This text is essential for any student trying to grasp the debate surrounding the Constitution. Though trudging through the original documents is advisable, the side-by-side modern version makes comprehending the often difficult language used headache-free and therefore the concepts clear and easy to grasp. For those of you familiar with Shakespeare texts featuring side-by-side modern translations, the format is very much similar, although in my experience the translations here are far more accurate. The guide questions at the end of each chapter are well-thought out and highlight the important issues of each essay. It's interesting to see that the same debate regarding federalism is alive and well today.

If you're a college student majoring in political-science, a high school student in a government class, a teacher or professor, or just somebody trying to gain new insight into the formation of our government, you cannot go wrong with this text. I applaud Genevieve Gilbert-Rolfe for undertaking the daunting task of translating, and especially for succeeding at it.

This Festschrift for Le Cam was organized by former students and colleagues on the occasion of his 70th birthday in 1994. It did not actually get published until 1997. There are numerous papers written by prominent probabilists and statisticians who worked in the area of asymptotic theory that Le Cam was so well known for. Erich Lehmann provides an essay on Le Cam's years at Berkeley. Diaconis and Freedman talk about the consistency of Bayes estimates in nonparametric regression. Dudley reviews empirical processes. Yang provides an application of Le Cam's work to sodium channel experiments. Stigler provides an historical account of maximum likelihood through the work of Daniel Bernoulli and Leonhard Euler. van der Vaart covers superefficiency. Donoho and Johnstone present some new results on minmax estimation based on wavelets. Many of Le Cam's colleagues at Berkeley contributed interesting articles including Beran, Blackwell, Brillinger and Freedman. There are nearly as many applied papers as theoretical ones in this festschrift. Other well known contributors include Aalen, Millar, de Acosta, Picard, Ferguson, Pollard, van Zwet, Roussas and C. R. Rao.

This book is just great. It was the first book I had read about accounting and it helped me a lot. If anyone wants to learn about accounting, that person should pick this book. It's easy to read and very informative.

Of all the books I have read about adoption or from a birthmother's point of view, this is the most honest. As the mother searches for both her birthmother and her only daughter she gave up for adoption she lets the reader experience what she is going through. Searching for answers she shares her research with the reader. The 50's era are discussed, bonding verses attachment delved into. A grown up Safe Haven baby, she gives a voice to all those now being legally abandoned in hospitals, mostly with no questions asked.

Gordon Clark has done a masterful job of writing a commentary that clearly and concisely explains for any reader (scholar and layman alike) the meaning and implications of these Scriptures. One of the best books written on Paul's letters to the Thessalonians. Highly recommended!

George MacDonald Fraser's Flashman series has delighted fiction readers for a generation. What an anti-hero he has concocted, using the vile Harry Flashman character from Hughes's Tom Brown's School Days as his character. In some ways, Harry is more in tune with the twentieth century temper than were those earnest manly little boys so dear to the Victorian readership.

Harry Flashman is vain, he's cowardly, he's a lecher. He manages to get into a series of military misadventures, and this one recounts one of the biggest of history: the Charge of the Light Brigade. Tennyson notwithstanding, that had been a SNAFU of the first order; it led to most of those brave soldiers being sacrificed while attempting to storm an impossible objective. Our hero literally farts his way through the attack and gets taken prisoner by the Russians!

Sure enough, he escapes; and has additional adventures in remote Turkistan (present-day Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Kirigistan, and Tajikistan), where the British and the Russians played the Great Game.

The background for this book is well-researched, it is compatible with history, is well-paced, and is very interesting. It includes numerous explanatory notes in the end of the book. George MacDonald Fraser usually satisfies with his Flashman stories; and this is one of the best!

These notecards are very pretty. They are extremly handy to have on hand, I've used them as thank you cards, wedding cards, and last minute occasions. they are universal, well worth the money.

This easy reader combines history, laughs and math. Teaching the Cartesian Coordinate System, this book lends itself to great classroom teaching and learning. Try having your kids or students play "Battleship" after reading!!Powerful illustrations too!Bravo!I bought a class set for my classroom!

For anyone trying to learn about their family through church and civil records from Europe, this is an excellent tool. Since most records follow standard formats this book guides one through the "standard" verbiage and allows one to pick out the important details about a death, birth or wedding record. The only thing that would be more helpful would be a better guide to handwriting styles of the period for the various languages
