HIDDEN BEDROOM PARTNERS: NEEDS AND MOTIVES THAT DESTROY SEXUAL PLEASURE

There is a new and dangerous phenomenon creeping into the modern bedroom. Millions of couples are having sex when they really want and need something else--affection, intimacy, reassurance, revenge, escape from boredom or to express anger. This book is a guide for discovering "sexual sex"--intense, pleasurable sex, free of hidden emotional needs. Each chapter describes one of these needs, its whys, wherefores and deleterious effects. Exercises, homework assignments, preventive measures, and other solutions are suggested for correcting the problem or improving an already good relationship. The authors also tell us, in fascinating detail, how we have learned to misuse sex and why we continue to do so.

Hopkins' work is a joy to behold. He combines all the skills of a truly contemporary architect with an interest in new technologies and materials as well as a deep knowledge and appreciation of traditional construction and history. His practice has produced some powerful contextual work such as the Parliament Building in London, the Inland Revenue Buildings in Nottingham as well as amazingly elegant work like the Earth Centre in Edinburgh and the Schlumberger buildings in Cambridge.
The work is timeless. The book is a beautiful compendium of projects and is lavishly illustrated as well as having some interesting essays by Colin Davies as a well as an interview with Michael Hopkins himself.

This book is fantastic. It is different from any other astrology book I have read. It explains in a very understandable way how the planetary lineup on your date of birth affects your energy exchange and compatiblity with others. Using the information in this book, I have charted compatibility on ex-boyfriends, ex-husbands, couples I know, family members, co-workers, and so far it has been 100% accurate. I will never again enter into a relationship without referring to this book (it takes about 5 minutes to check a persons compatibility). I continue referring to it and I keep it on my coffee table at all times. This book really changed my life, in that it has proven so accurate that if I meet someone on the internet, I ask them their birthdate and automatically know if it is worth continuing the friendship. The only thing missing in the book is that it does not say anything about people born on a cusp. Otherwise, it is excellent, and I know that this is a book that I will use for the rest of my life.

This book is extremely well written and easy to follow. The information provided in the book is very valuable. I would highly recommend this book to anyone.

I've read other romantic ideas books and although they were good, this one was the best. I liked it because it was easy to find what I was looking for. I'm an older man, 68 years old and have been with the same woman for the last 20 years. We had forgotten how to romance each other. We have used some of the date ideas and the bath ideas, and have even learned some new kissing techniques. This book has really helped put a spark back in our lives.

The approach to architecture taken by von Gerkan Marg und Partner is exceptional, as the models pictured here testify. (Not only have I read the book, but I've visited their offices and the models on display.) Allow this book to impress and inspire you to appreciate an architecture that is modern, yet extremely humane, simple, yet rich.

I read this book for a course on HIV. It was the only one that I could find that gave a clinical look at the unique effects a partner's death can have on the homosexual community. This surprised me since AIDS has taken an especially large toll on the gay population. The author teaches us unique aspects of grieving given the circumstances that many people don't view the death of a partner to be the same as the death of a spouse. Also delves into the fact that the relationship may not have been something others were aware of or agreed with. All in all this is an educational and moving book. Anyone interested in (or already working in) the social services field should read it.

Richard Hardy's LOVING MEN, GAY PARTNERS, SPIRITUALITY, AND AIDS is a thoroughly convincing argument for the strength of gay spirituality. Based on extensive interviews with gay men caring for partners who are HIV+, the book demonstrates that gay relationships can foster a deep spirituality marked by love, commitment, and self-sacrifice. In a culture in which churches often deny that such spirituality exists in gay relationships, the book's message is one that needs to be heard. Hardy (who has himself provided long-term care for a partner who died of AIDS) concludes that the spirituality fostered by many gay relationships is one that deserves attention in mainstream churches, since it has the hallmarks of holiness, as defined in traditional understandings of spirituality.
