I was a total beginner of sound engineering field when I bought this book. And this handy book helped me alot because I could find any technical terms I wanted to know in it and the definitions there are clear enough to understand even though I'm not a native English speaker. So, I recommend you to have this if you're beginners.

This book is and most likely will always be my favorite of all time

Beaches is a novel that will make you laugh, cry, and fill you up with love. It shows that opposites do attract and can stay connected through thick and thin. When Cee Cee Bloom- a marvolous singer - meets Hillary Whitney, they become two peas in a pod. Though they are not right there by each other all the time, they write each other letters trying to keep the other one in touch. When Hillary comes down with a disease, she asks Cee Cee to go along to watch her and her daughter at their summer beach house. The ending will make you cry and that's where I end. If you've seen th emovie "Beaches", you'll absolutely love the novel by Iris Rainer Dart.

Well 10 years on since the great movie came out based on the wonderful book "Beaches" I just had to read the book... And i am so glad that I did, this is a must read if you liked the movie. You'll laugh, you'll cry and share all the emotions of these wonderful characters! My Favourite!! Loan it to your best friend!

Jakusho Kwong has given us a gift in these tapes that is fresh, yet still conveys the ageless quality of Zen. He speaks of the subtle and the magnificent, in a most intimate way.

A combination of his own teachers' wisdom, his Asian heritage and his very American roots, Kwong Roshi's flavor of Zen is at once simple and straightforward. His voice itself moves one into a certain silence and calm that sitting on a meditation cushion sometimes seems to hinder rather than promote. There is a definite resemblance to his teacher Shunryu Suzuki in the way he speaks and his care for each moment, as well as for the traditions and forms that set Zen aside from other Buddhist traditions. Carefully, Roshi describes bowing, sitting meditation, walking meditation, and many many more elements of Zen.

If you would like a true taste of what Zen is like from the inside, I highly recommend these tapes.

A poet's sensitivities are required to do justice to the Breath Sweeps Mind tapes. As I am not one, I can only speak from the heart. The tapes are an excellent companion to Roshi Kwong's book: "No Beginning No End". Each deepens and extends the undertanding of the other. Upon finishing the book,I found myself
going back and re-reading sections to savor the message and
to clarify matters. Later,I discovered the tapes provided this for me on a whole different plane than I expected. While focsued on the tapes, I truly felt I was sitting in Roshi's study in the Sonoma Mountain Zen Center surrounded by gigantic, majestic California redwood trees having a personal one-to-one instruction in all matters Buddhist. I felt absolutely
transported, the tapes were so effective in conveying Roshi's presence. It was like having a session with your personal Buddhist "trainer", and having the session whenever and whereever you wanted it. Yet,I was actually listening to these tapes while hiking in the backwood hills of Delaware moved to tears by his teachings and its relationship to the beautiful emptiness before me.

From the first haunting notes of the flute, to the sound of the bell, to Kwong, Roshi's gentle voice, exquisite stories and readings, this audio cassette series is a gift and an invitation. We are invited to sit down, relax and just listen. This listening is a very welcome break and an opportune time to get re-acquainted.
As I was listening to this beautiful series of Roshi's, I was struck by the variety and multi-layered depth of the talks he is giving to us. His compassion and generosity are showing in that there is something for everyone. And for those of us who do not understand everything, I am reminded of the lines in the Epilogue of Suzuki Roshi's book, Zen Mind, Beginner's Mind:

"..And if you do not understand me just now, some day you will.."

Brighton Beach Memoirs is a play about a fourteen-year-old boy growing up in 1937. The boy's name is Eugene Jerome. The play is divided into two acts. The first act is one night in Eugene's house. The second act is a week later in his house. Eugene is growing up in a hectic and eventful household of seven family members. He writes memoirs in his journal about his family and different events occurring in his life. During the play, Eugene share's his own personal thoughts with the audience. This really gives the audience an inside look on Eugene's life. I reall liked having this inside view. It really kept me into the book. Brighton Beach Memoirs was a real page turner. I highly recommend it!

"Brighton Beach Memoirs" by Neil Simon is just superb! I saw the movie before reading this play, and I love it, so I knew I would at least like the play. I *love* the play; it's become one of my favorites. I fell in love with all of the characters and just adore the feeling of family that comes through while reading it. With witty dialogue (that can truly be appreciated my by people of the Jewish faith), I couldn't stop laughing, smiling, and just enjoying myself. I recommend.

There is a reason that Neil Simon is revered by the public, yet basted by critics. His plays contain characters and situations that just about anyone can relate with. BRIGHTON BEACH MEMOIRS is based upon Simon's youth. It is a family play; not only is it about a family, it is a play that the whole family will enjoy. Lots of laughs and tons of fun.

Superbly narrated by Jim Weiss, The Cat Of Bubastes is an exciting, riveting tale by G.A. Henty of Chebron (son of the Egyptian High Priest Ameres) and Amuba (a slave in the Ameres' household). Chebron accidentally kills a cat which is an act of sacrilege to the ancient Egyptians and the punishment is death. He and Amuba flee and in doing so find themselves embarking on the high road of adventure as they encounter life and death experiences among peoples of antiquity. The Cat Of Bubastes is a technically flawless, six CD, unabridged, six hour audio book and strongly recommended for personal and community library audio book collections.

viewer from Califronia 1st published over 100 years ago, G.A. Henty's novels fill a void in the area of literature that is appropriate for kids! It is full of adventure and is written in a style that kids will read comfortably. The 15 year old hero, the prince of a small nation invaded by the Egyptians,is of strong moral character and boys, especially, will love the story of his captivity! Packed full of details: Egyptian architecture, family life, methods of warfare, government, geography, religion, and more! Even a cameo appearance by Moses, himself! As a homeschooling mother, I bought this book for my 6th grader to supplelment our history studies. I found myself reading it whenever she put it down and we were devouring it together for an entire weekend. Can't wait to get more Henty novels!

This book is very good. The plot is excellent, although sometimes the author is to descriptive. Try it out! One of the best books I've read.

Once again, Donna VanLiere has written another masterpiece. The sequel to The Christmas Shoes certainly exceeded my expectations. Mrs. VanLiere continues the daily saga of Nathan Andrews -- a young man looking for his place in the world. What the reader finds in The Christmas Blessing is an easy to read page-turner with great characters. The story line is simple (but not insulting) and easy to follow. Mrs. VanLiere has been truly blessed with creativity and her ability to bring a things together and produce a superior novel. My only question to Mrs. VanLiere: When is your next novel???????

Last year, I purchased the book "The Christmas Shoes" and enjoyed it very much. In fact, I read it again this year and it was still just as touching as the first time. When I saw the sequel sitting on a shelf at the bookstore, I eagerly scooped it up and rushed home to read. I thought that I knew exactly what was going to happen as soon as Meghan's sickness was mentioned, but in the end the story was unpredictable. I enjoyed the different scenery and characters that were in this book. I would definately suggest that you read "The Christmas Blessing".

I love the song THE CHRISTMAS SHOES by NewSong and was excited about the book & movie last year. Both were great and I still get choked up whenever I hear the song. I was glad to see that Nathan's story continues. Get a box of tissues and lock yourself away to read this great story. You will cry, you will laugh and you will realize how truly blessed you are if you are healthy--and how many small blessings we take for granted each day. This book will remind you to be thankful to our Creator for each day we have and all His blessings to us.

The novel Wingman:The circle War by Mack Maloney in my opinion is a vey sosphisticated book. Ithink that the novel has a good plot and the author uses literary elements.The basic plot had an ace fighter pilot Hawk Hunter, who was fighting to keep the spirit of his country alive.After hearing a report of Russian SAMs deep in the Bad Lands,Hunter would have to stop the Russians plan to win the war. Hunter goes on solo missions to find and destroy the Russian SAMs. Once hes in to deep to call for backup, Hawk finds himself waging a one man war.Teh setting of this book is the ruins of America and the Bad Lands from North Dakota to Texas. The main character is Hawk Hunter who is a fighter pilot fighting whats left of the war. Some of the key literary elements of the novel are imagery and suspense. There are many examples of these two elements. Two of them are found on pages 145 and 107. These elements helped make the book interesting and helped make the basic ides clear. I would basically keep the novel the way it is. The only change I would make is to put more personification into the book. this in my favor would give the book more suspense and imagery.

This book is the best book I've read in a long time. I usally don't like to read but ever sinse I read the first book,and this book it's great. I love the F-16 fighting falcon,and sinse it is the main plane that Hunter uses is really thrilling. I am looking forward of collecting,and reading the whole series. It is full of thrilling moments that are enjoyable to read DON'T STOP WRITING THESE BOOKS. THEY ARE AWSOME,YOUR THE MAN MACK!

This was a wonderful sequel to the first Wingman, and I can't wait to see what happens to Hawk Hunter in the next book

The ideas in this book are presented in a series of essays. Even if you only read a few pages a day, you'll learn something valuable. I found the quotes used at the beginning of each section to be very inspiring, and have copied several of them into my journal. The book is a perfect size to be easily carried in a knapsack or purse if you want to read a section a day as a daily meditation. Overall, this book has been helpful to me in my quest to begin practicing an attitude of gratitude.

A lot has been said about having a "positive attitude," but this is one of the first books I have read that actually shows you how to accomplish this and experience life as a series of everyday miracles. I love this book and have given it as a gift several times. A must read.

I love this book more than any other that I own. The reason is that I read one passage every night before I go to sleep and it gives me so much to think about in improving my life. I limit myself to reading only one per night so that I can concentrate on the points of the particular essay of the night. I am almost to the end of the book and plan to begin rereading it and continuing to do so until I have the messages embedded in my brain and heart!!! This book is for everyone--I recommend you buy more than one copy and give them as gifts because I don't think you'll want to lend your copy out!!!

"Bright Orange for the Shroud" is the first novel by John D. MacDonald I've read. It certainly will not be the last. This is a thoroughly enjoyable story. Written almost forty years ago, MacDonald was ahead of his time concerning the observations he made about booming Florida and America. If you are looking for a good thriller that is probably better than 90% of what's being written today, don't hesitate to pick this one up. I'll be getting the first novel in the Travis McGee series shortly. BTW, this book has one of the hottest sex scenes I've ever read, written before the days of sexually explicit language. Believe it.

This is one of the best in the McGee series, it's got a little of everything: high crime, sordid negotiations, action in the city and in the swamps, and all of it is wrapped around a really good, solid caper.

McGee helps Arthur Wilkinson get back the inheritance he lost in a real estate scam. In the process, he has a cool encounter with the head of a con ring, a washed-up lawyer, various tricky women and a swamp rat named Waxwell.

Though Waxwell and the book's climax owe no small debt to MacDonald's own "Cape Fear," this is still top-notch McGee and not a bad place for the uninitiated to start.

Travis McGee promised himself a trouble-free summer. But when the local nice guy turned up after having been nearly destroyed by a professional black widow, McGee reluctantly agrees to help. A tennis-playing brunette with a slightly shifty husband turns out to be more bait than anyone expected, and McGee goes hunting for True Evil in the form of this book's villain.

One of MacDonald's best McGee books, filled with the Florida detail and cynicism that are the series' trademarks. What makes it special is the almost unwilling belief in good that the main character nurtures in the face of so much human failing. One of those stories where nearly everything clicks.

I purchased James Murphy's book in 2000, we just completed our financials and I am pleased to report that we doubled our revenues. We contribute this increase to a single statement we found in the book, Business is Combat. "All of our resources in the Air Force are alligned like a shaft of a spear, pushing the "pointy end forward". We did that in our business and the results were dramatic. We have become great planners, we execute efficently and we now debrief, all of this we learned from Mr. Murphy's book. I keep it on my desk and refer to it often because it makes us money.

Many business books are long on theory, but short on providing any insight about actually executing. And face it, theories come and go, but getting things done is never out of style.

James Murphy has written a book about getting things done. His style is informal and accessible ... he writes as if he's sitting across the table talking to you. And he remains focused on his message: the planning, execution and debriefing required to build a successful business or organization.

Getting into this book requires the reader to accept that the skills taught to fighter pilots apply to business. The amazing thing is that they actually do. I've not received this training, but I have been in business for a long time. And the information imparted in this book can help anyone run a business better. From handling 'task saturation' to staying focused, this book provides useful insights in an entertaining way.

If you're looking for a book on the latest theory on business, skip "Business is Combat." If you want to pick up some ideas you can start using immediately to get things done, I highly recommend it.

Jim Murphy's book is dead on. As an entrepreneur, one can tend to overlook planning on a day to day scale... this book brings the necessity of a plan back to the center of your business. The best thing you can do for your business or life... finally something that you can read and then put into action RIGHT AWAY. Just what I needed.
