This book uses detailed case material to illustrate the various concerns experienced by patients who are dealing with infertility. It provides clear descriptions of the specific interventions that address many of these patient concerns. Deveraux and Hammerman have presented material in such a way that therapists are able to select appropriate specific interventions so that therapy can be individualized to address the concerns of a particular patient or couple. Infertility and Identity also describes effective interventions for patients who may still be struggling with the issue of infertility years after a successful pregnancy or adoption. This book is especially relevant at a time when financial constraints often necessitate therapy to be focused and time-limited. This book will be an excellent resource for clinicians who are helping patients deal with the many issues related to infertility.

This is a much-needed resource for a major problem area for many couples. Deveraux and Hammerman have written an informed and useful book about a seldom-addressed problem. Of particular interest are their challenges to traditional thinking. As a psychologist often working with clients with infertility problems I found their concepts challenging and useful, full of practical information. Although directed to the professional this book is quite readable and down-to-earth, and will be as valuable resource for individuals and couples struggling with this problem. Highly recommended. As the Media Officer for III Marine Expeditionary Force in Okinawa, Japan, I face the daily challenge of communicating with a community that is strongly influenced by media organizations distinctly biased against my organization.

Far from being "free press" as understood from the American perspective, the Japanese media operates in "press clubs" which control access and flow of information to a great extent. The two leading local print media organizations in Okinawa are directly linked the the Communist Party and have clearly stated that their editiorial objective is removal of US forces from Okinawa.

What a revelation! We have been told for years that our mind harnesses the power to overcome all. In Ross and Ronn's book, these principles are succinctly laid out with techniques and exercises directly related to race driving. I recognized many situations in my own racing and have used their exercises to improve my performance and confidence on the race track. This book is a must read for anyone in racing (or in life)who wants to ensure consistency. For those who think racing is all guts - you are missing the boat (or shall I say the checkered flag) by not reading this book! PS - They also have a wonderful seminar too!

The biggest obstacle Americans suffer to any sort of progress on urban problems is the Big Lie that after being forced to lie in their own excrement for decades, America's poorest cities can right themselves through a little more efficiency (in the conservative version) or Great Society spending on "community development" (in the liberal version). Rusk shows why community development doesn't work, and also shows why most cities (other than a few immigration hubs like NYC and Sun Belt cities with unlimited annexation powers) simply can't compete with their suburbs without outside help (or at least without a termination of outside hostility, such as highway spending that drags development ever further into the suburbs): if a city has no tax base and poor people who make public services more expensive, it can't compete with the suburbs, efficiency or no efficiency. Like Cities without Suburbs (also by Rusk), this is a masterpiece.

Rusk's book roots out the causes of concentrated urban poverty, proposes solutions, and provides examples of success stories. Rusk convincingly argues that poor racial minorities should be welcome to live in functional neighborhoods, such as the suburbs. I attended a conference at which Rusk discussed "Inside Game, Outside Game," and I was delighted to hear one politician declare that that book should be required reading for every politician in my state. I agree.

For teachers who have a hard time getting their students to write, this book is just for them. It is a compliation of strategies that teachers may use in trying to teach writing to their students. What I liked about this book is that the authors are teachers and the strategies that they list in their book have actually been implemented in their classrooms. The ideas in this book will be of great use to novice teachers as well as seasoned teachers who have run out of ideas. I highly recommend this book to everyone, it is easy to read and understand.

This book is for any teacher looking to spark student interest in creative writing. With sample writing ideas in categories like introspection, narration, point of view, etc., you're sure to find an idea to replace the old tiresome routine writing ideas in the back of most textbooks. Inside Out is a virtual artesian well of creative writing juices, and the short chapters are quick reads during the limited time teachers have to plan for next week's lessons. I read this book during my methods courses in college, and now, eight years later as I change jobs to finally become a writing teacher, I've come to Amazon.com to specifically find this exact book. It's all I'll need!

I met the authors of this book and i highly reccommend to anyone who wishes to learn more about Internet Marketing to buy it. Dr Dave Chaffey - one of the authors of this book was my lecturer in E-Commerce Communications and my supervisor during my thesis. His knowledge, research and academic background on the subject will provide you the most essential tools to understand what Internet Marketing is all about. Don't think about missing this opportunity. The book is well structured, written in simple english and contains excellent examples of how the major e-commerce players in the market use Internet marketing to promote their products. This book is a must. Excellent value for money.

Do what she says and you WILL get that job. Much more than just an interviewing book. Learn how to look at yourself through the eyes of the interviewer.

This is an invaluable book for people who are just entering the workplace. However, it may be even more valuable for those who are changing careers or have been working for years and may have forgotten how to give yourself an edge without seeming to boast.

Ms. Kay has included many valuable exercises that (although time consuming) will give you a fresh approach to showing yourself in the best possible light. You will lose the interview jitters because you "know" what you want to say.

Through the exercises you will gain new knowledge of your own skills and how to present those skills in the context of the job interview, instead of just blowing your own horn.

This is a terrific book and it does work.

I have been in the public community MH system for 30+ years and find this to be the best resource I've ever encountered. I also have used it in the community college basic counseling skills class I have taught for the past four years. It is filled with great resource material, clinical vignettes, role plays. It doesn't get any better than that. One of the few college texts worth the price in my opinion.

This is by far the most useful textful I have ever used. As a graduate student in psychology, I have often used this text as both a training resource for my education and a problem solving guide in my clinical work. Written in language that you don't need a degree to understand, this book presents clinically applicable strategies for working with both children and adults in a variety of "helping" settings. That is, it reviews many of the basic skills one needs to talk to people effectively as a counselour or therapist. Each chapter includes detailed explanations, relevant examples, and exercises for integrating the discussed skills and/or interventions for your own use. It's one of the few resources that presents useful and relevant approaches to relating to people in a readable and understandable context. Best of all, this textbook makes an effort to discuss many of the issues facing "helpers" in the modern world of managed care. It's absolutely the best resource out there for developing and honing intelligent clinical skills!

I forgot to mention that Judith Ennamorato's book delves into taking advantage of one's intuition in all strats of one's life from personal relationships, to choice of vacation spots, to career choices, to decisions in business.

I think this book is a valuable reference for anyone interested in tapping into his or her own intuition. Through interviews with successful people, Ennamorato brings to the reader real live experiences telling how others used their intuition in the development of their own success. Interspersed with information about others use of their intuition, Ennamorato provides valuable insights of her own. I have re-read this book several times.
