This book has some of the most beautiful designs and projects I've seen. Preparation of surfaces of different types are shown and basic brush strokes are clear and simple.

The authors, Shannon & Torlen, continue to produce excellent instruction in Stained Glass, this their 3rd book. The photographs of their copper foil and leaded panels and sandblasted projects are of the highest quality. Choice of glass colour and texture in their designs make the projects quite remarkable, I refer in particular to the standing room divider. I recommend this book to all stained glass hobbyists and artists as I do to my students. I look forward to the release of their next book.

It's not got a lot of pages, but there's a lot of good ideas crammed into this book! The photos are excellent, too! It'll get the wheels turning, that's for sure... :o) I've spent a lot of time at Home Depot and other stores looking through painting books looking for ideas, but I borrowed this book from a friend of mine, and now I've finally tracked it down for myself here on the Web. Can't wait to get my own copy and do the faux mosaic in the kitchen, some combing in a kid's room, and some plastic wrap in a bath room. Also some striping in my family room -- tone on tone though, using satin and flat with the same color (six inch stripes). Can't wait!

Great resource for all types of surface decorating! Provides very clear, easy-to-follow instructions, and pictures. Wonderful results with easy-to-find materials. It was so much fun - I wanted to refinish everything in my house!

Most inspirational! This book provides excellent designs, colour and concepts to enable the novice to the professional on exciting paint ideas for all furniture. If you're wanting to create an awesome finish on any piece and need inspiration, this is the book to buy. It's easy to follow and opens your mind and creativity, you'll be amazed at the selections, you'll create the most impressive pieces which I am sure your friends will notice. You will never find painted furniture boring after seeing Cressida Bells talent!

Decorative Painting is the rave in my area, I am looking for every bit of info I can find. I have spent several thousand dollars studing with faux finishers/faux schools. This book is very informative using latex and oil finishes. A must have for the serious decorative painter.

This book is like a Bible to me and my girl friend. We use it about every day and selling it to some of our customers. This book has so many colors in it and they are true colors to match up with. I think it helps to see the colors that you are looking for not to just read about the color and match it up that way, it is just so handy to look at the colors.

This book is good resource guide for faux painting with water base paints and products. Each process is well instructed though pictures of the finished technique, related color samples, tools needed and product recipes. Faux techniques covered are from your basic sponging to granite to marble to wood effects. A great book for beginner faux painters, but also terrific resource for decorative ideas. If anyone is looking for a comprehensive guide to faux painting, you not go wrong with this book.

As the author, I send a message to all decorative painters.... buy this book!... it is packed with easy, inspirational ideas for your home. I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it.

Being an extreme beginner, I was looking for a complete manual to help me start on my new painting "career". After reading and using the material in this book, I consider myself capable of not only producing quality pieces of artwork, but being able to both sell them and be proud to give them as gifts.

I would highly recommend this book to anyone who, wants to learn how to paint; needs to find hard to find supplies; needs a color conversion chart or wants a brush-up course on strokework.
