A Suspensful Book!If you love danger, romance, mystery, and suspense, then you'll love Girl on High Wire. When Cathy, the main character, is almost murdered because of her famous aunt's fortune that is left to her, she is drawn into a confusing battle between good and evil where everyone is fighting for her heart and she can trust no one. This book is filled with plenty of red herings that will keep you on your toes wondering who the real murderer is! I know that you will injoy this book and once you start to read you won't be able to put it down. I didn't! Just one word of advise; don't read it in the dark!

Charming book about an escape from the city rat raceThis book, originally published in 1961, is about Derek and Jeanne Tengye, who moved from a hectic London life to living in a small cottage in Cornwall named Minack. The book is filled with experiences of their new country lifestyle: an attempt at starting an unsuccessful potato farm to the success of creating a flower farm; getting a well dug on the property; and learning to fish, among others.
But what is most endearing about the book are the stories of the many animals the Tengyes "collect" - Monty the ginger cat and Hubert, the "gull on the roof" that the book is named after. This book will especially please lovers of nature, country living, and animals. I enjoyed this book so much that I have already ordered three other Minack books from the UK which are currently out of print.
This is the first in book a series of 18 which comprise the "Minack Chronicles" written by Tengke (and I plan to find them all!). Please note that this book is back in print (paperback) by Warner Press as part of a trilogy called "The Story of the Minack Chronicles."

A Must Buy BookBeing an owner of this book I know it's worth reading. Claudia, a hardworking girl, is to work for Ellis because it seems his secretary caught the flu. He needs someone to type an important document and Claudia is the chosen one. Claudia's a little weary at first, but once Ellis locks her in his room she knows Ellis is up to no good. They continue to encounter one another throughout the book. This is definitely one of mine favorite books ever. Excellent job Charlotte Lamb.

one of the best harlequin/m&B writers everif you want a real romance writer with a lot of humor, look out for roberta leigh's stuff. shes so funny and knows how to wrench your guts as you watch her heroines suffer in petrarchan love (or guys wanting them but not "loving" them). its always a happy ending, but her twists in the end are incredible.

It was goodI found this book in my mother's closet like 4 years ago. Since I had nothing else to read I read it. It was really good.Spicy and Sexy. I like what the characters in this book do. What I mean is that sometimes you read books and it's like why did you say that stupid? Or they should have done this. It was good the characters were good. You should read it!

A Hero In Love.Keep the tissues handy. Rena Lambert is treated badly by her father Abner, because she has been lead to believe her birth caused her mother's death.
Abner tells her because her being a male daughter she can't get a husband, so he gets one for her, by offering Ford Harlow the ranch, upon (his) Abner's death.
Hurt and confussed Rena packs her things to leave. She has been the only person keeping the people working on her father's ranch, because Abner is more than a little touched in the head, and all the workers know it.
Ford Harlow finds Rena to be beautiful and he has always wanted to get to know shy Rena. But Ford doesn't trust Abner to keep his word, Ford also knows Abner is touched.
Ford and Rena marry, and Abner losses his whipping girl, he soon turns to the bottle, and has a stroke when he is drunk.
After the death of Abner, Rena learns her mother hadn't died in child birth, she had pictures of herself with Rena as a baby. Her Mother left her father, and she took Rena, but Abner kidnapped Rena to force her mother to come back, and when her mother died, Abner no longer needed Rena as a tool to get his wife back.
Rena turns in on herself, but Ford comes to the rescue, and he lets Rena know in no uncertain terms he loves her.
Again Susan Fox writes a winner.

Monsieur Pamplemousse On Vacation?Monsieur Henri Leclercq, Director of Le Guide has suggested that Monsieur and Madame Pamplemousse, accompanied by Pommes Frites, might well enjoy a vacation on the Cote d'Azure in Southern France. Of course while there, he is also quite sure that Pamplemousse would not mind picking up an object d'art, that Madame Leclercq's Uncle Caputo is having delivered by a contact at a performance by female pupils of a Russian school, in a production of West Side Story, and testing some new technology that Le Guide has acquired. Unfortunately, the contact never contacts the good Monsieur Pamplemousse, Trigaux, develops a number of derrieres and one doudoune in the photographic department at Le Guide, Pommes Frites protects his master from the new technology, and Pamplemousse finds himself in a coffin, courtesy of the Russian Mafya.
