Now a confirmed francophile after honeymooning in Paris, my daughter is delighted with this collection of authentic bistro recipes and music. With the CD and recipes, easy enough even for her novice cooking skills, she can re-create the Parisian mood at home while entertaining family and friends. The only thing lacking are more photographs of the prepared recipes as food is to be savored by our mouth, nose and eyes.

The Bonfigs win a trip to France. When they get there, the Bonfig parents are too tired to order any supper, but Bertie can't wait. He sets off to explore. His parents wake up to find him gone. Where was he? In the kitchen, ordering supper.

It's a cute story with lots of illustrations and a basic introduction to Paris landmarks, hotel words, and food.

The narrative of Paris was outstanding and very accurate! The love story was captivating and grabbed you. Highly recommend for those who like to read romance novels.

A very interesting study that does not only talk about a part of the History of France: it also demonstrates with vivid examples that a city is a living being by itself, which is not only transformed by its inhabitants but transforms and influences them as well. Paris and the Parisians are two species living in symbiosis, and Trout's excellent work about "historical socio-urbanism" gives us both a detailed view of baroque Paris and an interesting insight about our own present-day cities and our own relationship with them, making us learn that the man-city interaction works in both directions.

Claudine is in school and has good friends and boy friends that she often talks to and refers to in this book. She has as many problems as she does good events. She goes through her life as a journey and these four stories (claudine at school, claudine in Paris, and Annie and Claudine) she describes it in a college reading level but anyone who isn't is still able to understand it and get the gist.

With the Disney animated movie as inspiration for this story and illustrations, lonely Quasimodo, with only a trio of "Three Stooges"- like gargoyles for company, rescues a kitten, who becomes his friend. When he sees the sad little girl who lost the kitten, Quasimodo does what a real friend would do, despite the sacrifice to himself. Of course, there`s nothing like this in the Hugo classic, but it stands on its own as a warm children`s story.

Mrs. Leavell taught a course for ministers' wives at New Orleans Baptist Seminary. This book is a wonderful summary of the things I learned in class and is a must for every minister's wife.
