Read this trilogy OVER and OVER!
I first stumbled across these books over a decade ago. Since then, I have read the series to myself several times. I have also read them outloud to my wife.
The author's writing style makes EXTREMELY easy and relaxed reading. A blend of wit, sarcasm, and action make the books FUN FUN FUN!
The story is interesting.
The characters are loveable!
Everything has its place.
I whole heartedly reccomend this trilogy! My copies have been passed around among my friends - and everyone agrees - these are GREAT!
My wife is re-reading The Son of the Hero for the third time now!

In a word... Great!
I've read a lot of SciFi/Fantasy and this series is one of the best. Most of the books being written today have very predictable plot twists; not this one! I agree whole heartedly with the reader from Louisiana - Mr Shelley, please let us know what happens to Gil next!

If you can't find these books in your local used book stores, try Amazon's ... used book location service. I've had good luck with both.

Best Book Ever
this series is the best set of books I have ever read. I definatly reomend this to anyone who loves to read fantasy books!

Stanley Kubrick: A Narrative and Stylistic Analysis (Contributions to the Study of Popular Culture, No. 39)
Published in Hardcover by Greenwood Publishing Group (July, 1994)
Author: Mario Falsetto
Amazon base price: $67.00
Average review score:

Somewhere Beyond The Infinate, Stanley Kubrick is Smiling...
Falsetto's guide to Kubrick is as Dante's to the Inferno: that is, DIVINE. Never mind the price, this book is worth it! Easy to read, scene breakdowns ( sometimes shot-by-shot ), and narrative patterns. Read another review for what they're like, I won't waste time trying to recite something too perfect to recite:
This is the DEFINATIVE Kubrick book. It offers descriptions from The Killing to Eyes Wide Shut, and it does a good job. Thank you God for Stanley Kubrick, and thank you God for Mario Falsetto
for telling about him!

Fresh look at Kubrick's masterpieces
Falsetto blends thoughtful, intellectual critques of Kubrick's work focusing on his editing choices and the tension between subjective and objective storytelling. It is by far the first comprehensive analysis of Eyes Wide Shut to be included in a book on Kubrick's style. Falsetto's discourse illuminates previous themes that never occurred to me such as the fact that the narrator in Barry Lyndon probably represents the eighteenth century aristocratic viewpoint, and therefore is not really an objective storyteller at all. Falsetto's articulate analysis of Kubrick's narrative themes are completely engrossing and fascinating without ever getting lost in technical jargon. His analysis is particularly right on when discussing such an underappreciated work such as Full Metal Jacket. He argues that Kubrick was aiming for hyperrealism, and that many of the scenes seem very surreal thus penetrating the heart of what war is about. I highly recommend this thoughtful and well thought out book to anyone interested in a fresh look at one of the greatest filmmakers who ever lived.

Much more than an hommage.
Falsetto really takes us inside the creative process of the Stanley Kubrick with his book STANLEY KUBRICK: A NARRATIVE AND STYLISTIC ANALYSIS. It is more than just an hommage to the late film master (there are plenty of those out there already), rather, it is a clever and insightful excursion into what makes Kubrick one of the great film artist of all time. The author is tracing the stylistic development of Kubrick's career, through carefully selected examples from some of his powerful films (THE KILLING, PATHS OF GLORY, LOLITA, 2001, A CLOCKWORK ORANGE, BARRY LYNDON among others). At the same time, he brillantly analyzes the way Kubrick is telling us story with images and sound, his method for organizing the material into a structured and conceptual cinematic "whole". STANLEY KUBRICK: A NARRATIVE AND STYLISTIC ANALYSIS should be seen as a serious (but nevertheless entertaining) investigation into the heart of Kubrick's work, and I strongly recommend it to anyone who appreciate good comprehensive writing about the master.

Starry Night Reflections...
I read these books for the first time about two or three years ago, and have been re-reading them again recently. They're such good books. In this novel, Christy again feels the restrictions placed on her by her over-protective parents when she has to spend Christmas with her family instead of her friends. But Marti steps in and the Rose Bowl Parade turns out a pretty good experience. Only, all her relationships seem up in the air. She hasn't heard from Todd, can't find a chance to talk with Rick, and even ends up on the outs with Katie. And why hasn't she ever noticed Doug this way before? This is one of my favorite Christy novels...I love her "starry night reflections."

I love these books!
I really like this book! Especially when Todd came back. I cried. I'm a book lover especially of these books. I just can't wait till the Todd and Christy Series. I love them together. I hope they stay together FOREVER. This book helps me in my life as a young christian.

Christy keeps gettin better
This book tells the ups and downs of fixing realationships and hoping you still have them with other people.Christy is trying to resolve thigs with Rick ,and of course always thinking of Tood.I hope mrs. Gunn comes out with more books .Im hooked!

GREAT MYSTERY AND ROMANCE!
Aha! Senator James Marshall McCord seems to be a man of many secrets. He loves politics and not ranching. His daughter, Olivia, has been running the ranch, Altimira, for the past two years.

Thanksgiving brought about a gathering of Senator McCord and Olivia, the ranch foreman, Freddie Caulder, her cousin, Robin McCord, her friend, Natalie and Whitt.

Levi was distinctly surprised when her father suggested a vacation just before he should be throwing his hat in the presidential ring.

Whoaa! On her way back to the ranch she notices that her bodyguards have disappeared and someone has taken the battery out of her phone.

Her kidnapping leads to a fast trip to Montana and more attempts on her life and the life of her kidnapper, Seth Gantry.

What is going on here? Even Seth is having a hard time trying to figure it out. Nothing was going right!

Seth's partner, Jerilyn Ryers helps in the kidnapping but something else changes her.

Seth's former friend, Alex Wells has been released from prison early. Something wasn't right.

Seth's mentor, Wally Stanley, was the only one who knew what was going on and someone was going to make sure he didn't tell.

Was Olivia becoming a willing pawn in a mixed-up identity crisis? She did know that her father would protect her if at all possible. And now Seth had to take over that job and unravel the mystery of killings and protect his love.

Definitely recommended with a --M. Great beginning to the McCord Family Countdown series.

Wonderful!
B.J. Daniels has written a book that offers readers suspense, humor and, of course, romance. A recommended read!

Great start to a fabulous series!
B.J. Daniels starts the McCord series with a high level of tension--both sexual tension and suspense. This book never lets up the pace. Seth and Levi are two well-developed characters that the reader comes to care about deeply. I couldn't wait to see what happens to the rest of the people introduced in this one! Great read!

Pictures From Space
STAR TREK-A History In Pictures, is yet another book that examines the popular space saga and how it came to be, and where it's headed. However, unlike the various episode and movie guides that have been published over the years, this book concentrates more on Trek's stll photo record, as opposed to detailing every adventure in text form.

Having said that, there is still a fair amount of history outlined in the book, written by J.M. Dillard. It is a well written overview of the franchise. There are still plenty of interviews with, and remarks by the actors and creative staff behind all of shows and films. In fact key episodes, the films, and many of those responsible for its success over the years, are highlighted with special "sidebar" pages If you are inclined to follow all things TREK, many of the stories and facts will probably seem familiar to you...Still Dillard's style and love for the subject she writes about makes for a fun trip down memory lane for fans, while newcomers will be brought up to speed quite nicely

The photos in the book are well chosen, and as I said before, really set the book apart. Many of them have been published before, while others seemed "new" to me and quite rare. The 2nd edition, (released in 96) features an introduction from William Shatner (Captain Kirk from the original series) and is "updated" to include Star Trek Voyager's first two years and then some Since the last edition though, that series ended, along with Deep Space 9, another has premiered, and there's been some more films, I guess it's time for a 3rd edition. As a fan of this great pictorial, I would welcome it, for now this 239 page book (including appendices) is recommened and will have to do

An illustrated love letter to Star Trek....
Over the years, many books have been written about Star Trek's growth from a popular-yet-low-rated television series to the huge cultural phenomenon it is today. Some are strictly technical (Gene Roddenberry and Stephen Whitfield's The Making of Star Trek), others are a mix of in-depth analysis and insider's insights (David Gerrold's The World of Star Trek), while still others are personal memoirs (William Shatner's Star Trek Memories). Most of them describe the growing pains of Roddenberry's concept of "Wagon Train to the Stars" and tell the now-familiar story of how NBC commissioned two pilots (rejecting "The Cage" for being too cerebral); how the fans saved the show for a second season but couldn't stop NBC from cancelling Star Trek in 1969; how those same fans kept the spirit of Star Trek alive during the "in-between" decade from the show's debut in syndication to the release of 1979's Star Trek: The Motion Picture.

J.M. Dillard, author of many Star Trek novels (The Lost Years, Mindshadow, plus five movie novelizations), contributed the text for Star Trek: Where No One Has Gone Before -- A History in Pictures. Published shortly after Star Trek: The Next Generation ended its seven season run and before both the premiere of the seventh feature film and the debut of Star Trek's third spin-off, Voyager, Where No One Has Gone Before covers Star Trek's first 28 years, from its creative genesis as the proposed chronicles of Starfleet Capt. Robert April and the Starship Yorktown to the pre-production of Star Trek: Voyager (which ended its run in 2001).

Although its well-written and includes two essays by the late great Isaac Asimov, informative sidebars in each chapter and an introduction by William Shatner, Where No One Has Gone Before's main asset is the wealth of pictures, many of them publicty shots of the several casts, but also many stills from the Original Series, the short-lived animated series, the first seven Star Trek features, and the first two spinoff series.

And even though it is a history of Star Trek, don't look for juicy "dark" revelations about the troubles (real or imagined) behind the scenes. Jeffrey Hunter's departure from the show is never examined in detail (the book Captain's Logs, an unauthorized history of Star Trek, blames Hunter for being excessively demanding, telling producers what camera angles not to use when photographing Capt. Pike and other prima donna behavior). It's not written as an expose -- Dillard, after all, is a Star Trek fan who also is an authorized Star Trek writer, and the intended audience is, of course, the vast number of other Star Trek fans.

A STAR TREK FAN'S DELIGHT!
It took Leonard Nimoy almost three decades to finally admit that he was Spock. It hasn't quite taken me that long to admit to being a "Trekker". The fear of being labeled a "geek" or a "nerd" was so overwhelming that I would shun any mention of the show outside of my circle of fellow Trek fans.

Well, I have come out of the Star Trek "closet", proudly announcing my enjoyment of all things Trek, past and present. This book is a treasure for those of us that have followed the original series as well as the subsequent spin-offs as of the book's publication.

Insightful background on the various shows along with great photographic stills and illustrations makes this a "must-have" for the devoted follower.

It's definitely for those of us grateful for the "journey" of which Gene Roddenberry initiated back in the mid-sixties.

It's also a good primer for those that don't quite understand what all the fuss was about.

she loses a star for the slow beginning.
Aside from that, it was a rip-roaring read. I literally could not put it down - I was reading while I got dressed in the morning.

My problems with this book were that it took so very long to get started, in fact I was 100pp in before I felt the hero and heroine made any real connection. (It was at least 45 pages before they even met) Once they did though, things didn't slow down until I turned the last page.

Ms. Wilson created very real characters in the midst of out-of-this-world drama. She got into the head of a single mother with all of her contradictions and worries admirably. The kids were great (and I don't even really like kids in romances). Our hero was wonderful in how he related to women.

I just wish the book hadn't taken so long to get into the meat of the story.

I loved this book!
Gayle Wilson comes across with another great read! The characters come to life through their emotions and the believable threat to their safety. The author did a wonderful job of making Kathleen's children adorable and loveable without letting them steal the story. The romance sizzles, and the hero is to die for! I can't wait for book #3.

Gayle Wilson never disappoints,
And The Stranger She Knew was no exception! A poignant story of betrayal and love. Kathleen has been on the run for a long time, but she learns to trust again, learns to stop running and believe in the feelings that this mysterious man provokes. The only problem with the story is that it ended and I have to wait another month for its sequel!

100th book
This book was a good ending i think and it was sort of sad though. Lisa was so sure about PJ being the horse she wanted when he was taken away from her so fast! you can kinda of sense the end of the saddleclub while u read, but i also enjoy Pine Hollow, even though its mostly romance stuff. This is a good and really emotional book and it does leave u hanging and wondering if the end is near! buy it!

Wow
I havn't read Stray Horse yet, but it looks REALLY good! Although, i really hope that this isn't the last book in the series, becasue the Saddle Club is just TO GOOD to end. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE DON"T END THE SADDLE CLUB!
Although things that i think need imporoving are: More books with Phil, more funny bits, like, with Veronica or something. ALthough, i think the books need to have more in them. Everything happens in a short time, like HArd HAt for instance. When i read that, I felt as if i had only read about 6 chapters. Unless its just me, becasue i read pretty fast! hehe
It was a good book though!
Please take my thoughts into consideration Ms. Bryant!
Saddle Club Rules!!!!

Will things ever be the same again?
What a moving book. Lisa's parents have just dropped a big bomb on her. Her parents are getting a divorce and she does not know how to deal with it very well. So she starts spending a lot of time at the local animal shelter where she becomes attached to a stray horse She names PJ and you'll just have to read the book to find out why she named him that. Stevie and Carole are doing the best they can to be supportive of their friend in her time of need. Can they help lisa come to terms with her Parnets divorce and the sudden arrival of Pj's Orginal owner? Just read this book and you will learn all the anwers. This book Really helps to Tie into the first book of the Pine hollow Series Called the Long Road Home. Be sure to read this one!!!! IT had me tears!

Strictly Business... Bad Start, Good Finish
Strictly Business is a book I suggest anyone read. I read this book and I really enjoyed it although the beginning starts off very slowly. There is a lot if information to take in in the first 3 chapters, but it really helps for buetter underdstanding in the conclusion. I recommend anyone who is a skeptic of romance novels read this one because after I forced myself through the first few chapters I could not put it down.

Strictly Business... Good start, Good Finish,
Strictly Business by Leigh Michaels is a wonderful book, I read it back in 1992 and I think it is such a sweet story, it's about a woman named Gianna West and a man named Blake Whittaker who have been best friends since childhood and now senior partners in the cosmetics company that both their fathers started and when Gianna suggests naming their new perfume after a famous model it seemed like a great idea until Blake started dating the beautiful model named Meghan, but really both Gianna and Blake like each other but are both to stubborn to admit it. This book is a KEEPER! Definitely a 5 star book but I wish I could give it more.

What a Lovely Romance Book!
