Classic and TastyThis book includes several classic pasta dishes, using a broad variety of ingredients. You may find the perfect dish, respecting your personal dislikes (in case you don't like anchovies, you will easily switch recipes and find out another tasteful one). However, I expected more creativity or a more technique oriented book by the Cordon Bleu seal. Although, it does not innovate in pasta cooking or even increase your skills on making fresh pasta at home, it is a very good classic italian guide.

"A riot in a parrot house"So many books of English diplomatist Harold Nicolson are still in print. Books about him and his family continue to pour out. It is a pity, therefore, that PEACEMAKING 1919 is not still readily available to readers. --In November 1918 at the time of the armistice, Nicolson was a passionate Wilsonian. Within four months, at the Paris peace conference, he was thoroughly disillusioned. Wilson had too quickly made territorial concessions to Italy, contrary to the principles of the very Fourteen Points which had made a Wilsonian of Harold Nicolson. And the American idol would fall farther and faster thereafter. --Woodrow Wilson rendered more and ever more to Caesar while asserting that he was doing the work of God and the American people. Nor was Wilson the only sanctimonious hypocrite among the leaders of the Allied and Associated Powers at Paris. --Nicolson's diaries and reflections convey, as he intends to convey, the sense that the peace made at Paris to end World War I was the product of poor planning, disorganized diplomacy, growing fatigue and a very large disconnect between experts and decision-makers. --PEACEMAKING 1919 was written as a manual for young British diplomatists who would face future peace conferences. If they heeded Nicolson, they would then be in a position to avoid the disaster known as the Treaty of Versailles. For peace should not be made, as it was in Paris in 1919, in an atmosphere of a "riot in a parrot house." -OOO-

A topographical perspectiveThis book contains many Picasso photographs at various stages of his life in Paris (before he moved to Vallauris). Did you know this revolutionary artist spent a great part of his life in a very "typical" flat of the most "bourgeois" district of Paris (8th arrondissement)? Paintings are displayed both along a geographical and a chronological perspective which is a refreshing and appropriate approach for such a book. This guide is practical, full of facts. You will like it.

A good introduction to the world of RadionicsThis book gives the reader the theory, background, and use of the SE-5 Plus Intrinsic Data Field Analyzer. It is a good introduction into the world of Radionics, however simplified and basic. If one is interested in learning more about the possibilities of Radionics, this is a good book to read.

Remembering ParisThe primary reason to purchase this book is the wonderful illustrations. While the narrative is evocative, it is a bit dark for me. None the less, having read this book I would love to visit Paris again to discover the city which Tillinac has so vividly described.

Excellent book for studentsRepublican France is one of the best books I have read in my coursework in European history. The author has the knack to discuss nuances but does not lose the reader in arcane vocabulary or irrelevant theory. What a good study!

Well worth a read!William Wharton has written an in depth portrait of an artist with a zest for life but with the inevitable frustration and depression of coping with an aging body. This book left me with a strong image of the man and his Parisian surroundings. I am sure many men would relate to this book and it helped me, a woman, understand the emotions that can affect elderly men. Maybe it was my shortcomings but I found the short verse lines which intersperse the narrative, not always helpful and often blocking the flow of the story. Overall another William Wharton delightful novel - I am a fan!

Well drawn, kinky, explicit graphic novel. Both my fiance and I enjoyed this well drawn, erotically charged graphic novel. Containing several separate stories, this book has something to arouse both males and females. Realistic watercolor and graphite b&w images depict a variety of sexual scenarios definately on the kinky side. As an artist myself, I can appreciate the skill and time that must have gone into this book. As a sexual being, I responded to the eroticism. (v.2 has been published as well)

About the best Charles Paris mysteryThis actor/detective is truly unique to this genre. If you haven't discovered Charles Paris, I highly recommend that you do. As an actor, I find him wildly amusing and engrossing. I've never read a Charles Paris mystery I didn't like. Situation Tragedy has a particularly fabulous cast of characters. With the British sit com being what it is these days (on the upswing: AbFab, Keeping up Appearances, etc.) this book can't help but entertain. Loved it.

the sleeplessAs a fellow author at Xlibris Publishing, I was attracted to the title because I have a similiar one for my book, SLEEPLESS IN STORYLAND. I read the first chapter, liked the style snd the content and -- as soon as I'm finished with my writing -- will probably buy the book.
