Anyone interested in vacuum technology and vacuum pumps would be well advised to read this book -- cover to cover. Topics covered include very basic explainations of the ideal gas laws and their application to vacuum all the way up to complex, but still practial, analysis of the different types of vacuum pumps available and their strengths and weaknesses. While not for the lay person, the book is eminately readable for engineers who have an interest in the subject. The examples are clear and real world, reflecting the authors vast experience in application of vacuum pumps to various chemical processes in industry. A must have for people selling and buying vacuum pumps in any market today.

This book also is recommended by the American Concrete Institure (ACI)which is the standards for all concrete practices. At this time two colleges are using this book for engineering on concrete placement.

This excellent book provides very practical guideline to insulin pumping and covers all the aspects of pumping: from the best pump wearing to the complex tinny tuning of insulin regime. Usually such kind of books contains two main parts: the first one explains whom and why need the pump, while the second part retell user guide for a pump. The reviewing book is favorably different by substance. It bases on the modern scientific research published. I am longstanding diabetic and diabetic reader, but I discovered some new facts about the diabetes, its complications, and insulin therapy. My recommendation is: don't delay, - buy and study this book!

I have just recently got into vintage gas pumps and have found this book to be the greatest asset in identifying gas pumps and would recomend that anyone involved in this hobby get this book asap. Super job by Jack in putting all of this info in one book.

This is a very small book about a very big topic - ladies shoes which have a long tradition of making women look and feel better. The author Linda O'Keeffe starts with the history of shoes and covers different areas such as sandals, heels, slippers, black dress shoes, boots, platform shoes, fetish shoes and art shoes. She also has little features on famous shoe designers such as Andre Perugia, Roger Vivier, Manolo Blahnik, David Evins, Patrick Cox, Dave Little, Salvatore Ferragamo, Vivienne Westwood and Beth Levine. What makes this book so attractive are the many excellent pictures of different shoe designs.

A great coffee table book for shoes! Color photos with history on every page. Lots of trivia like showing Elizabeth Taylor's beautiful high heel shoes worn during Cleopatra, famous shoe designers favorite high heels like Ferragamo's fantasy shoes, Manolo Blahnik's amazing shoes for different eras, David Evins rhinestone "stop and go" mules for Ava Gardner in 1955 & a twisted pearl sandal for Grace Kelly in 1959. Lots of interesting tidbits throughout and well worth the money to buy this book. If you enjoy shoes you'll love this book! :)

We follow the events and gossip of the town, and the author guides us through the citizens' hopes and dreams, joys and miseries. Hamsun moves elegantly between the differences and similarities of the peasant and the academic, man and woman, the spinster, the cripple, children and youths. With his finger on the pulse of the time, ironically and tongue-in-cheek, he gives a full picture of the people and their day.

In this brilliant novel from Norway's Knut Hamsun, the readerfollows the activities of Oliver Anderson, a cripple who was maimedwhen a barrel of whale oil crashed down on him, & the gossip about him. Many questions regarding Oliver's home life & family preoccupy the minds of the women at the pump. Many things just don't add up or seem right. Hamsun uses brilliant subtlety and ambiguity to keep the reader wondering what these burried secrets really are. The novel also brilliantly juxtaposes the concepts of the primary concern for the individual & the importance of a village (society) in regards to the consequences of their actions as a whole. Don't let this one pass you by!

This book is a glossy generalists dream. If you don't know what a well is, buy this book. If you don't know what a septic tank is, buy this book. If you can't tell the difference between a submrsible pump or a jet pump, buy this book.

If you want to design or install your own hideaway water system, forget it. The author makes to frequent use of "consult your owners manual", "local authorities" or "hire someone" to have any real value.

This book would benefit the rural homeowner who has never owned a well, septic, etc. and needs to talk with a repair service. It would be unadvisable to attempt installation or repair of any system with knowledge gained from just this book.

If you are going to buy one, and only one book about maintaining a cottage water and sewer system, this is it. The definitive bible on how to keep everything working. Supplemented with excellent illustrations and drawings, Cottage Water Systems is indispensable. About the only criticism we have is that there could be a few more options for pump hook-ups and that some of the addresses are out of date. But all-in-all, this is a truly outstanding book worth the money.

This book should be a MUST addition to anyone's library who deals with a well and septic system. The reference material is well documented and the color diagrams make the book easy to understand. Although written for a Canadian cottage, the principles are the same for cabins/cottages anywhere...

I didn't really find anything new or different in this book. I ordered it because the other two reviews on Amazon.com gave it such high recommendations, but I wasn't especially impressed with it. A lot of the book was taken up with stories/examples of people's successes which didn't read that differently than the free ones you can read about on numerous on-line sites. I would have appreciated more specifics and less repetition. I didn't find this book especially inspiring.

Victoria provides motivation, help, tracking and easy to follow diet. She teaches you how to feel about yourself in order to get you on the right track. You have to be ready for true weight loss before you start reading this book. If you are not ready and motivated, than no, its not for you. I have all of her workout videos also, and they really do help. You need to get with the program and change your additude in order to be successful. Victoria really cares because she too has been there.

This is the only program that has helped me lose weight! I have searched and searched but Victoria knows what it's like to be overweight and what it takes to change that destructive path and get you heading in the right direction.

Wow! I purchased it on Feb 8th and didn't start using it right off. I was a bit apprehensive about using it, so I thought I'd wait a bit until I had more time to devote. What a mistake, I should have started using it the second I got it. I've have had AMAZING size gains, and I've been able to last AS LONG AS I WISH during sex with my girlfriend, something I could never do before. This program was worth the money just for the PC exercises section alone! I'm like an iron man in bed, my girlfriend LOVES it, she cant get enough of me! This book is very, very, very effective--but let me give everyone a cautionary tale. Some background: I was once a tiny man. I say this without shame, for it took me a long time to come to terms with my tininess, and for many years, I tried to hide the problem. After trying the methods described in this book, I was astounded by the results, and actually became quite proud of myself....But, all that aside, the book is a necessary edition to the library of any man preoccupied, as I was, with his penis.

I thought it was some kind of joke when I openeed the package. It was supposed to be a book. Just know before you get this that it's a pamphlet and not a book. Highly overpriced if you ask me.

How many times have I heard people say "my Grand Dad had a Ram Pump on his farm". Yet the ram pump today has been almost totally lost in the modern fast paced world we live in. Which makes this book so important to have the ability to pump water uphill with no electricity required. Not only an informative booklet on the topic of hydraulic ram water pumping, but filled with clear diagrams, part lists and sources, and thorough set-up and troubleshooting sections. Even with a minimal water flow, this pump performs! Although the price to build it in todays dollars is more than indicated, you can't go wrong with the sturdy, dependable design. I've been moving water over 1200 feet at a 100 foot rise for over 3 months, averaging 600 gallons in a 24 hour period. Highly recommended for entry into this fascinating method of pumping.
