Rethinking Death
This easy to read, easy to understand, quick read on death and dying shows the dying process in an entirely different light than what I had previously envisioned in the physical aspect. As I read the book, I found that I reached a more comfortable feeling about death, both from the perspective of being the one dying and the potential caregiver. I feel so strongly about this book that I am going to buy copies for each of my family members and use it as as tool for friends who are facing decisions about dying either for themselves or loved ones.

Sensitive take on spiritual side of decisions at life's end
Meyer's book is the best I've read that gives a down-to-earth, lay-language explanation of the implications of end-of-life care decisions--like do-not resuscitate orders, tube feedings, etc.--from a religious and spiritual perspective. The author, an experienced hospital chaplain from Austin, Texas, in this brief book provides enormous insight and guidance to families and patients.

An easy and informative read
My wife and I have been reading this attractive book with great interest as we think about our next home. The text reads very smoothly for a volume packed with so many useful ideas.

Preparing for an independent life style in retirement
A very good basic reference resource for people contemplating building or remodeling a house for their retirement. Each section offers a reading list for gaining in-depth information on the topic covered. There is also a planning guide with which to evaluate options relative to personal needs and resources. Highly recommended by this retiree.

The Hormone Decision
This book was recommended to me by my doctor. I had lots of questions and he suggested I pick it up. I actually wrote him a thank you letter for telling me about it. It is easy to read and answered the questions that worried me the most. I have also given it to my sister and a co-worker.

The Hormone Decision
I recommend this book for any woman who is considering Hormone Replacement Therapy. It provided me with easy to understand answers to the questions my doctor never took the time to explain fully.

I especially appreciated the section on how to alleviate menopausal symptoms. I, like many other women my age had been suffering from what I considered to be severe hot flashes. This book let me know that what I was experiencing was common. It also gave me a clear understanding of what causes hot flashes and recommendations on how I can reduce my discomfort, and even how to prevent them altogether.

I highly recommend this book for women entering this phase of their lives and also for the men who love them.

Thank you.

Clear, Focused and Fair Book on a Controversial Topic
There have been a number of slams against stock options by people who think they are at the heart of corporate scandals. This readable and thorough book points out that sharing ownership broadly has been a tremendous benefit to many companies, although a few have abused it. Those of us who have seen companies grow dramatically through the efforts of incentived employees know that options are the best system devised for sharing ownership broadly, and that current attempts to restrict them will do more harm than good for the US economy. This book carefully documents both the benefits and abuses, and should be useful for entrepreneurs who want to build companies, and for regulators who want to really curb abuses while saving the benefits -- and chance for broad based wealth creation -- that employee ownership represents.

Timely examination of employee ownership
This is a very carefully crafted and persuasive book. The authors do a great job of laying out the argument for why sharing ownership broadly with employees is good for companies, shareholders, and employees, while concentrating ownership in just a few executives is a bad idea. The book is especially important now with all the debate going on about stock options, which they point out are just one of the ways companies can share ownership. The book provides the most comprehensive data on this subject to date, so its arguments are not just based on preconceived notions. It deserves a wide audience, especially among corporate decision makers.

A truly wonderful book
I am a relatively new student of stochastic processes. The first 4 chapters which are essentially devoted to explaining the theoretical concepts (Ito inetgration, semi-martingales, etc..) are so lucidly written that it is very easy for someone with a limited idea of stochastic process to comprehend them. After establishing these concepts, the book discusses how the earlier theory is applied to pricing by discussing the options pricing models under different scenarios. I felt that although i understood the earlier discussions regarding arbitrage, the part on how it relates with equivalent martingales was quite difficult to understand. But it is probably because i am new to this subject. In all this is an excellent effort by the authors to make a difficult topic readable and understandable. Finally i feel that people, who are genuinely interested in investing their hard earned money in options, should take the time and effort to learn from this book rather than the typical stereotype "How I Became a Millionaire Overnight Trading Options" books.

Option Theory

The right combination of rigor and practicality
This book is not for everyone. It is not for those who just want a once-over-lightly introduction to options. But it is the perfect book for those who want to combine rigor and practicality. Unlike the many books by mathematicians who claim to be writing for a general audience but in fact are trying to impress their colleagues (mostly by being unintelligible), James writes extraordinarily clearly. But even more important, he has practical experience with all the solution techniques he describes (binomial models, differential equations, Monte Carlo), and expertly describes their uses, their limitations, and the relationships among them. Unlike many authors, he has no apparent bias towards any one of the three solution methods. He also presents numerical examples to illustrate his points. The final section of the book is mathematically more advanced, and allows the reader to ascend to a higher level of sophistication. It's clear that James wants the reader to understand. Bravo!!!

This may be the perfect book to read after mastering a superb introductory text like Robert L. McDonald, Derivatives Markets.

Option Theory Fits the Bill
As an interest rate derivative trader, and MS Computational Finance graduate, I am constantly in search of new texts that combine the right amount of theory and state of the art practice. The new text by Peter James definitely fits the bill for my needs. He provides the reader with clearly written fundamentals that are used to build up to complex topics. But most importantly Mr. James has a unique talent for including great practical examples throughout his text, something lacking in many option theory texts. This text will definitely remain on my desk as a great reference tool.

Options: The Alternative Cancer Therapy Book
Excellent book. Easy to understand. Covers the alternatives thoroughly and objectively. Gives references and contacts. I'm a visiting nurse and I'll be sharing this book with my patients. I wish I could buy fifty of them to give to people.

The best medicine a cancer victim can have!
Got cancer like me? Fight and don't ever give up...no matter what. Read the "conclusion" first of this fine work. Then read the rest. When you do you'll save yourself. One of the best books on fighting cancer I've read and I've read many in my fight. The author did a through and splendid job. Every cancer patient should be given this book by their doctor, but don't count on it...this has everything your doctor doesn't want you to know.
