This is a handy book to have for clinical rotations. Sure the PDA is great too but this gives you a little snapshot of the most likely things you will see in ambulatory care.

Very helpful, quick reference to almost every primary care scenario.

This small but wonderful book is very useful. Packed full of facts, recommendations, dosages and treatment parameters. No matter if you're a med student, resident, PA, NP OB doc or a primary care provider, if you practice woman's health this is the best 12 bucks you will spend this year. Guaranteed!

I love the Current CLinical Strategies series but this is my favorite.

I am an OB/GYN resident and I have had the third edition of this book since medical school. I use it more than the advanced residents handbook. This book gives you the basics, exactly what you need, when you need it, labs, orders, etc. Its a must have for every medical student thinking about OB/GYN. If you're crazy enough to go that route.

This book is a very fine compilation, spanning a whole range of technical and non-technical aspects of information warfare, and including my own invited chapter on "Creating a Smart Nation: Information Strategy, Virtual Intelligence, and Information Warfare." This is a basic text and those in charge of our information warfare segments today would do well to read it again and again because most of them are focusing on one tiny slice of the IW mission, hot bits.

This book is an excellent series of articles on the subject of information warfare written by some of the leading authorities on the subject. Very current and very thought provoking.

This book really covered everything from your firarms to your team members. Also it was so simple to follow what the text said. It gave me full satisfaction

I found this book highly readable, practical, and engaging at a theoretical level. I came away learning some new therapeutic techniques, but even more so the book helped me explore a very different way of thinking about depression (or other mental health problems). The authors do a good job contrasting a contextual view of depression with the other major models including biological, cognitive, and interpersonal. This is not your run-of-the mill psychotherapy book. Buy it and you won't be dissapointed!

Christopher Martell, et.al.'s Depression In Context covers strategies for action in the management of depression. It's one of Neil Jacobson's last contributions to the study of depression and here he works with Martell and Michael Addis in presenting behavioral approaches to treating depression.

"This book is about designing effective organizations. It emphasizes that design is a key task of the leader. It suggests that effective organizations are necessary for competitiveness and they are a growing source for competitive advantage. The focus of the book is therefore on equipping leaders with the understanding and the tools necessary to create organizations that are superior to those of their competitors."

In this context J. Galbraith :

* examines the forces (buyer power, variety, change, and speed) that are shaping organizations.

* presents the organizational design framework in the form of "the star model". In the star model, design policies fall into five categories :

(1) Strategy,

(2) Structure,

(3) Processes,

(4) Rewards,

(5) People.

* looks at policy areas/dimensions that determine the structure of an organization : specialization, shape, distribution of power, and departmentalization.

* discusses the lateral processes as a multidimentional aspects and the ability to be responsive to products, customers, functions, geographies, and work flow processes.

* focuses on three organizational design models : functional integrators, the distributed organization, and the front/back hybrid structure.

* examines virtual corporation as a network of independent companies.

"In conclusion", J. Galbraith writes, "I wish to emphasize once again the role of leader. I see the leader as a decision shaper rather than a decision maker. The decision-shaping role is achieved through the organizational design. The star model provides the management-controlled policies that will influence how others make decisions."

A "must" reading for all executives managing living organizations and their human assets.

John Nunn is another great chess author who is unashamed to call himself a fan of the game, and a fan of the players. This book is a very fascinating historical journey through several hundred years of chess games, including games and annotations. I don't know which I loved more: the games, or the text....great book!

I have been too frugal to go buy this revised edition of The Development of Chess Style, but have thumbed through a friend's copy, and like it very much. The text has been completely rewritten in algebraic notation and the diagrams are now placed where their positions occur in the text rather than in the middle of the page as in my old edition. The portion written by Euwe has only been subtly revised by Nunn through the use of unobtrusive footnotes. He completely rewrote the section on the Soviet school of chess and added sections on Fischer, Karpov, and Kasparov (as well as a few of Kasparov's most recent nemeses).

It's the best book about case studies I have ever read. It was very useful for practicing my skills.

Differentiated Instructional Strategies: One Size Doesn't Fit All by Gayle Gregory, and Carolyn Chapman is great tool to compliment any teacher's personal resource library. As a novice to teaching and classroom instruction, I found this book to be very enlightening. The discussion of standards based classrooms, student expectations, multicultural & student diversity, cognitive variation, as well as societal and technological change is threaded though this book. This book defines a simple educational philosophy that success for any teacher is through assessment, effective planning, and effective strategical implementation to measure student performance. Today's classroom demands ongoing cirriculum development and adaptation to classroom instuction through best practices. The techniques in this book outlines a learner's needs, creating a receptive climate for learning, assessment, as well as various innovative strategies for cirriculum success.

Differentiated Instructional Strategies: One Size Doesn't Fit All by educators and education specialists Gayle H. Gregory and Carolyn Chapman is an informative, "user friendly" guide specially written for classroom teachers, in order to introduce them to the method of differentiated instruction that involves carefully adapting curriculum and instructional approaches to the specific and individual learning needs of each student in the diverse classroom of a plural society. Individual chapters address the importance of creating a climate conducive to learning, effective curriculum approaches, assessing one's students and much more.
