As a Parisophile and one who visits Paris as often as I can, I looked forward to seeing this book but was sorely disappointed. There are names, addresses, and phone numbers but no other information about the businesses listed.

A far better bet is to pick up a FREE copy of "Les Pages Jaunes" at any Paris hotel or information center (there are English translations in it). It's more like an American yellow pages book, with (albeit "paid") ads in it telling much more about businesses. New issues of "Les Pages Jaunes" are always being published, so when you pick one up, you're better assured of getting up-to-date information.

Diary of Jünger when he was a German officer in Paris under the German occupation.
This is a very disappointing book. It contains only superficial remarks on the war, on the German occupation, on Hitler (Jünger was a Nazi opponent for Nietzschean reasons, see 'On the Marble Cliffs'); further, notes on philosophy, language, some special situations, his sentiments. Everything without serious interpretations.
A waste of time.

Compact Guide Disappointing

After reading the reviews for the Paris for Less guides I selected the "compact" guide as one of the travel books we would take on our family trup to Paris. (We also bought the London for Less "compact" guide.) The map in the book was useful. However the coupon items were not really for "major" attractions and were all for a single user not for a family. IF you're going to use "Paris for Less" get the larger guide not the compact version.

I should have shuttered my wallet .....

It's books like this that should make me happy to be a reviewer if only to warn others of it's abject stupidity.

I guess, first published in 1906 as a private collection of 150 copies, the Grove Press, in one of their weaker editorial moments, dedcided to run this Blue Moon novel in 1987.

The book is a first person account of exactly what the title says, I guess that makes me the fools, whereby the narrator basically goes to over 14 different houses of ill repute at the turn of the century in Paris and describes what he sees. I guess if you are into classic wallpaper of furniture this shoiuld be a reference novel ...

So lets see what does this book have, plot .. NO, any emotion other than boredom... NO, eroticism... NO, sex .... barley noticable, any, and I mean any semblance of any story .... NO ... save your hard earned mony fols .... tis is THE WORST

Tip #51: Dont buy this book

I cant believe I bought this. It is completely outdated and has no real information. The book basically gives you 50 tips to improve your productivity. However, the tips are so basic that even an 18 year old intern could figure them out on the first week. Worthless information.
