This book is an excellent educational tool. I am a public health dental hygienist and I use this book in grades K-2. The bright pictures and clever rhymes make it very entertaining for children. It is a great way to teach kids about their mouths and oral health!

When my 5 year old lost his first tooth, he was asking all sorts of questions: WHY did I lose a tooth, WHEN will I lose more....

Thi sbook answers those questions. It has a chart which looks inside the gums to show a new tooth pushing out the old. The book alternates between a story line and a poem. At the end it gets funny with a boy not being able to sing the rhyme like the others because he lost 2 teeth and he "thounds funny".

These authors have the ability to change people's consciousness and make a difference in each of our lives. Their examples and stories make this an easy and motivational read. This book is entertaining, fun and instructional!

Phillips and Aslett share five simple concepts to be successful, and they enhance their well written advice with humor and entertaining anecdotes. I loved the uplifting tone of the book -- and after reading it, I was motivated to re-evaluate what "successful" means to me! They encouraged me overcome my "success inferiority complex" and to eliminate the need to constantly compare myself to others! This is a warm, inspiring book that is sure to delight readers from all walks of life.

It's almost a dirty rotten shame that this treasure of a book did not get any publicity. Forget Mars and Venus. For practical information, and INTERESTING information, this book is it. I love the clever way they made it two books in one.

I'll be brief, this book is required reading for both men and women on the dating scene! Half of the book is about men - both good and bad and covers a few of my ex-boyfriends - flip the book over and it talks about women - again both the good and the bad. It is written with a maturity of someone who has been exposed to a wide variety of single people. Guess what? - the Prince is not hanging out at the local pub - you are more likely to encounter Frogs!

I have obtained and read a copy of your book. You have saved my sanity. In 1977 I read "The New Immortality and Nothing Dies" by John W. Dunn. He calls God the Universal mind. Your Christian perspective has saved my idea of God. Thank you for putting the last piece of the puzzle of my life in place.

Can our reality be sustained after mortal life has been lifted from our biological body? Interesting concept! "How To Get Out Of This World Alive", written by J. Hodgkiss Struthers, takes us on a bewildering, but educational train ride as he presents his research on the past, present, and future of human existence. I am in the medical profession, therefore, I have a strong background in Natural Sciences. The author successfully gives the reader a broad perspective of not only scientific facts, but he also demonstrates a strong connection between religious history and human existence as we see it today. In addition, Struthers presents personal experiences which enables the audience to grasp ideas and form constructs. The author has cleverly provided a section called the Caboose, located at the end of the book, which provides the reader additional information on subject matter presented in the main body of the book.

I was referred to this book while discussing "Castle Doctrine" - quite simply, the ability to defend one's home without having to retreat first. Califoria's gun laws are spelled out in a very easy to read manner, examples are given, and statute data is provided. You are warned that this is not a "final legal answer" book, but it describes many situations and "what if" scenarios. I highly recommend this book to anyone who has a CCW, is trying to get one, or anyone who keeps a firearm for self defense in their home or place of business.

I bought this book on the recommendation of instructor who was teaching a Basic Pistol Class at my local gun shop. This book gives you information on how to maintain your gun rights in California in a plain and effective manner.

As the author, I wrote this book for people who have tried everything to get their persistent pain to leave. I have compiled many techniques for helping people in pain regain control over their pain and diminish the suffering element.

Self hypnosis is the best non-drug remedy for relieving pain that won't go away. I use it myself because I have chronic pain (fibromylagia, chronic fatigue, spinal disease and arthritis).

The book clearly explains what HYPNOSIS is and what it is NOT. Readers are guided to choose the right self hypnosis method for them. Self-hypnotic pain coping methods covered (the "6 D's") include: Deep relaxation, De-catastrophizing, Direct behavior modification, Distraction, Distortion of pain sensations, and Dissociation from pain.

To my knowledge, this is the first self-help book devoted solely to self hypnosis for pain management. The goal is
NO MORE PAIN. The method is self-hypnosis. The result is less pain and less suffering. The bottom line is that if you have a chronic disease, "pain may be mandatory, but suffering is optional".

This book can be used with or without the help of a therapist.

This book is a powerful tool to help people in pain gain some measure of control over that pain, and minimize the impact of pain on their function and quality of life. The writing is understandable and enjoyable. There are many options and styles of self-hypnosis offered. I recommend this book highly, and use it myself.

The more I read C C Teague's "In And Out Of Love", the more depth and universal insight I see. If you are alive and breathing this is a MUST READ BOOK. I can hardly wait to read Teague's next book "Relations". I understand that there is a poem about Oprah Winfrey in RELATIONS. While waiting for RELATIONS-- you've got to read IN AND OUT OF LOVE.

CC TEAGUE, WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN? A beautiful, well written journey along the "Trail of Life", full of love, sadness, angst,and fulfillment. Lovers and ex-lovers will find true meaning in these all too few pages. Please, give us MORE!

As one of the few Pro Rally fanatics in the U.S., I have followed John Buffum's rallying exploits since the early 1970s. This book provides excellent coverage of JB's activity, event by event, as well as providing history on the sport in general.

Tom Grimshaw can tell a story with the best of them, and much of this story comes from his memories of those rallies as he was there, co-driving for John and for other top drivers of the 1970s and 1980s. This is a must read for anyone who wants to know about the history of the SCCA Pro Rally series and competing series in the U.S., and the man who is undoubtedly the finest rally driver ever produced in America.

I really enjoyed this book. Being new to SCCA PRO Rally, I found the history of PRO Rally to be very interesting. Of course, who can get enough stories about John Buffum???

I found this book by far the best description of the whole process of constructing a quilt I have ever used. It covers the process from choosing a pattern, batt, material and thread, through the preparation for quilting, to the quality of the stitching and the finishing. If you buy only one book on how to actually make a quilt, buy this one.

If you can find this book, buy it! You'll get helpful information about knots, marking quilt tops,needles, and the correct way to finish a quilt.

Terry Trueman has done it again! Inside Out is an amazingly intense read.

The main character, Zach is perfectly framed in a bad situation, a hold up, but nothing could be as bad as the battle Zach has going on in his mind. Zach suffers from schizophrenia and tries very hard to do what is perceived to be "appropriate" in our society.

Trueman manages to create a character in Zach that is unforgettable. This story MOVES so fast, it is over before you know it. I could not put this book down.

Trueman's ability to draw the reader in and make each character, major or minor, an important one is unparalleled.

This book is a wonderful mix of a fast-paced story with action, tense moments of anticipation, and characters that the reader can identify with immediately.

To top all of that off, Terry Trueman has alerted the public about the horrors of schizophrenia.

According to the National Alliance for Research on Schizophrenia and Depression:

"Schizophrenia is a chronic and severe brain disorder which affects approximately 1 percent of the world population. Approximately 2 million people in the United States suffer from the disease in a given year. Schizophrenia is characterized by positive and negative symptoms. Positive symptoms include delusions, hallucinations, disorganized thinking and markedly disorganized behavior. Negative symptoms include reduced emotional expression, social withdrawal, loss of pleasure, difficulty concentrating and/or thinking, and a lack of energy, spontaneity or initiative. Treatment is aimed at reducing symptoms and preventing psychotic relapses. Schizophrenia is usually treated with antipsychotic medication, and may be used in combination with psychosocial therapies, such as cognitive behavioral therapy. Many scientists believe that schizophrenia results from a chemical imbalance in the brain, and are investigating various neurotransmitters in determining this imbalance."

Sixteen-year-old Zach Wahhsted suffers from adolescent onset schizophrenia. He waits at the coffee shop after school each day; him mom picks him up there up at 3:30 and gives him his medication. It is imperative that he get his twice-daily medication on time so that Rat and Dirtbag--the worst of the voices in his head that have tortured him in the past--don't come back.

Today, Zach will not get his medication on time.

"All I want is a maple bar, but I don't think these kids with the guns care about what I want."

Today, as Zach waits for his mom's arrival, a pair of teenagers, "Frosty" and "Stormy," come in to rob the coffee shop and the situation disintergrates into an armed standoff with hostages.

"I look around at everybody else in this place, and they all look scared, so I'm trying to look scared too. I mean, I guess I'm scared, but this all seems so normal to me. The thing is, I'm used to seeing and hearing really weird stuff, so this doesn't feel that strange to me at all."

As a schizophrenic, Zach tends to react differently--some would say inappropriately.

"One of the kids with a gun, the older-looking one, says, 'Nobody's gonna get hurt if you just do what we tell you!'
"I say, 'Okay.'
"He seems surprised at the sound of my voice and looks at me real fast, then away again.
"He says, 'We don't wanna hurt anybody.'
" 'Good,' I say.
"He looks at me again, 'You gotta problem?' he asks. I think he sounds mad.
" 'Yes,' I say.
"This surprises him too. 'Oh, yeah?' he asks, then he points his gun right at me. 'What's your problem?'
"I'm sort of surprised that he wants to know.
"His gun is big and black, with a wide hole in the end of the barrel. It's like a tunnel.
"I answer him as truthfully as I can. 'I'm sick, that's my problem; I take medicine two times every day, thanks for asking.' "

INSIDE OUT is a tense and often comic tale that plays out inside the back room of the coffee shop and inside Zach Wahhsted's head as 3:30 comes and goes...

"I wonder if Frosty and Stormy are going to shoot me. Like in that movie Pulp Fiction. The bad guys shoot lots of people in that movie. I'm definitely NOT going to ask them about Pulp Fiction or about shooting us. I don't want to give them any bad ideas.
"I don't even want to think about getting shot, and so I try to be real quiet...
"After whispering to Stormy, Frosty says, 'Okay, everybody, we've got an announcement.'
"All of us look at Frosty, but before he can say anything else, I hear words flying out of my mouth...
" 'Frosty,' I ask, 'did you ever see that movie Pulp Fiction?' "

This story of how the kid with all the voices in his head turns out to be the voice of reason in a tense life-and-death situation is a spectacular read. And while there is great levity in the unique rapport that develops between Zach and the armed teens, beneath the hostage situation is the realization that no matter how the standoff ends, Zach will forever be hostage to those voices in his head.
