Friendship with Someone Different than YouThis book contains three short stories. Each story is fast-moving, exciting and holds a unique morale about friendship. The two Main Characters, a Lion and a Lamb, meet in the first story and become Friends, "Now and forever". This unlikely friendship leads to exciting adventures. Finally, the full-color illustrations are outstanding. This is definitely an excellent book to be enjoyed over and over again by young children.

casual observations take on greater importancein an affable style, financial wizard-philanthropist Dreyfus' seemingly casual biography takes on a larger perspective, partly because of who he is,(of course), but mostly from his unselfish desire to share an important discovery. THE LION OF WALL STREET and the more recent version of A REMARKABLE MEDICINE HAS BEEN OVERLOOKED are essensially the same book, the paperback REMARKABLE an update of the hardcover LION

Great info for little known places and walks in London. This book tells about secret places in London. It includes walks into places that my husband, who lived in London for several years didn't know existed. It is a must have for the traveler who wants to see things that are a little different from the average.

Best map I have ever used!We are moving to LA and received The Thomas Guide as a gift from our relocation agency to get us started. It was fantastic! Every realators car we were in had one! It allowed us to manuver the city with ease. The pages are easy to follow and have clear labels. I for one am terrible at reading maps and even I could navigate acurately from this book. We intend to buy one for both of our cars as well as have one in the house for reference and for visitors. I don't plan on going anywhere in LA without having it with me!

Fascinating in detail --- sparked interest in maps.As a child growing up in Los Angeles, I knew the Thomas Brothers map to be always a household "must" and quite a special and unique institution, really. No citizen of L.A. should be without one, especially if one really wants to get to know the city. I myself spent countless hours in "exploring" in the map, and quite frankly was turned into a person who can find anything in any city and who truly became an "explorer" of sorts. That is, my adventures in the map were always followed by the real thing -- I'd hop on the good old RTD bus and head out to find it for real. I credit the Thomas Brothers for helping to make me the "can do," problem solving, adventurous person that I am today. On a recent visit to L.A., I spent a little time with the map again and noted that it now shows, with pink lines, the property lines of the old Spanish "ranchos." Wow! Absolutely fascinating! You can see how those property lines developed into main streets and city boundaries. Highly recommended! Every major city should have a Thomas Brothers, but then it might not be so special and unique!

Poor Lotta!Lotta, the youngest in the family, dreams that her sister and brother are bothering her favorite stuffed animal. She wakes up furious with them, and will not believe that they are innocent. On top of that, her mother tells her to wear a sweater that is itchy and scratchy. She starts to alter the sweater, and after trying unsuccessfully to even up the damage, completely destroys it. Of course her mother is angry. Since no one in the family appreciates her, she runs away to the neighbor's garage loft. The neighbor graciously lets Lotta "move in."
Fans of "Alexander and the Terrible Horrible No Good Very Bad Day" and Beverly Cleary's Ramona series will enjoy Lotta's story. The writing flows well both for read-aloud as well as beginning readers. As an elementary school library media specialist, I have recommended this book to many students and parents.

It is general enough that every agency would be able to use and should.
Have you ever been in a situation and thought you may have forgotten to ask something or collect something, with this pocket sized book you won't have to be worried of being chewed out, because you will get the questioned answered and the evidence collect.
I really see this book as a must, especially for the smaller agencies that don't have the luxury of being able to call out the dectectives, you are the detective.
