THIS BOOK HELPED ME TO SEE WOMEN FROM THEIR POINT OF VIEW
Without the male-bashing you so often get in the media. It can be just as helpful for men to read as it is for the women. Her advice is based on universal principles. I appreciate her honesty and her cheerful attitude.

If you want to be angry or criticize, go find another book. If you want to heal, this book is a good place to start.
--George Stancliffe

This Book Helped Me Find My Husband
This is the first self-help book about relationships that actually looks at the relationship between men and women in a POSITIVE light. Instead of taking an antagonistic view of male/female relationships and bashing the opposite sex, Susan Jeffers suggests that each of us (women and men) look within and make changes while trying to create the right relationship. She helps women see that men are more like women than not--and that we all really need the same things from a relationshp. She also encourages women to assess their current relationships and to understand what they are and are not getting from them. I met the man of my dreams while reading this book because I had my defenses down and MY HEART OPEN. I just bought two more copies for my friends. Read this book with an open mind, an open heart and a pencil. You won't be disappointed.

For Men
For men as well as women. Susan gives men insight into the mind of woman. This is not a complex manuscript with indepth study into the science of human behavior. It is simple. Even the intellectual can learn from simplicity. Thank You Susan Jeffers, you have helped be become more human.

What 's a synonym for "incredible"?
I'm an emotional intelligence coach with an international clientele, not a realtor, but this book helped me tremendously. I would recommend it to anyone with a multicultural clientele or consumer-base. Concisely, and with great empathy, Mr. Lee describes cultures in a way that saves you reading tons of others books to get the same information. It saved me a lot of grief as I coached my first Pakistani client to know the difference between Pakistani and Indian, and explained to me why clients from certain cultures never seem to quit negotiating. Since emotional intelligence involves social skills, relating and empathy, it's crucial that I have a working-knowledge of how other cultures differ. One culture's "love of negotiating" is another culture's "pushy." One culture's "affiliative" is another culture's "not-sticking-to-business." And now I know not to cross my legs with a Middle-Eastern client. It's broadly applicable. If you have an international clientele, or do business on the Internet, you can't afford not to read this book. Really outstanding.

Opening Doors : Selling to Multicultural Real Estate Custome
This is an incredible book to read, well worth your time and money.

The author goes into detail of what makes the various ethnic groups unique and how you can apply this knowledge to being able to deal with your clients and customers most effectively.

I would highly recommend this to anyone that would like to be more knowledgable about other cultures and their ways of life.

Unique and valuable information
This is a well-researched and insightful book for anyone in real estate, related fields or home sellers who find themselves doing business with buyers from outside the American culture. This book helps you understand people from other cultures and their beliefs as they relate to real estate. The author not only explains what multicultural people do differently but also the reasons behind their unique practices and superstitions.

I found the sections on beliefs and negotiation to be particularly valuable. I always wondered why some groups continued to negotiate after a purchase contract had been signed or which were lucky addresses -- now I know.

Also, the background information on people from Asia, Mexico, Latin America, the Middle East, and Europe was extremely enlightening. Get this book if you have any contact with people from other cultures - it will save you not only time but frustration as well. It could also be useful reading for people in industries outside real estate which do business with other cultures.

Battles and Leaders of the Civil War: Opening Battles

Battles& Leaders of the Civil War: The Opening Battles
Battles and Leaders of the Civil War: The Opening Battles edited by Robert Underwood Johnson and Clarence Clough Buel from the editorial staff of "The Century Magazine." This is volume one of a four volume set, being for the most part contributions by Union and Confederate officers, based upon "The Century War Series."

This lead off volume begins with a realistic view of Washington,D.C. on the eve of the war as the preparation for war in the North and South begins. There is an excellent account of the fall of Fort Sumter along with detailed accounts of the operations in Virginia. This book is NOT limited to just ground action, but has naval battles and conflicts along the island waterways.

What I found to be interesting aside from the eyewitness accounts, were the excellent maps and engravings. This series was originally conceived in 1883 and is refered to as source material in other writings about the Civil War.

Grant, Bauregard, Longstreet and Sherman are just a few of the stories and accounts represented in this volume as the opening battles begin and the pages of history were forever changed. Written by the men who fought these battles makes this book very interesting as we read these accounts you begin to feel all of the emotions that bring to bear on these men as war becomes a reality where death and wounding become all too common.

We read about battles in Missouri, Maryland, Virginia and West Virginia, South and North Carolina, Kentucky, Tennessee, Arkansas as the war heats up and the opening slavos begin.

Biggest Bargain in CW Literature
The four volumes of the famous Battles and Leaders series constitute one of the essential collections of Civil War source material and the next step up for the casual and interested reader of Civil War literature. It includes lavishly illustrated (photographs, sketches, maps) accounts of the battles by the men who fought them, the great generals, the staff officers and other observers. Nothing is omitted and the price is unbelievably low for books of this sort. The only caveat is that accounts are sometimes self-serving, especially when written by a losing general. Nonetheless things balance out and I doubt if anyone will ever regret buying the set.

Practical & Philosophical Overview For Female Cold Callers
The author of "Cold Calling For Women" used to be a ballet dancer and she helps you think about your sales routine in terms of a dancing "performance model". The book acknowledges that women often do things like worry about how others might perceive them in the assertive role of a salesperson. There are suggestions to overcome this if you experience it. The book is a combination of practical and philosophical approaches. It contains more "feature selling" tips than real in-depth information about qualifying for enterprise or large ticket sales. The author talks about using paper index cards to track your work and only lightly touches on using computer databases or sales tools for this purpose (although she seems to recommend them). There are some basic written exersizes and a list of good responses for frequent objections. The book recommends writing a funny letter to a prospect that you can't reach after several attempts. A final section helps you formulate a theory for the number of cold calls you need to make to start generating the income you want. Overall this is a good book for a beginner (male or female) needing to get over basic fears, someone who needs a refresher on cold calling, or someone selling a lower-ticket product or service.

Great for the basics, skip if you are skilled
I do not think any of these techniques work just for women, so men, go grab it and read on....
I think for anyone just starting out in sales, whether on the phone or in the field, these techniques will give you the basics to get started. It is also a good idea to go back and read any good sales book as a refresher or a motivator.
Wendy does focus on selling from step one (prospecting, how and where to find your client base) to closing the sale and everything in between. What do I say, how do I say it, what do I do if I fumble... She gives many great real life examples to which we can all relate. Highly recommended for those new in the sales field. But remember for those of us that have been around the block a few times, it's not new information, just a reminder that what we were trained to do years ago still applies.

Brilliant! A Must Read!!
Weiss is brilliant! Her ideas will get you past the cold call jitters and on your way to cold calling success. If your job requires making calls to people who have never met you, this book is for you! Wendy shows you how to make the calls, how to get past the screeners, and how to get down to the business of making money. If you hesitate before picking up the phone to make cold calls...if you have a habit of putting off cold calling until later...you may be experiencing cold call terror. Get over it and start making money! While it has a catchy title, Cold Calling for Women, is not just for women. It's for all sales people who want to improve their telephone skills.
