Inspirational. Covers a wide range of subjects in detail not found easily else where. For example, as well as discussing techniques, tools and materials used in each area, details are also given for suppliers of many of the materials mentioned. Most chapters have colour photo step-by-step demonstations of the basic techniques under discussion and each chapter is also accompanied by fabulous photos of various illustrators work in the subject area. There is also an extremely helpful chapter on photographing your "illustration/artwork".

I particularly enjoyed the chapters on paper and fabric, and in regard to the fabric info, would recommend this book to cloth doll makers. There are many useful hints, wonderful photos AND a demo of Lisa Lichtenfels "creation" process of her Bette Midler piece. Ellen Rixford also discusses and demo's her techniques, which are equally exciting.

Although my interests lie with fabrics, I thoroughly enjoyed this book as a whole, and would now have a go at a number of the other techniques detailed. With the fantastic colour photos through out the book, I still re-read this book regularly, if not for inspiration, just for pure enjoyment!!

A great buy! One of those book you will always keep!

Some of these design can and will do that for you. With a little tweek type adjustment your next flight will be even more wild.

The pages in this book are the most Xeroxed pages of all my books combined. Making the puzzles and (mistakenly?) let someone see it. The puzzle seems to disappear or is given away before it is 2 weeks old. I have several copies of each puzzle ready for construction just in case.

I like this book. It lets you assemble your own vechicles. I haven't got around to assemble them though. there are 18 diffrent minivans and suvs and other 4wd vechicles. so it was a good book.

Tom Tierny is no. 1 for historically accurate clothing, and his paper dolls are terrific!! I have several of his paperdoll collections..Definate buy for both children and adults interested in clothing!!

In 1940's New York, a handful of artists from varied backgrounds began producing work equal to the finest of the European avant garde. Although these artists worked in a wide variety of individual styles, all of them were connected by a similar belief in the ability of art to communicate fundamental truths about human psychology and experience. Drawing on mythological and psychological sources, and inspired by the presence of many members of the exiled European avant garde in New York, this small group of men and women created the first wholly American modernist style, Abstract Expressionism. From the mid-1940's until the ascendancy of Pop Art in the early 1960's, Abstract Expressionism was the most important movement in the Western art world, and one which remains influential even today. While the paintings of the Abstract Expressionists are the movement's best-known works, drawing was a fundamental means of communication for these artists. My professor assigns homework from the Accounting Principles textbook. These working papers made doing my homework incredibly easier by saving me the time of having to draw out the lines needed for journal entries and such. I definely recommend this for anyone tempted to drop out of their accounting class because the homework takes so dang long.

I took an accounting course not knowing about the working papers, just fending for my self as best as I could under the circumstances. The working papers put my understanding of the material in to "turbo" mode, it makes accounting practices a snap!
