A friend bought this book for me as a present. By the way there are two authors. Diana Plater & Ollie Smith. It was a great read; inspiring, funny and educational. I had heard only a little about Australia's stolen generations of Aborigines, and this book explained that it went back generations. Diana Plater, the co-author is a journalist and she managed to capture an overview of decades of events of the Australian Land Rights movement vividly. I'd recommend this book to anyone wanting to know more about Australian history and Aboriginal people, as well as being serious it's a laugh, the authors are lots of fun and have many stories to share. A good read.

I cannot praise too highly this collection of poetry spoken by the late Richard Burton. Every poem is read with deep understanding, clarity and passion. It has introduced me to new works, and led me to reinterpret poems with which I was very familiar.

The Rime of the Ancient Mariner is read with a dramatic flair very different to the standard poetry reading - Burton is alive to the drama of the piece. The Dylan Thomas poems communicate the sense of having known the author, drank with him and respected his talent and his tragedy.

My favourite tape, though, is the second, with a great selection of relatively short poems of all periods, from the stark Presbyterianism of 'Timor Mortis Conturbat Me' (which, by the way, apparently disturbed Burton immensely), through the love poems of Donne, Raleigh and Marvell, and into the early twentieth century English authors like Betjeman. Another great reading is the 'Desiderata' - which moved me so much that my wife and I used it in our wedding ceremony.

The tapes make you wish there were more recordings available. I would love to hear more - particularly some of his readings of the First World War poets and of Larkin and Auden (if they are extant).

I urge anyone to buy this audiotape - I have found it the best incentive to enjoy poetry in its purest form.

This book is useful as a how-to for those taking their first steps towards understanding outsourcing, or as a handy refernce to seasoned CRM professionals like me! I find myself consulting the index and re-reading highlighted areas regularly for concise definitions and real-world examples.

This book isn't a "how-to," but rather a thoughtful dissertation on "what-is." It deals honestly with the conscious and subconscious decision-making process inherent in mating. As both a man and a person, I am grateful to Dr. Remoff for writing this book.

Linden's report is one of the most disturbing books I've ever read. It reveals how some of the superstars of the ape language experiments of the '70s, as well as several lesser-known primate research subjects, were callously discarded after the funding (and subsequently interest) dried up. With a few happy exceptions, their lives are now miserable -- or over.

It's as bad as the chimps from the space program, who after years of careful training were sold to laboratories for medical experiments. Most of Linden's subjects -- after being reared in human company and taught to use sign language or symbol-boards -- were sold to laboratories, placed in zoos, or attempted to return to the wild (with disasterous results).

The image of a despondent gorilla in a dank concrete zoo cage, signing desperately to passers-by "get me out, get me out!" will haunt me forever.

This book is written in Germany. It is very difficult for a English reader to understand it.

This book is written from a point of view of Clarissa - a woman standing trila for murdering her ex-lover. The problem is ... she can't remember it. Having amnesia after a car-wreck (which happened a cople of hours after the estimated time of the murder), she is herself questioning her own guilt.
Allthough amnesia as a plot device was horribly overused in books, movies and TV, it works good here. The court scenes are solid and sometimes brilliant.
The characters of the novel are lifelike, and the relationships between Clarissa, her lawyers and her inmates could keep your interest even without the mystery part of the novel.
This may be not as strong as "Presumed Innocent", but definetly one of the strongest debute legal thrillers since then.
Fans of Scott Turow should check out this book.

For people who want to understand the story of Jesus, but don't have the time to read the Bible, this is a wonderful start. Daniel Partner gets to the bottom of the teachings of Jesus to the people and his disciples. I wasn't able to put this book down. The author puts the biblical accounts of Matthew, Mark, Luke,, and John, into one complete, chronological rendering of His story and teachings. It is a easy read and well worth your time and money. It help me to better understand His words and is a wonderful tool to understanding the bible.

This book is not for gym like training. It's grappling training and not health training the traditional way. I work as a personal trainer in Sweden and have use the book as inspiration for training my martial arts athlets. Buy it if you want to improve your strength in martial arts, if not buy something else.

This is the first volume of Grimshaw's work and it's very impressive. Shows his most chalenging projects in the period between 1988-93, with texts, model shots, sketches and computer-generated images.
