I purchased this book, and after using it,I borrowed several books from a friend that had taken the PN exam and passed. I was amazed at how I was able to answer the questions correctly from the books I borrowed from her. If you are looking for a good review book, I suggest this book "Lippincott's Review for nclex-PN. The section "Frequently Asked Question(FAQ)" will help a great deal with the style of questions asked on the exam, and other questions you may have. Of course, no one has any idea what questions will be on the test, but I am confident that this review book will help a great deal. I am passing my review book down to a nursing student, and I know it will benefit her. The main key is to review and of course remain confident. Nursing school was not a piece of cake, but this book will help. "You Can Do It".....

This book focuses on many areas of nursing including med-surg, pediatrics,the Endocrine system, and lab values which are all areas covered in length on the Nclex-PN CAT. I would highly recommend this study guide to any nursing student studying for the board. Included is a disk with multiple questions and rationales. I purchased many types of resources in preparation for the Nclex and I feel this book prepared me more than any of the others. Good luck future nurse!

Not only does this book help you with the review for the n-clex, it is invaluable to you while you are still in the nursing program. Many times the questions in the book were very similar to test questions in my classes. This book gets you in the critical thinking mode. Also it explains the answers as well as why the other choices are incorrect.My study group swears by this book.

I studied with this book for the NCLEX and found it very helpful. The questions are separate from the answer key which prevented me from sneaking a peek when I was clueless. I would recommend this book for an overall review. If you want specific subject areas, the questions for OB, Peds, etc are spread out all over, and not concentrated in one area. GOOD LUCK FUTURE NURSES!!!!

This was the best NCLEX Question & Answer book I used to prepare. It was excellent because it has 10 NCLEX style exams that really helped me understand NCLEX type questions. It was so helpful because it gives you the exam and then immediatley following in the next chapter it gives you the same exam with rationales for right and wrong answers. The questions were really good, and I learned so much from the excellent rationales. Thanks so much, I know this book helped me to PASS THE NCLEX!

The text has a very good diagnostic test (250 questions given in 2 parts)and a 250 question 'Mastery' test (same format), but the CD-ROM doesn't quite work right (the answer choices don't show until you pick one of the 'blank' spots or request the solution). I've emailed Barron's but haven't gotten it fixed yet. It is relatively inexpensive and I'm sure it will help on my boards.

nclex-pn review saunders 5th edition is an excellent book.do the practice test threw out the whole book you be sucessful.

I thought this book was a great review for my test. It gave me a lot of pointers and helped me know what to go back over. I got a B - 92! (highest grade in my class)

This book contains errors. The book attempts to simplify the physics of PN junction diodes, especially by using suggestive sketches in place of mathematical reasoning. As a result it sometimes attracts readers who are learning this material for the first time. Unfortunately the book contains errors which makes its use in this fashion unacceptable. It teaches students untruths which if repeated in an exam would be marked incorrect.

For example in the derivation of the ideal diode equation, the author claims that both drift and diffusion currents flow from one side of the junction to the other, which when no bias is applied balance for both electrons and holes. In fact no drift currents flow across an ideal PN junction, since no carriers exist where there is an electric field. It is true that within the depletion layer, large diffusion and drift currents flow, which balance in thermal equilibrium so that the Fermi level is flat through the junction. However under bias, quite separate currents flow from one side of the junction to the other, which have nothing to do with drift. For a full explanation refer to the book by Muller & Kamins, "Device Electronics for Integrated Circuits" (2nd ed.), Wiley, 1986, ISBN 0471887587.

Such fundamental errors are inexcusable in a book purporting to teach fundamentals.

The book is a decent read for getting a better understanding on the basics in this subject. The best thing about the book is the qualitative and quanitative arangement and explanation of the material. However, the book may be somewhat confusing if this is your first time dealing with the subject. You should at least have some experience using the diode current equation and some familiarity with how this device works in an actual circuit. I also recommend that become comfortable with using Poisson's equation. Chapter 2 is based entirely on it's use.

The book is ideal for someone wanting to review pn junction physics but not wanting the drawn out detail that you would find in Shur. If you decide to buy this book, buy Volume I, "Semiconductors Fundementals." The authors will make reference to equations in Volume I that won't be found in this one. Yes, they want mo' money!!!

This book offers the clearest explanation of the physics of a diode that I've seen, i.e., what exactly those holes and electrons are doing! It isn't simple; that's the nature of the physics, but it is clearly explained and in the text and the drawings.

The overall idea of the book is great for the beginner craft enthusiast. It offers many projects and the procedures to accomplish them. The manual also provides lists of materials and tools needed to accomplish the craft. The wood working section describes the tools of the trade in great detail and how to opperate the power equipment used in wood working projects. There are numerous typographical errors throughout the book and at times it is difficult to understand the procedural steps given.

The book is a good basic guideline for many projects and covers a wide selection of craft projects. It is a good beginners book of crafts.

The book does not come with a CD ROM but rather a lacking a faulty floppy disk. Mosby's customer support 1-800-426-4545 is very non supportive and refuses to adjust this.

The CD-ROM is not designed to fill your whole monitor screen which is kind of upsetting,and there are videos that you cant hear at all.Other than that it'll serve its purpose.Buy it,and you will see what im talking about.!Goodluck!

This is a very detailed book with a lot of information! It gives rationales for every answer. The CD is also pretty good. It takes a second to go to the next page, but it also has rationales for every answer. The book also has charts and photos with details marked. I am now an LPN, and I practiced using this book and CD.
