Ghost of fear street (Hide and Shreak) by R.L. Stine
Do you believe in ghosts? Well after reading this book you will. This is a chilling tale of a deadly game of hide and seek. This story chilled me to the bone. It was well written and it was very good, I liked it... The main character in here Randy Clay you will get attached to very fast. It all starts when she moves in to this little town on this street called "Fear Street" everyone knows something she doesn't. Later on she finds everyone goings nuts over June 10th (Pete's birthday) But what she doesn't know is that she will be playing hide and seek against a ghost named Pete who is living inside another persons body. There are just 3 catches... 1- she doesn't know whom Pete is living in. 2- who can she trust? And number 3 if he tags her she will lose the game and become the newest ghost of Fear Street.

Hide and Shriek a review by: Molly
Have you ever heard of a town where people play hide-and-go-seek for a dead little boy once a year? In the book Hide and Shriek by R.L. Stine a girl named Randy moves to a strange town on a street called Fear Street. Randy goes to school and sees a poster that says something about a boy's birthday. She heard many other students talking about the birthday. Her friend told her that they celebrate a boy named Pete's birthday once a year. All of the children in the town gather together and play a game of hide and seek.
Randy had to watch her little sister one night and saw a strange boy at the window and then he disappeared. Next Randy went to sleep over and asked her friends who Pete was. Her friends told her that Pete was a little boy who died and loved to play hide and seek. Her friend told her that you would play hide and seek on his birthday and in the woods at night. They told her that Pete's ghost would try to catch somebody and take over their body for a whole year. Randy thought that the strange boy was the person Pete had caught.
When the big day came almost every child in town came. Randy started to run and heard footsteps so she ran up a tree. She felt breathing on her neck and saw the strange boy. Randy ran to the cemetery and the boy followed. She saw Pete's grave and he told Randy he would take over her body. Little ghost children came and put Pete back in his grave forever. Randy and the strange boy were shocked and wondered if Pete would return again and take over someone else's body.
Will Pete play again? You have to read this book because you will be on the edge of your seat!

Ten Stars Would Be More Appropriate
Ms. Carr's THE HOUSE ON OLIVE STREET is that good. It has been quite a while since I've had the joy of reading such a satisfying book. Ms. Carr's characters became my friends; I laughed, cried, and shouted in triumph with them as each grew and experienced events that I could relate to, both as a struggling writer and simply as a person. Be prepared to put down everything else while you read; my world stopped while I experienced the lives of these remarkable women--Beth, Elly, Sable and Barbara Ann, and their families. Thank you, Robyn, for a terrific read! This book is beautiful.

A terrific piece of women's fiction
I've enjoyed all of Robyn Carr's romances, but approached this with a bit of caution since it's more women's fiction. I should have had more faith in Carr's talent. This is one of the most enjoyable books I've read in months, filled with beautifully constructed characters, relationships, emotion, and humor. (Poor Barbara Ann with her testosterone-ridden household of five hulking males was as funny as she was poignant.) The insights into different aspects of writers' lives were also dead on. I hope we see many, many more equally fine women's fiction novels from Ms. Carr.

for fans of Jennifer Crusie and Ann Rivers Siddons
Brilliant set-up--4 friends get together to finish the novel of their friend who died. This is by turns side-splittingly funny and heartbreaking. Each woman is someone you know well--the bestselling star novelist, the struggling paperback romance writer/underappreciated housewife.... They leap off the page. Pure entertainment in scene after scene. Can't wait to read her other books.

Perfect...perfectly evil
This book is one of those R.L. Stine books that aren't terrible and aren't perfect. A lot of parts were really stupid and boring. But towards the end, the book started to get much better. It has a HUGE surprise. There's only one problem with the end--it has a terrible epilouge.

The Prefect Date is the Perfect Book!!!
The Perfect Date, a book by R.L.Stine, is one of the best books I've read this year. To begin with, The Perfect Date is a good thriller. For example, one of the characters is a girl with a face deformed because of scars. Brady, the main character, has a girlfriend who is killed in a sledding accident. In the accident, her face gets torn up terribly. If she had survived the accident, her face would look like the scarred girl's face. In the book Brady meets a girl named Rosha. After he starts dating Rosha, the girl with the scarred face calls Brady telling him to stay away from Rosha. Another reason it's a good thriller is because when Brady is around Rosha, bad things happen. Such as: she spills coffee and scorched his hand, and coming home they got in a car accident, and she accidentally stabs him with a letter opener. The second reason this is a good book is because, once you start, you do't want to put it down. You want to find out if Allie, Brady's real girlfriend, catches him cheating on her. You also want to find out what's up with the girl with the scarred face. The third reason I like this book is because everything fits into one big circle. During the middle of the book, you can't figure out how this relates to that, but in the last chapter and in the epilog every thing gets explained and fits into place. Those are a few reasons The Perfect Date is the perfect book

OMG! This book is the BEST fear street I've ever read!
Omg! For one thing, if you haven't read this book, you need too! I read it a couple years ago and then I moved and forgot what it was called. I looked forever for it and I've read it like 7 more times. It's still great! It's about a girl and her best friend (Dawn and Jan) who don't really like science. So one day, they mix a bunch of chemicals together and make some type of formula. They find out that it bring dead things back to life. And they know cuz they brought back a frog, a dog, and a girl. The only problem is, they come back evil! Read it!!!

ONE OF MY FAVORITE FEAR STREET BOOKS OF ALL TIME!
THE BAD GIRL WAS SO AWESOME! IT'S ONE OF MY FAVORITE'S IN THE SERIES. THE PLOT WAS CREATIVE AND AWESOME, AND THE ENDING IS A SHOCKER. LET'S JUST SAY IT'S NOT YOUR USUAL FEAR STREET ENDING. THE ONLY THING I DIDN'T LIKE IS THAT YOU KNOW WHO THE KILLER IS ALREADY. BUT OH WELL. I STILL LOVE THIS BOOK AND I WILL CONTINUE TO LIKE IT. SO READ IT IF YOU ALREADY HAVEN'T!

:O
Well i'll admit i haven't read this book, but by the review below me it sounds SOooo much like Stephen King's Pet Sematary... which isn't exactly a bad thing, that book was fantastic. BUT, to me it seems a bit Copy-Catish--also this is one of the 'new fear street' books, in which you will also find a book called Camp Out in that series, which seems to be a Blair Witch Project wanna be . . . Hmm, R.L. needs to get his own ideas!

Absolutley Astounding-A sure thriller!
When I read the Cheerleaders Series, I wanted to see which book I liked best.Either The First, The Second, The Third, or The Evil Returns. So I chose The Second, for its thrilling story, another by R.L Stine.

Plot:The cheerleaders are back!(Debra, Kimmy and Corky)And they think the evil is gone!Heh, well are they wrong!Debra's strange readings about the occult tell her where the evil is and if it is there or not, and she feels it, so Kimmy and Corky have to believe her!Corky knew it was there when the horrible screams rang through her ears as she chanted in cheerleading, and when the first death came, of her boyfriend, Chip. But when the evil freezes Kimmy and Corky falls and breaks her arm, she needs a warm bath..and when she gets into the room, Kimmy's there! Is the evil in Kimmy?Read this book directly to the end, and you will know!(I hope this is less than 1,00o words..)

Fear Street Cheerleaders are totally sweet!
I thought this book totally rocked.i would tell you people the ending and who the evil is in but i won't spoil the fun surprise.the end battle part is really tight!i totally reccommend this book to all young adults/teens. check it out and defiatley read it trust me it's awesome

Before You Buy: Are You Sure You Can Handle This?
I have read this book twice! If you are a fan of R.L. Stine's work, then this book is a MUST! & If you have read "The Awakening Evil". This is a continuation of the first novel (The First Evil.. obviously) and is equally as frightening.

Story Line Is As Follows: Cheerleader gets possessed by an evil spirit, forcing her to kill classmates and lose control of her own body & mind.. Killing the evil spirit isn't as easy as they had originally thought! It's dead this time.. isn't it?

All and all.. This book makes for deliciously frightful reading time! I would HIGHLY recommend that you buy this book! There is NEVER a dull moment and this series is wonderfully well written.

Great book
I saw the movie "The Island on Bird Street" with my son and husband recently. It was such a touching film that we saw it again. I cried and will never forget the film. It should get an Academy award. After we saw the film, I ordered the book from Amazon because I wanted to know more about what happened to Alex. The first part of the book moves a little slow, but it needs to to describe all the characters and what is happening. The last half of the book is so moving I couldn't put the book down. I think it would be a great book for all kids to read in school when they are studying about WWII. But even without the historical backdrop, it is a powerful book showing how a young boy can overcome such awful odds and still survive. Alex struggles to survive by finding food in the ghetto with his pet mouse, Snow, and by making a hidden home in the ghetto. His lonliness is overcome by reading and meeting a few friends a long the way. He waits for months for his father to return not knowing if his father is alive or not. His faith that his father will come back for him sustains him. I think the book gives hope that we can overcome great adversity with faith and resourcefulness. I would definitely recommend the book and movie.

An Informative Book
This is an interesting book that really brings you into the mind of a Jewish child living during the Holocaust. It tells the story of an 11 year old boy named Alex who lives with his father in the Warsaw Ghetto.
One horrible day, Alex's father leaves and Alex is forced to live in a bombed out house on 78 Bird Street. There he must learn how to survive in the always threatening conditions. Until his father returns, Alex must always be on alert. The main character's bravery and courage is inspiring to all who read this book. At times it could be a bit dull, but over all this book was wonderful. Anyone who loves to sit down with a good book should read The Island on Bird Street.

A Great Book!!
The Island on Bird Street is set during World War 2/the Holocaust, in a ghetto in Warsaw Poland; the main character is an eleven year old Jewish boy, named Alex. At the beginning of the story, he escapes from being transported to a concentration camp with his father; he must try to survive in his previous house until his father returns.
I had to read this book for my Reading class at school: we had to choose between a couple of WW2 books, & I chose this one. Even though this opinion might not be attracting, this is a really good book. I hghly recommend this book: its very interesting to read about how Alex survived. Its hard to put it down, its so exciting and suspenseful!!!

Cosmetic Crazy
Scott is the new guy in town, and Crystal is sure that wearing lots of make-up will attract him. But she was wrong. Scott loves to kill girls who put on girly stuff like blush and lipstick. This was a really good Fear Street book, but not the best. I like the kind of Fear Street books where you have to think about who the killer is. In this book, Scott is obviously the killer.

dustin
This is about a boy who moves to a new town and kills girls who wear make-up and try to act to pretty. Crystal is that kind of girl and likes Scott but he doesn't like her at all. Crystals sister Melinda that is a plain girl is the one he likes, but when Crystal puts some make-up on Melinda, Scott gets's mad and decides he must kill Crystal to stop this. They kill him to save their lives. This is a good Fear Street book. I have read a couple of them and this is alright. I like them better when you dont know who the killer is but by far I would recommend this book to anyone.

Can you say "SCARY"!!!!!!!!!!
I read other great R.L Stine books but this has to be the ultimate best.

This book is about two girls,Rachel and Lynn, who have a major crush on Scott. He is Athletic, cute and everything else. But he had lost his girl friend at home so he decided he will get a good one who behaves. But even if Rachel and Lynn still think they have the chance of being his girl friend they don't because Scott is fed up with them. So now he wants to teach those unbehaving girls a killer lesson!

I give this book 5 stars for it's so scary and suspenseful that you can't put it down.

Truth Or Dare
it was an ok book. i have read better Fear street books then this. But it was kinda obivous at the end of the book who it was. It was easy to put down and i didn't spend my whole night wondering who killed who. but still a good book

Truth or Dare
Truth or Dare by R.L. Stine was the third Fear Street book that I have read, and I have never been able to stop reading these books. They are really great. This book starts out when a couple of friends were asked to go skiing for the weekend with a friend. There was a big snow-storm outside and that meant that they couldn't go skiing. They begin to start to play a game of truth or dare. A terrible secret gets out, but no one really makes a big deal about it until one of their friends is found dead outside and another missing. When they find out that two of their friends are dead, they start to suspect each other. With no car and no phone, there is no way to get home. You will not want to put this book down. This book is very good with a twist in the end. I would recommend this to anyone who likes to have chills run up their spine.

R.L. Stine does it again!!
The book Truth or Dare by R.L. Stine is a very exiting book. It is about when a couple of friends go skiing for the weekend. They stay at a little-known friend's shalet for the weekend. There is a storm out-side,and they can't ski, so they decide to play a game of Truth or Dare. A deep secret accidently slips out, but no one acknowledges it. The next morning, a the girl who ownes the cabin is killed. Who did it? Another person is missing, and the jeep, the only car is stolen. Is there a killer on the loose, or is the killer really with them all along? This story has a very twisted end, and it is very suspenseful! I reccomend you read this book.

A Really Fine Read!!!
If you like Wall Street and financial intrigue, you will love this book. The real beauty of it, however, is that you don't need to be a stock broker or lawyer to follow the story. Thrills galore!

Recommended for all Wall Streeters
The villain is modeled on Marc Rich; coincidentally I read it and started corresponding with the author just a week before Clinton pardoned Rich. A great anthropological study of the trading subsculture at the end of the 20th century. Very good, and especially great if you're an in-house counsel at a major house who works with derivatives.

The technical depth of Clancy, a Jance-like plot - very good
If you don't think the market can ever crash again, this book is not only entertaining, but it is also exceptionally educational in a not-too-painful way. The reality of the world's interlocked financial system is almost as bad as the "bad guys" in this financial thriller. With the exception of wanting to kill the occasional roadblock in the path to their financial profits, the bad guys in this book seem to think - and act - a lot like any other aggressive group of traders. So when young Wall St. attorney Rick Hansen takes over a job where his predecessor was mysteriously killed, and gets sucked into the complexities of the trading jungle, you're not sure if the system will topple over on its own, or with a little help from a criminal conspiracy using the latest super-computers and software wizardy. Even if you've never traded an option in your life, this is definitely a must read - like the early Paul Erdman (Crash of '79, etc.) novels.
