The essential text for anyone interestedin clinical hypnosis
This text is a must read for any person seriously interested in hypnosis. If you do not already know the story of Milton Erickson, check the Erickson Foundation web site to learn more. He was the person primarily responsible for the research which recognized hypnosis as the effective therepeutic modality it is. The collated works in this volume span many years, much of it predates 1959, the year the American Medical Association accepted hypnosis as a legitimate practice. Many of the papers are the origin of the common tales and metaphors used by hypnotists/NLP trainers. This text is clinical in nature, so one must have some background in in one of the follwing: psychiatry/ medicine/ therapy/hypnosis/NLP. If you want to understand the processes which enable hypnosis to change people......buy this book.

Aesthetic Ideology (Theory and History of Literature (Paper), Vol 65)
Published in Paperback by Univ of Minnesota Pr (Txt) (October, 1996)
Authors: Paul De Man, Andrzej Warminski, and Paul De Man
Amazon base price: $18.51
Paul De Man's reputation was irreparably damaged by the revelation after his death of his wartime anti-Semitism, obscuring some valid intellectual contributions to the field of aesthetics. This collection of philosophical essays, compiled by Andrzej Warminski of the University of California, argues for the close connections between art and politics and art and science. He discusses Kant and Hegel, whose major contributions to aesthetics are less known than their work on rationality and morality. And in an essay on Schiller he deplores, rather naively, the poet/playwright's lack of philosophical concern for the basis of his art.
Average review score:

Difficult, necessary reading.
I just want to suggest that the person who previously reviewed this book makes a confusion between De Man's life and the content of this book. To say that this book is trite is mindless.

beautiful and versatile
This is the second time I've bought these giftwraps because I can use them for just about any occasion (well, maybe not baby showers). They're good for Christmas and birthdays, anyway--the main times I have to wrap gifts. I really like almost all of the gift wrapping papers that Dover publishes.

Fun!
Aiko is very fun for the price! Especially if you are interested in Japanese culture. This is a great way to have fun and learn more about Japanese clothing and what a little Japanese girl would typically wear to various events and seasons. Also suggested: Chinese Mei-Mei sticker doll.

Great Paper Doll Book
I have been collecting paper dolls since I was in college. This is one of the funnest ones that I have found. It was fun to put everything together, and the costumes are fabulous! My two daughters were always asking to see her in her different outfits. It would probably be best for an older audience to put together as it takes a lot of fine motor skills and direction reading skills, but children love to look at her and play with her after she is put together. I would love to have more of this type of doll.

Aliens for Dinner
This was a really neat book. Aric (the alien) was really funny in this book. The main character Richard worked really hard to get rid of the aliens that were taking over his planet. The aliens were Dwilibs. They were stinky. They smelled like rotten fish. We liked the 10th anniversary covers of this book. It was just as good as Aliens for Lunch and Aliens for Breakfast.

The characters were interesting because each of them are so different than the other. Meg Calvin, and Charles Wallace go on a journey through space to the planet Camotz were Meg's father is trapped. I would recommend this book for 3rd grade and up.
