This book is one of the early books on origami and written by 2 American legends who lead origami in USA and started the rise in origami and the popularity origami currently enjoy.

This book contains a lot of simple models, easily folded by beginners. The models folded has a lot of practical applications. In general, if you use the correct colours in folding the model, you can get a really effective and eye catching model.

There is section on Christmas decorations which I use even today. Use bright shiny paper and hang up the origami decorations on your Christmas tree and listen to the "oohs" and "aahs" of kids as they admire the decorations. The decorations come in many shapes and often require more than a piece of paper to fold. This is a blessing since this allows you to control the colour of the model. They are usually very easy to fold although assembling it could present a challenge to begineers.

This is an excellent book for children aged 6 to 10 who like to do arts and crafts projects. The instructions are easy to follow and the pictures are colorful. The book inspired me to plan several art projects over the summer. A must have for rainy days or when it is just too hot to go outside. Buy it!

Absolutely one of the best how-to, interactive books I've ever had the pleasure of working through - and I'm not exactly artistically gifted. Carmen Lomas Garza has compiled a series of papel picado/cut-paper art projects with excellent instructions on folds and cuts, the elements of design, and the tools and materials needed to make successful papel picado banderitas/banners. Strong on helpful hints and technique, this book allows you to learn as you go through so that you can add real variety to any cut-paper project whether it be the simpliest or the most complex. My sister and I got together a small group - 3 adults & 2 youngsters - and totally enjoyed creating several papel picado projects. Hands down, The Fan, was the overwhelming favorite of our little group of novice banderita makers. For you who have not read any books on Fuller, or for anyone wanting to read a brief but concise book on her life and works, this is the one to buy. The clear yet scholarly bio portion juxtaposes events and writings and is thoroughly footnoted, and the extensive documents section includes letters, articles and essays Fuller wrote, as well as what her contemporaries wrote about her. I'd never heard of Fuller before reading the book (okay, I confess: I had to buy the book for Dr. Kornfeld's class, and I'm glad I did!), and now I can see how her words influenced the abolitionist and women's rights movements. I thought I 'got it' before, but now I truly have.
