Another Great Book for Lovers of Southern Fiction!
Laurie Taylor--writing geniusI read this book in one weekend. I could not put it down for a second. I found myself reading in the middle of the night. Laurie captures the heart of the South into this wonderful novel about a young woman and her life. After I read this novel, as a friend of Laurie's, I felt closer to her. She makes you laugh, cry, and just thank God for what you have. :O)
Great book to read!!In the Lillie Pad, Laurie Pfister Taylor captures many different aspects of South Carolina! I found it difficult to put this book down - too eager to learn what would happen next in the lives of all of the characters! This book has moved to the top of my list of favorites! Can't wait for her next publication to be released!

Hilarious Take on a Double MurdererOK, if the humor of the title of this review evades you, this is not the "book" for you. If you think the whole situation is funny, then get this book.
Page after page of doodles and notes that blow political correctness out of the water, and made me laugh out loud. This product is fall down funny.
Again, a classic that is out of print. Shame, shame, shame.
Out of Print?!? Say it isn't so!Here it is, four years after I first spent a summer reading and re-reading it with my friends (one of whom must still have it!). I've got to read it again. Maybe e-bay?
a must read!without a doubt, the funniest collection of drawings and text on the o.j. situation. a comical view into the demented mind of a lunatic!

Great Tasty Recipes, Interesting ContentThis book is wonderful! The recipes are tasty and are not difficult to follow. We used several for our Thanksgiving feast this year. The pumpkin pie and berry crisp are delicious! I also have enjoyed some of the less traditional treats, however, and I look forward to trying food from the Portuguese chapter.
From Apple Pie to Pad Thai is also interesting to read. As someone who grew up on Boston's North Shore, I really enjoyed reading about familiar places and events. The chef profiles help bring the book to life. And I loved the tips in each chapter on local ethnic markets and restaurants.

Excellent cookbookThis is my favorite kind of cookbook- not only are the recipes good, the sidebars and background information are fascinating. I particularly enjoyed the biographies of various Boston North Shore cooks, and I think this project really captures the essence of American cuisine and its continual evolution. This is a great book if you enjoy cooking, history, or just a good read.
This is a Great BookThe best thing about this book is the recipes really work! I haven't been dissapointed yet! The word of mouth is getting out about this wonderful cookbook. My favorite recipe is the fried chicken (crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside). I also recommend the Peanut Soup. The history and biographies of the cooks capture the true history of the North Shore of Boston. I highly recommend this cookbook to anyone who enjoy food or enjoy a good read. Its also a good tourguide for foodies because it tells all about the ethnic fairs. Hope you enjoy!

Kana-A-Day Practice PadI bought Mr Keirstead's practice pad when I first arrived in Tokyo. Having no prior knowledge of Japanese, it took me about 3 weeks to master all of the Kana. After that, I quickly discovered that I could walk into any Western style restaurant in Tokyo, and understand 80 to 95% of the menu. His practice pad gave me the confidence I needed to get around in Japan. I am now studying his Kanji-A-Day practice pad. Thank you Mr Keirstead for your excellent idea.
An excellent self-study tool!My school doesn't offer any Japanese classes, so I have been trying to find the best resources for self-education to prepare myself for when I have the opportunity to be in a classroom. This pad shows stroke order and has plenty of space for practicing both the Hiragana and Katakana symbols. By keeping the used pages on my cork board and drawing the symbols, I have retained memory of each of the symbols I have learned so far! This pad was a really great idea!

The recipes I've tried have been GREAT!I was a bit intimidated to try to cook Thai food. It just seemed like it would be so difficult! The other Thai cookbooks I've looked at seemed a little too scary- how am I supposed to shop for the ingredients if I don't know what they are? This cookbook did a GREAT job of explaining things to me- from the ingredients to the cooking methods involved. Even better, the food is AWESOME! The meals are similar to what I get at my favorite sit-down Thai restaurant. This book is well worth the money for anyone who enjoys Thai food.

Don't leave home without it!I can't speak highly enough of this book. We got one for each of our daughters for a 15-hour car trip and they were completely entertained. There was something for everyone in this book, and we were surprised to see license plates for almost all 50 states (and some for Canada) on our journey from PA to FL. The variety of activities kept our 9-year-old and 11-year-old busy (and quiet) with plenty of activities left for future trips. Worth every cent!
Interesting and FunI bought this for my 10 and 13 year old daughters. It kept their interest by providing lots of fun activities - even at their age!
21 and I still use itI got this many years ago, and used it a lot. Somewhere in between now and then I lost it. I was going a trip that would require me sitting on an airplane and in the airport for a grand total of 11 hours. I bought this book. It not only kept me, but the 11 other college agepeople I was with entertained. We read each others palms and I was busy on the red-eye and not bothering people, quit the big feat for me. In addition a friend and I went on a week long car trip. We palyed many of the car games, found 42 state liscense plates (and 3 provinces), it kept us from attacking each other after four days in a car. I totally recomend this for anyone going on a trip of any length, regardless of the age.
