This book has helped myself, an interior designer with an interest in fiber arts, learn the fine art of the Japanese Textile. For the price you cannot find a better, crisper book in print!

This book had me glued. I own a foundation bred stallion and did not know his dam's bloodlines. With each Legends book I read, I learn more of why my stud is the way he is! I have also learned how important research is in breeding quality animals and how they did it then and how it has effected now! An excellent series of books for anyone interested in their horses ancestry.

This entire series of books are the best. As an owner of a quarter horse, and a relative of breeders and trainers of these magnificant animals, I found these books to be incredible. Every detail accentuates on the foundation of the breed, the animals history. This book, this series contains anything you need to know as a breeder or trainer predigree wise. Easily the best Quarter horse books on the market.

I refer to my copy all of the time and have given away several copies to contact center managers. You MUST have a copy of this book in your business library!

This is a superb expose of Anglo-Dutch relations in the years 1721-1740. It is passionately written with unparalleled lucidity. I highly recommend it for both casual and academic readers.

MacSwan's work is often technical, but ground-breaking. Not only does he advance discussions of the phenomenon known as "code-switching," but he ties it into educational theory in ways that illustrate the non-trivial nature of technical discussions. In fact, educational practices that affect the lives of students, are not independent of the theoretical assumptions made by educators. MacSwan, who is now a leading figure in both theoretical linguistics and bi-lingual education, makes this clear. I recommend it to all who are interested in bilingual education and the politics of education. Some background in formal linguistics will hep the reader through the more technical portions of the volume.

This book describes 56 different geological sites, scattered all over Minnesota, where you can scramble around, looking at geological features. It uses USGS maps and black and white photos to show you exactly where to go. Plus, there are line drawings, tables and interesting, accurate verbal infomation about the geology of each of these sites.

If you plan to visit Minnesota or live there, and you like the outdoors, it's well worth owning this book, as well as Guide to the Superior Trail, Hiking Minnesota, and Isle Royale National Park: Foot Trails and Water Routes.

I own many garden books, general and specialized, but this one is my hands-down favorite. The information is reliable, beautifully organized and starts from the premise that you know how to garden and that you know what effect you are looking for. The book is designed to help you select the best plant for the site and use you have in mind. If you want a list of the most desirable small garden trees with excellent crimson color in the fall that will be happy growing in the northeast in a sunny corner, this book will tell you your choices. The plants included run the gamut - from flowers and bulbs to vines to ground covers to shrubs and trees, and more. I think it is a shame a new edition has not been published.

This book did exactly what Cardinal Dulles said it would, give a concise overview of Newman's theology as well as give adequate background on Newman's life and what significance his writings have for contemporary theology. I found this book to be a fine introduction to Newman's thought; readable for a beginner and yet thorough enough to be kept as an on-hand reference.

I came across this book by accident. (Looking for something else) I perused the book briefly and became immediately engaged. I could not put it down. I bought a copy and began reading. The sermons selected were tremendous. They are life changing and uplifting to say the least. The book reveals hope, joy, restoration and peace through the sermons it houses. It is the epitome of classic, historical and jubilant black preaching and a must for the clergy of this era and Christians everywhere.
