Mr. Pickarski has once again graced us with a cookbook filled with delicious recipes. But this cookbook is different. The reason I only gave it a 4-star rating is that I was a little disappointed that he included meat in some recipes. His attitude toward whole foods also seems to have mellowed somewhat since his first book, "Friendly Foods", was published. He now uses white flour and granulated sugar. However, most of his recipes live up to the Pickarski name as they are great-tasting and made with healthy ingredients. One thing that impressed me about this book is that the meat recipes always include a vegetarian option, and recipes including dairy always include a vegan option. This would be a good book for someone new to cooking as directions are given in a clear step-by-step manner and are very easy to follow. There is also an extensive section describing different ingredients with which one may not be familiar. Mr. Pickarski's latest cookbook is also a great help for someone that has to cook for meat-eaters (like I do). There's something here for everyone!

This book is an overview of the different kinds of living situations for seniors who need help with daily activities. It describes different types of facilities, such as retirement communities, assisted living, and nursing homes, and includes checklists of questions you may want to ask if you are evaluating a place for yourself or a loved one. It does not contain any information specific to any part of New Jersey. It doesn't have listings of facilities. A better title would be "Senior Living & Eldercare Options in the US".

While developments in this industry move very fast, this book remains one of my favourites for covering the basics of structured derivatives.

On such a topic, it is very easy to get carried away with complex mathematics and jargon, but this author handles the task very well. Topics such as quantifying risk, measuring swap valuations and understanding complex options are explained in a way most of us will understand.

This book is not for the beginner, but is more aimed at those with an average or above average understanding of derivatives.

RAND, as usual, produced a first-rate study here. In this text, they looked into commercial SATCOM for Department of Defense use, what roles it should fill, and cost comparison between DoD-owned satellite versus commercial satellites. Many graphs adorn the text, adding useful information to make conclusions clearer and vivid. Anyone interested in commercial satellites and the role they should play for the DoD should buy this book. No hyperbole or propaganda here, RAND's text is useful text and solid conclusions that layperson and communicator alike can understand.

I would definitely recommend this to anyone interested in energy use in Africa. Good case studies.

Mary Waters provides a provoking analysis and presentation of ethnic identity in American society. How people come to "choose" to identify in terms of ethnicity through influences of surnames, cultural practices and even diet are essential to understanding race/ethnicity. While the focus of the book is on Caucasians, I would consider Ethnic Options as a valid source for those looking to explore issues of ethnic identity.

This book is quite for the advanced finance major, or fund manager. Its ideas are very interesting and details are intricate. But I was facinated by the new equation assumptions concerning foreign exchanges versus domestic, and various other foreign and domestic securities and dirivatives, all incorporated into one equation! Then an applications of these new ideas.

Beatrice Bruteau tells us about a possible new social order based on the change from the current domination paradigm to a future communion paradigm.
In the domination paradigm, individuals are more like objects identified by a number of attributes with which they tend to identify themselves and which make them different from other individuals.
In the communion paradigm, persons are made in the image of the Trinity. They are indescribable subjects, who continuously give and share their life with others and live by the life of the whole.
As far as I am concerned, I think that the most enlightening idea she puts forward in order to help us understand this fundamental change is the shift from the particle metaphor to the field metaphor.
In the domination paradigm, she compares individuals to particles that tend to live an autonomous type of life, where they fight or ignore one another, or sometimes associate, but always remain external to each other.
In the communion paradigm, she compares persons to fields, in the sense of interacting patterns of energy. This image makes it easier to understand the mutual indwelling of persons, which she claims to be the basis of the new communion paradigm.
When you add to this, the fact that she identifies this radiated energy with pure unmotivated creative love, you have a lot to meditate in order to tune your own mind to this radically new way of thinking ourselves and our world.

This book is truly useful for soybean traders and farmers alike. It provides the seasonal tendencies (that is never 100% accurate) but nonetheless quite helpful in making the necessary trading or hedging decisions. It helps you to calculate probability of seasonal highs above or below other highs etc.
