This book is a transcription of the Rolling Stones album that had rock & roll, blues, soul, and country all buried into it. The guitars in this album are excellent mostly blues progressions so if you are interested in blues guitar learn it from Kieth Richards and Mick Taylor who were the guitarists of this album. This is book is great for beginners and masters of the guitar.

This book would be good for anyone wanting a little insight into what happened to orphan children before our current welfare system existed.

The book can be read as an adventure story about orphan children surviving the streets of New York. It starts with a young orphan boy named Kip who runs with a group of boys who are simply trying to survive on the streets of New York with no adult assistance. It tells how they trade coal and find other ways to get food in order to survive. It even shows how easily they found themselves placed in jail or just disappearing off the streets to parts unknown. The story shows you a few different views of how children suddenly found themselves orphaned in the big city. You can't help but wonder what would have happened to children like this if the Children's Aid Society of New York hadn't been started by Rev. Charles Brace.

Then, the story takes you through the children overhearing the adults discussing how the children will only remain dependent on society unless they can be placed in family situations. Then we learn about the orphan trains. I only vaguely remember reading about the orphan trains in the past, but after reading this book, I would like to learn more. This touching story takes you all the way from the streets of New York to the orphan children being placed with farm families in Michigan who love and care for them. There is list at the end of the story for further reading on Rev. Charles Loring Brace and the orphan trains for people who want to learn more. This book is good for a boy, girl or adult who would like to read about how some orphan children survived in the late 1800s to the early 1920s.

Nice for child's reading or those not knowing the great female racer that well. A wonderful resource w/ rare photos and facts.

after the reading of boom bang a bang, I immediatly took the rights on this play, and try to translate it in french. But for a great translation, we change the words and keep the story intact, it became " belgium one point " who will now it's third years of running, don't miss it , whatever if you gay or not, just hope you'll enjoy as me ( I'm playing roy and I'm the director) and then discover the original text

This book has romance with substance, has action, suspence and not mushy. Would have liked it to be longer.d

Partly inspired by "The Lady and Her Bonds" story from Lefevre's 1901 book "Wall Street Stories." Subtitled "A Novel," because it is. It is longer and more slow-paced with "more story" than is the more popular "Reminiscences of a Stock Operator." I think Sampson Rock and Sam Rock are inspired by JP Morgan and his son Jack, respectively (read Ron Chernow's book "The House of Morgan" for their glum story - a real downer). However, the characters here are much happier than were the Morgans. This is a good read! This is similar to Bouck White's book "The Book of Daniel Drew," except Drew was a complete %$#!@ whereas Sampson Rock and Sam Rock actaully have some heart.

I used "The Thomas Guide" books since I was about eight year old. It is very clear map and help me a lot. I can find location quickly with this book. This map drew with digital computer. I suggested you to take look at this map.

Finally, a cd-rom that offers useful information for travelers and others interested in Savannah. As a satisfied owner of the Charleston Armchair tour, I was thrilled to find that other historic cities are also available in this quality product. With the included maps, you can choose any building in the historic district and get several pictures with information about architecture, history, and stories of the building. I especially enjoyed the 'front door' and 'gardens, squares, and parks' tours. The photography is beautiful and includes a number of panoramic 360 degree pictures. I can't wait to revisit Savannah again now that I know what to look for.

For once, a graphic book that lets the images speak for themselves. Outstanding printing, true to the essence. Highly recommended!
