogeland's account of their often intentionally obscured early years elicits important similarities. And a walk with him through The National Constitution Center in Philadelphia is eye-opening and somewhat disturbing.
I considered withholding one star from my rating only because I was frustrated that there were only three sections in this superb book. I wanted more!

This book is a little treasure. Harris, a BBC investigative reporter, turns his critical eye on a number of mysterious phenomena and asks - did this really happen?

My only complaint is that he didn't include a detailed footnote system for checking his research, but he does give plenty of information that one could use to double-check him if one had time.

When he passed he got a nice obituary from Joe Nickell - and I just regret that I never heard of this book back when it came out. The reissue from Prometheus books is a very nice quality paperback. There are plenty of illustrations, and many cases which I'd never heard of before here in the States.

If you love mysteries, you'll find this book a lot of fun as he presents the mysterious "intact" and then gives the explanations in a friendly conversational manner.
