I love Joan Irvine's books. I am an art teacher and I use it in my classroom from middle school on up! The kids like it and find the instructions easy to follow. Everyone can be successful and creative. They find they don't think they know how to do it until they've tried. Joan gets them started and then the kids take off from there!

This is the second book on the same subject. This one teaches you more ideas for pop-up cards. Also shows you how you can make GIANT pop-ups that can be used for playing in and around-sort of a scene for kids to build around. Again written for children but a good book for beginners in making pop-ups.

I bought another all-inclusive book on this subject but this book was the (marbled) frosting on the cake.

I have found this book to be very useful for writing all my research papers. It explains very clearly and simply how to research and organize a research paper, as well as how to document sources. It also gives pointers on how to argue your thesis and use logic effectively. There are many helpful exercises throughout the book. I would highly recommend this book to teachers and parents homeschooling their children as an effective method of teaching kids how to write research papers. My only complaint is the lack of an index to look things up in.

Many times it is not knowing where to go with an idea that leaves us staring at blank papers or screens. Barbara Lenmark-Ellis makes it easy for everyone to figure out HOW TO WRITE THEMES AND TERM PAPERS: get the reader's attention; make a short and sweet statement about the topic; put only one argument, description or explanation in each paragraph; and sum up why you feel the way you do, because of or despite the examples or proof in all the paragraphs between introduction and conclusion. I like the way she says to keep punctuation to a minimum with short sentences; tackle complex subjects with attention to flow, logic, organization while explaining one aspect at a time with simple words, examples and sentences; use one-sentence breathers for emphasis or transition; and to write about what gives you more useful knowledge, interests you, and pulls in what you are learning in the course. The author covers argumentative, descriptive and expository themes, so her book shows how to develop Rebecca Elliott's PAINLESS RESEARCH PROJECTS, Kathryn Lamm's 10,000 IDEAS FOR TERM PAPERS, PROJECTS, REPORTS, AND SPEECHES, and Laurie Rozakis's SCHAUM'S QUICK GUIDE TO WRITING GREAT RESEARCH PAPERS.

As someone who works privately with students, helping them with term papers, I highly recommend this book. When students call me in regard to assistance with a term paper, I recommend that they buy this book to use as a guide and a reference book. As the title states, this is a "how to" book, and it addresses the concerns that students have about term papers. It is a practical and easy to use guide.

This was a book about the mysteries of science. There are about ten different mysteries that Einstein Anderson has to solve. In one mystery Einstein had to find out how a dog howled. If he solved the mystery, he would get to punch the bully five times! I liked this book because it made learning science fun.
