Organization change has become a constant in today's fiercely competitive business world. We are just beginning to learn some things about how to manage large scale organizational change; but have a long way to go. Knowing how to effectively manage organizational transitions can represent a core competency, and thus a competitive advantage for an organization.

The Transition Equation takes change management from the conceptual level to the specific. It does so by providing a practical and proven structure in the form of a series of phases with supporting methodology to help an organization engage in the quality thinking and interacting so critical for successfully managing a transition. In addition to the structure itself, the author's contributions in the areas of developing a translatable vision, sorting out strategies to form "leverage points", and crafting a master plan are I think particularly valuable contributions to our learning in this area.

In this book, the authors offer empircal proof -- derived from nearly 30 years of research in this area -- of treatments that work with children. Even better, the treatments, although psychologically valid, have their basis in common sense. For example, a child can't succeed at toilet training until he/she is able to dress himself. Therefore, one of the first steps in toilet training is to teach the child how to pull his/her pants up and down. I'm embarrassed to admit it, but I hadn't thought of that before I read this book, and it makes a lot of sense. It's a book that's filled with refreshingly simple -- and proven -- methods for handling common childhood behavior and medical problems.

A "must have" for any clinician working with children and adolescents. Christophersen and Mortweet provide a valuable contribution to the literature with this book. They present practical treatment interventions effective in treating a variety of disorders for children and adolescents. The information is presented in a thought provoking and stimulating manner, which generated ideas for me in my practice as I read it. I have used ideas and treatment approaches I gained from this book in my treatment/practice.

This book is clearly outlined and I was able to quickly jump to the parts that were most applicable to me as I approached a difficult treatment case. Christophersen and Mortweet provide a myriad of charts and handouts that I can use with my patients.

An excellent resource to have at your disposal in working with children and adolescents. Empirically supported treatment interventions are vital in today's managed care environment. This is an important tool to have in your "tool box" as you approach and work with patients, parents, and third party payers.

Pull your helmut strap tight and hold on for your life as RESCUE 1 tears through the streets of Baltimore in a mad dash to save lives. This account of actual responces of RESCUE 1, will give you a feel for what the fireman of Baltimore City face on each tour of duty. Bill Hall spins a yarn in this exciting and very realistic narrative. It has many fireground and rescue scene stories that are written in a way to peak the interest of all-- from the fire buff to the veteren smoke eater. However, this is not your typical fire department book telling one fire story after another until they all run together in the readers mind. Writing such as this robs these accounts of their excitment and adrenaline. And that just aint Bill Halls style. "Turnout" instead chooses to highlight the "unusual" runs that fireman face everyday. Some are funny, some are downright sad, but thay are all extremely interesting and all are true.

Greg MitrovichÕs intense scholarship enlightens a recent but suppressed historical period with mastery and ease of access for all. His lucid style and awesome research makes accessible the complexity of a tense period that threatened the American way of life. This book uncovers not only the escalating events but the dynamic and individualistic human elements within the U.S. administrations that sets the stage for dramatic, if not drastic, responses against the Soviet power. Highly recommended!

This is a first-rate and very, very well researched examination of a dangerous period in U.S history. Through recently declassified materials, the author sheds a bright light on U.S. policies and covert actions, clearly documenting that America's intelligence agencies acted under the authority of policymakers at the highest levels. A must read for scholars and intelligence practitioners.

And later, the Sligs knock em in head, and Abe was gonna die, if he not rescued all 99 mudokons. Now, it will be much more easy with Prima,s Official Strategy Guide. Now, what ya waitin for? Buy it!

Abe's Oddysee is quite a hard game! You need every bit of help you can get!So when this stradagy guide came out, it was a bogus!I love Abe, all he is out there to do, is save the fellow mudokons buts! A must read for anyone in or about to enter the vast realm of Maintenance Management. John Campbell takes you through the strategies with easy to understand terms and concepts. All the buzz words are there TPM, RCM, CMMS, .. etc.

This book is a very good introduction in order to know what the maintenance meaning

This book is an invaluable color photo history of the USAF during its first fifteen years as a separate branch of the service (1947-62). The photos are in many cases personal snapshots collected by the author from various people as well as photos by famous photographers such as William T. Larkins. As a former USAF pilot and avid model builder, I find this book to be a treasure-trove of information on colors and markings, types flown and by what units, and just a wonderful trip back to a glorious period in Air Force history. A must-have for the true aviation historian.

This book covers all the aircraft I ever flew as a USAF experimental test pilot. From fighters to bombers to cargo aircraft, any former pilot should be able to find the one aircraft he specialized in. Extensive photos in color show all the aircraft in their most resplendent designs. The author has done an outstanding job of capturing all milkitary aircraft in the fifteen year period described. the best,most useful book i have seen on the subject of mediation

There are many resources available on the topic of peer mediation, but we were searching for a reference that could not only give us insight into using peer mediation and and how it fits into the larger picture of conflict resolution, but a book that also gives a day by day training schedule for grades 3-12. The added bonus were the training posters also included! This book includes everything needed to implement a peer mediation program including possible ways to expand an existing program, a tracking form, and ways to evaluate the program. Gilhooley & Scheuch went the extra mile in giving relevent information that other references on peer mediation just don't have.

But Valkyrie Profile is one of the games that you really need a Strategy Guide to get the most out of it.

When you first start playing the game, it's all a little confusing... the main goal is to strenghten all of your character's into hero's before Ragnarok (the end of the world) but the clock ticks down, and every area/town/dungeon you enter takes up a certain amount of periods (their measure of time)

First starting out you might be a little unsure of what you are doing, since the game gives you an enormous amount of freedom, plus huge and intricate dungeons.

If you want to get the most enjoyment and understanding out of the game you might as well go ahead and buy the guide.

I'm among the many who feel like strategy guides can ruin the gaming experience, but with Valkyrie it's really just going to enhance the experience. The game is so beautiful, beautiful 2D graphics and a side-scrolling format, complex but with tons of freedom, wonderful music, and an interesting storyline with ties into Norse mythology.

The music is excellent, the game is excellent, and it's also pretty complex. Do yourself a favor!

Almost all RPG games that come out these days are bound to have a guide published. Valkyrie Profile is a game where the strategy guide helps a lot because of overwhelming dungeons that take hours to get by. The book saves tons and tons of backtracking in the game and shows the best recommendations for developing your party of characters. This is a semi-difficult game and the guide explains all the places you can only get through replays, and all the time periods. All in all, it's an engaging game, and the guide will really help you get a grip on how to manuever this captivating RPG game.

I bought a copy of this book from the author about 6 years ago and have found it to be the most useful investment manual I have yet discovered. It played an important role in planning for an early retirement, and I continue to use it in maintaing my retirement portfolio. Two chapters will appeal to an investor at almost any level of sophistication--one dealing with a program of dollar cost averaging adjusted for growth in market values, and one outling a system of "value averaging." The first helps investors to keep their contributions on track to meet their investment goals, and the second provides a rational basis for investors to sell shares, if they are so inclined, when the market departs significantly from a projected "value path." Both programs can be adjusted periodically to reflect changed assumptions about probable market returns.

I hardly know how to praise this book highly enough. My own mathematical skills are so poor that I periodically re-read the central chapters to remind myself of the logic I am following. But Edleson helpfully supplies some step-by-step examples of spreadsheet programs that will fully deploy the formulas he explains. This is a first rate book that deserves to be back in print at a reasonable price. But even at [the price], it's worth it.

If you're looking for a get-rich-quick scheme, this is not it. Dr. Edelson is currently Chief Economist for the NASD and was a Harvard finance professor when he published this book. In it he presents a variation of the well-regarded dollar cost averaging method and provides statistical evidence to suggest a 1% annual return advantage over DCA. A key difference is that it will, when valuations are high, employ sales. I think the hidden jewel in this book, though, is his technique for answering the crucial and reoccurring question, "Am I investing enough to meet my goals?" As the cornerstone of all my investments (401K, IRA, and brokerage accts) for several years, these methods have given me peace of mind and solid results. Requires no more than high school math skills, access to a spreadsheet, and as little as 30 minutes every 3-4 months. The noted finance analyst William Bernstein is also a big fan and provides additional perspective on his web site, Efficient Frontier.
